Our visit to Turn 12 Bar & Grill was a complete disappointment. We brought our well-behaved puppy and planned to enjoy a nice meal on the patio and celebrate my parents anniversary, but from the moment we arrived, the staff treated us like we were a nuisance. Cold looks, passive-aggressive comments, and zero effort to make us feel welcome. Google says this place was pet friendly, but when we got there, they didn't allow pets. No problem, we ordered some pizzas to go. The manager came to the front and offered to sit us in the patio and so we did. We weren't making it a big deal or anything, our puppy is 6weeks and sleeps most of the day. But what really sealed the deal? While my husband was waiting near the restroom, he overheard the staff talking about charging us extra just for having our dog with us outside. There were no signs, no heads-up, nothing -- just whispering about how to tack on extra fees behind our backs. That's not just unprofessional, it's sneaky and unethical. Turn 12 acts like they're offering a premium experience, but the service is petty, the attitude is off-putting, and the way they treat guests is unacceptable. We won't be back, and we'll be telling friends and fellow pet owners to steer clear. Plenty of other places in town treat people -- and their pets -- with the respect they deserve. We had lunch at Turn 12 awhile back and the food is good, but unfortunately the prep area, which I saw when going to the bathroom, is filthy. I also saw what appeared to be mouse poop on a table next to me. I overheard the female manager making rude and inappropriate comments about guests and employees. Service: It was all good until we're paying. The staff that helped us shook head and show reluctant attitude when she saw our grand raised for questions. She explained everything real quick and not even let my friend to finish their sentence for asking for a box... Ambiance: really really good! Turn 12 is an awesome bar and grill for enjoying some snacks and drinks in a casual and carefree environment. The vintage raceway decor (actual motorcycles hanging from the ceiling and on shelves) provides a unique element ideal for a sports pub, along with plenty of TVs at the bar and both indoor and outdoor seating. They serve food till midnight on Saturdays, and we were able to get a couple cocktails, and the jalapeno poppers and truffle fries off their late night menu. Everything was delicious, especially the tasty perfectly sweet lemon drop, the snacks served fresh, hot, and crispy, with a nice consistency, good seasoning, and a pretty addicting flavor overall. The staff was great, no problems, and they made sure we had everything we needed during our visit. We were lucky to find this place, and I'm convinced that it's one of the best options in Monterey for nightlife or just to enjoy a couple late night drinks in a laid back atmosphere. read more

Title: Deeply Disappointed and Mistreated by Staff I rarely write reviews, but my experience here was absolutely unacceptable. I was completely disrespected and humiliated by two staff members, Grace and Sylvia. They singled me out for no reason, treated me like I didn't belong there, and flat-out refused to serve me all while I was with my kids. They made unfair assumptions about me as a parent and even accused me of drinking alcohol when I was completely sober. I hadn't had a single drink all day and wasn't even driving. The entire situation felt deeply personal and discriminatory. I've never been treated with such judgment and disrespect in any restaurant before. No customer and certainly no parent with children present deserves to be embarrassed and disrespected like that. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and reflects very poorly on the restaurant's culture and management. read more

I forgot to add my review. I came here on Monday to have dinner with my daughter and her bf. Her bf said he came here a lot with his friends so I told him we would try it out. They live in salinas so we decided to come here. The service with our waitress was great. I forgot her name. She was an older lady but she was very helpful and she was very attentive. Everyone loved the food we got, the bathrooms were clean. The side we were on was quiet and they have a bar on the other side. Food was definitely delicious and they give big portions. We were stuffed for dessert but our waitress told us to at least try the brownie with ice cream. We all shared it and it was delicious! Everything here was great! Everything tasted fresh, nice portions, friendly waitress! I would definitely come back again if I'm in the area! I didn't get the pictures of the rest of the food but the Sandabs (I think that's what it's called) was nice and crispy and soft and flaky on the inside. The salmon was made just right. We had two pasta dishes as well and they said they really liked them my niece got the BBQ chicken pizza- Cesar salad and my daughter had a corn lobster chowder (that was really good) For appetizers we ordered the calimari and chips and guacamole. The calamari was good it was different they had green beans and onions. Overall the service and food was really good. The food is pretty brutal, especially for the price point. Menu looks enticing but the execution was poor across the board. The short rib burger was a mess. Just this wet pile of wilted onion rings and short rib on top of a burger patty (I should have read the menu more carefully because I assumed they were saying the burger patty was made with short rib, but no... it's beef on beef), spilling out the sides and soaking completely through the bun. And seemingly unseasoned -- flavorless. Fortunately there was a salt shaker at the table to make it minimally edible. Pasta was overcooked and all soft, with spongey, dense meatballs and a puddle of red water at the bottom of the plate (I.e., the sauce had separated, with some solid bits that were clinging to the pasta.) The fries were good, though. Final complaint is that I had a specific game I wanted on the TV. We were the only people seated in the area, and I asked the hostess while she was seating us. She said the TVs are synced and if they changed this one it would also change the ones at the bar, so they couldn't. Not the hostess's fault... but come on now, this is a sports bar. They should get their TV system sorted out so that they can accommodate people better than that. read more

