Decent - this wouldn't be my first recommendation but it's not a bad option. Nothing stands out (positively or negatively) from our experience. The service was good, the restaurant seemed pretty clean at least in the dining area, and the food was ok. I love love love a good fried calamari dish and specifically visited this restaurant after having searched for calmari dishes on the Yelp app near me - in my search I came across Turn 12 and the overall reviews were pretty good and the calamari looked amazing from the pics. I can say my expectations may have been a tad high considering what I read and saw, so, I was a bit disappointed with the calamari, however, it is not by far then worst I've had. I wouldn't even place it in the "bad" category....just not what I was expecting. All in all, not a bad place to try out and definitely family friendly. read more

After a couple of winery visits and tasting, and a 150 mile drive, I was dying for some meat and an IPA. After a little research we discovered Turn 12, a local pub offering everything I desired. A nicely designed sports bar only a couple of blocks from the hotel, and the bartender was quite the character. My wife had the Grilled Chicken Salad, and I settled for Blue Cheese Burger with crispy Truffle Fries. The burger was cooked to perfection (medium rare), and the ice cold double IPA completed the meal. To my delight the LA Lakers game was on and all made for a pleasant evening. Highly recommend this establishment for its decor, friendly staff & patrons; and pub food that is top shelf. Moderately priced. read more

This place seems reasonably popular; for the last 3 times I came down to Monterey (within a span of 2 months), someone suggested dining here. I said yes enthusiastically the first time, always eager to try out a restaurant, and I felt maybe I didn't quite order the right thing so I I said yes a second time, and I declined the 3rd time. The service was also "mid" - not unpleasant, but not friendly either. They definitely seemed to want you to get up and yeet yourself the moment you looked like you could be done. This is spot is amazing!!! The theme is cars, food is amazing and the service was excellent. It had a great cars theme. I got the turn 12 sandwich and it was so good. My boyfriend got the turn 12 burger and he loved it! The fries are so tasty but what took the show was the MAC AND CHEESE. Like all better restaurants, they DON'T charge a surcharge when using a credit card. This is a fun restaurant in downtown Monterey. Plenty of parking in the area. I like the ribs here and the burgers are terrific. It's a fun kind of theme restaurant with lots of art and pictures from auto racing. Real motorcycles are there also. They do have Coke products, but they still don't have Coke Zero. The food and service is always good. They have real paper towels in the bathroom, not a germ spreading blower. It's not their fault, there's a wacky rule in California where you have to ask for water and a straw. So do that right away. read more

Just had to wait a few minutes to be seated, ordered and received great service from our server. We had the fettuccine and chicken parm! They were both great and also had a nice glass of wine. Total family freindly restaurant and a block away from the portola hotel. Service is good, tables clean, menu is simple. Its a total guy hang out with laguna seca and Nascar photos on the wall. We been their twice allready and my husband loves it. I think the mac and cheese needs seasonings. It was too bland for my taste. The kids pizza is delicious! The burgers are good too. I like this place. The food is tasty, the service is friendly, and the ambience is family friendly. The fam and I stopped by here while visiting downtown and we're very satisfied. Is it culinary genius and the pinnacle of fine fine dining? No. But it doesn't need to be. My husband saw the 4.3 star reviews on Opentable and we chose this restuarant for our only night out in Monterey. I asked the waiter for a recommendation, after he steered me away from the rib eye. Instead I got the braised ribs. The meat was so dry it was hard to eat. The potatoes? No flavor. My husband had a plain burger, which was overcooked. He ordered medium rare, but it came well done. My husband also got Brussels sprouts, which were completely burnt and not edible. When we complained, they basically acted as though that's how it goes. They didn't even comp the burned sprouts, which were a complete embarrassment. They didn't offer to help the situation in any way. Very disappointed. We would have been happier eating at the Taco Bell around the corner. Don't waste your money. read more

The burgers here are amazing! My husband and I love visiting Monterey on vacation and we decided to try this spot after Redditing best burgers in the town. It didn't disappoint! They were super juicy even though I ordered mine medium. My husband did order his fried separate as he wanted them first but they came out crisper than mine. Mine were less which was surprising but they also got kind of soggy in the end. However, I'm knocking off a star because they had changed us a different price than what was on the menu they handed us. The burgers are $18 but our check charged us for $19 each. I'm not sure if they just didn't update their menu to reflect current prices but since it was only a $2 difference, we didn't want to cause a scene over that amount so we didn't bring it up. It's just really odd though. A great spot to grab a bite to eat and/or a drink in an outdoor space that is doing a great job following CDC recommendations and being extra clean. I had the tri tip BLTA and was super content with it. It was served on toasted bread with a side of garlic pepper aioli.
