Decent - this wouldn't be my first recommendation but it's not a bad option. Nothing stands out (positively or negatively) from our experience. The service was good, the restaurant seemed pretty clean at least in the dining area, and the food was ok. I love love love a good fried calamari dish and specifically visited this restaurant after having searched for calmari dishes on the Yelp app near me - in my search I came across Turn 12 and the overall reviews were pretty good and the calamari looked amazing from the pics. I can say my expectations may have been a tad high considering what I read and saw, so, I was a bit disappointed with the calamari, however, it is not by far then worst I've had. I wouldn't even place it in the "bad" category....just not what I was expecting. All in all, not a bad place to try out and definitely family friendly. read more

This is a great spot right in DT Monterey. I was staying at the Marriott and walked over. PLINY ON TAP!! Staff is friendly and conversational. Food is really good also. I had a wedge with local iceberg lettuce. BLT and Calamari were awesome too. read more

I sat at the bar on a rainy night. The food was solid, Allen was a great bartender, and the entire waitstaff was warm and professional. The crowd was friendly locals. Total family freindly restaurant and a block away from the portola hotel. Service is good, tables clean, menu is simple. Its a total guy hang out with laguna seca and Nascar photos on the wall. We been their twice allready and my husband loves it. I think the mac and cheese needs seasonings. It was too bland for my taste. The kids pizza is delicious! The burgers are good too. Just a heads up the waitress didn't give us correct change back either out of laziness or the fact the restaurant doesn't have coins... regardless you don't short change the customer. If you don't have coins you round to dollar and give them extra. Not just simply take their money. For example our bill was 66.46 or whatever exact coins. But i was only given $13 back not $13.54. Correct change needs to be given or round to $14. This is common practice and courtesy. read more

My friend and I came specifically to this place because it's a MOTORPSORTS THEMED RESTAURANT and we were trying to watch the F1 race that happened this past weekend, the USGP. We didn't think to call ahead and ask if they were going to show it on any TV's becuase as I mentioned above, it's a motorsports themed restaurant, of course they were going to play the F1 race ATLEAST on one TV. but NO. Not only were they not playing the race, but they also said they wouldn't play the race because of football. Now, I wouldn't be this upset over this, if it were a buffalo wild wings, or alvarado street brewery down the block, but a motorsports themed restaurant? Really? To add to this shitty experience. We were sat in a table RIGHT NEXT TO WHOLE FAMILY WATCHING THE RACE ON AN IPAD. At that point, they have a small little tv in the back of the restaurant where they could've played the race for both of our tables. After reading, other reviews, it seems like if football season is in, then there's not any other sport in the world that they are going to play on the 50 tv's they have. After receiving horrible customer service from a restaurant down the street we decided to give Turn 12 a try and they didn't disappoint. Just had to wait a few minutes to be seated, ordered and received great service from our server. We had the fettuccine and chicken parm! They were both great and also had a nice glass of wine. Is it culinary genius and the pinnacle of fine fine dining? No. But it doesn't need to be. This is spot is amazing!!! The theme is cars, food is amazing and the service was excellent. It had a great cars theme. I got the turn 12 sandwich and it was so good. My boyfriend got the turn 12 burger and he loved it! The fries are so tasty but what took the show was the MAC AND CHEESE. This place seems reasonably popular; for the last 3 times I came down to Monterey (within a span of 2 months), someone suggested dining here. I said yes enthusiastically the first time, always eager to try out a restaurant, and I felt maybe I didn't quite order the right thing so I I said yes a second time, and I declined the 3rd time. The service was also "mid" - not unpleasant, but not friendly either. They definitely seemed to want you to get up and yeet yourself the moment you looked like you could be done. A great spot to grab a bite to eat and/or a drink in an outdoor space that is doing a great job following CDC recommendations and being extra clean. I had the tri tip BLTA and was super content with it. It was served on toasted bread with a side of garlic pepper aioli. The avocado and bacon slices were nice and hefty and the lettuce and tomato was crisp and crunchy. Can a sandwich get any better? Maybe if you add some truffle fries on the side like I did. Although online states otherwise, they are not pet friendly and do not have "Pet" insurance on the patio. Grace is a bartender there and neither her nor management have a clue on anything.