Went in last night and did not take any photos but hey definitely a list go to. The ambiance is laid back and the bartender was full of excitement and hospitality. I got the honey truffle chicken. Boy did I not know what I got myself in too. It was bursting with flavors the mashed potatoes were a creamy balance between the sweet and crunchiness of the chicken. The carrots were cooked to perfection and the broccoli were the greens I needed after a long day. I paired it with their house Zin! We stoped by Monday night for a quick dinner. We decided to try some new dishes on their Monday night football menu and everything was amazing! The corn ribs came out sizzling, had fresh lime and cojita cheese on top with a spicy calabrian chili butter. The fried chicken sliders were delicious, perfectly crispy chicken with a yummy sweet and spicy sauce. We also got the roast beef sandwich (not pictured) which was to die for! Tender roast beef on a soft ciabatta roll, caramelized onions, mushrooms and cheese! 10/10 we loved these specials. A lively, spacious and automotive themed space with a wide selection of choices on the menu but still had the single worst experience in a restaurant in decades. Beware of this place. We had a large party and when it came time for dessert, I specifically asked the server if the carrot cake could be warmed up. I have cold sensitivities with my teeth and prefer this dessert served warm. He said no problem. Later, when the dessert arrived, it was stone cold. Ok so mistakes happen and not a big deal. Until the waiter decided he wanted to make it a big deal. He comes to me in front of my party and tells me his pastry chef refused to warm it up. (Apparently the dessert was for her and not me.) They didn't want the frosting to melt. I get that as I've ordered carrot cake warmed dozens of times served warm with never a problem until at Turn 12. The waiter doubles down on me both throwing his pastry chef under the bus and not taking responsibility. I asked him why he let his runner serve it to me in the first place. He didn't get it and blamed everyone else including me. No explanation of the pastry chefs refusal at time of order. No offer of an alternative. Great spot to watch a game! They have multiple TVs along the bar and special menu for football nights. The best part was they have Pliny the elder and blind pig on tap. Not sure if it's a regular occurrence but they also had a halftime raffle with prizes when we were there. read more

Just a heads up the waitress didn't give us correct change back either out of laziness or the fact the restaurant doesn't have coins... regardless you don't short change the customer. If you don't have coins you round to dollar and give them extra. Not just simply take their money. For example our bill was 66.46 or whatever exact coins. But i was only given $13 back not $13.54. Correct change needs to be given or round to $14. This is common practice and courtesy. read more

My friend and I came specifically to this place because it's a MOTORPSORTS THEMED RESTAURANT and we were trying to watch the F1 race that happened this past weekend, the USGP. We didn't think to call ahead and ask if they were going to show it on any TV's becuase as I mentioned above, it's a motorsports themed restaurant, of course they were going to play the F1 race ATLEAST on one TV. but NO. Not only were they not playing the race, but they also said they wouldn't play the race because of football. Now, I wouldn't be this upset over this, if it were a buffalo wild wings, or alvarado street brewery down the block, but a motorsports themed restaurant? Really? To add to this shitty experience. We were sat in a table RIGHT NEXT TO WHOLE FAMILY WATCHING THE RACE ON AN IPAD. At that point, they have a small little tv in the back of the restaurant where they could've played the race for both of our tables. After reading, other reviews, it seems like if football season is in, then there's not any other sport in the world that they are going to play on the 50 tv's they have.
