Pretty much the only Mediterranean food in Anchorage. It's easy to spend a lot of money but the food is great. I loved the grape leaves and hummus. So fresh. So worth it. read more

Amazing baklava and kunefe. We came at closing and the folks were so kind enough to still make the sweets for us and bring them to us at our car. Really nice folks. Even more amazing food that we're trying to stop by again before we leave Anchorage!! Well worth the pit stop. read more

Cool ambiance, great food and service! Can't wait to go back! Don't forget to get a reservation first as they have limited space.

I came back to visit Anchorage after almost a year and was excited to visit one of my fav restaurants in town. First thing I noticed was change in the seating which is not a big deal as I normally order take out. I ordered the chicken kabob but it did not taste anything like before. The rice I used to love was tasteless and uncooked. Chicken was bland and came in cubes rather than 2-3 pices of breast as before. Salad was also not same and didn't even look good enough for me to try. Lentil soup that I loved was different and bland and tasteless. I am very disappointed and not really sure what happened to previous owners but the food now is just plain bad and as much as I hate to say it, not worth wasting my money anymore. read more

We picked up 2 orders of Adana Shish Kebab and it was the most dissatisfying and disappointing meal...This is one of many of our favorites from this restaurant but it is clearly no longer the same restaurant. I'm so heartbroken to learn Turkish Delight restaurant has gone through a change of ownership Dear new owner, you bought the restaurant because it was a successful business with a solid loyal customer base or you wouldn't have bought the restaurant. It was successful because their food was great. Why then would you go and change the food or how it used to serve their dishesWhy would you not take care to follow the recipe especially with the crowd favorites such as adana? You want to keep your customer base and then you can slowly add other items on the menu. If you thought you could do better, you would have had your own restaurant and wouldn't have needed to buy this, would you? Their rice was so delicious but no more of that buttery rice, no more grilled jalapeños with Adana, salad had a few sad pieces of lettuce and ungodly amount of shaved carrots and no dressing. Why would you change the menu??? So sad to see a successful restaurant get bough out and the new owner or chef decide to change things and watch it slowly burn. Then they wonder what happen? It's truly sad. read more

First time here since the re-opening. Firstly -- I wanted to like this place, as I love Turkish food. Sadly it just doesn't add up - so let me explain. Got right in for a 7:15 res - sat down and then preceded to wait - and wait -- no water - no greeting - and wait. We had time to glance around the room and both noticed that it was uncommonly bright inside - lots of light from both outside and in. Maybe it's just us but we like a dark cozy atmosphere. Finally the waitress comes over, looks at our table and says "you mean they didn't even give you water yet?" What did she think we were supposed to say? We ordered drinks which were brought on time and then ordered. My wife had a delicious bulgar dish - and the melted cheese app -- both very good. I got the gyros plate -- very excited to try it -- but then noticed that they have a vertical spit (just like in Turkey) but the meat was one of those processed rolls of mystery substance. It was shaved nicely - thin but the flavor? BLAND. Plus it came with a yogurt sauce -- not tzatziki -- wow big difference -- I finally got some -- delicious. We did not stay for dessert. I cannot bring myself to come here again - again, I WANTED to like it. read more

Great food and great service! I really liked Adana Kebab that comes with salad and rice. The service was really good. Also there was live music that we enjoyed really much. Thank you! read more

Turkish Delight - Adana Kebab and yogurt cucumber dip - Turkish Near Me - Anchorage, Alaska

Anchorage is one of the last places in North America that I would expect to find quality Mediterranean food. Fortunately, Turkish Delight proves me wrong. Tucked away in a part of town that most tourists never visit this restaurant is one of the better that we have found in Anchorage. And while it's a small restaurant it dishes out quality food and big flavor. Unfortunately, because it isn't overwhelmed by tourists it doesn't get the same exposure on social media that many other popular restaurants like Moose's Tooth, Glacier Brewhouse, 49th State Brewery and others do. This is good and bad. It's poor for business, but it's good news for you because there might be a place for you to sit in the small restaurant. What we can guarantee is that the food here is going to be far better than average. In fact, this restaurant would survive in larger cities like Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles and I know that because I've eaten quality Mediterranean food everywhere on the West Coast and what you find here rivals most of the others. It is some of the better food you're going to find in Anchorage. Don't be afraid to go out on a limb and try something on the menu that you may not be familiar with. Their main dish tends to be the doner kebab which is like shawarma if you've never heard of this terminology before. Normally, they serve it with a small salad and rice. This meal comes as a entree or in pita bread. And if you're going to come as far as trying this you better order the red lentil soup. They do a heck of a job with it here. If you're hungry I would suggest starting with their hummus. It's clearly made on site and fresh daily. read more

One of my favorites. Best lamb chops in Alaska and I know my lamb! Calamari is great, as is everything else I've tried. Nice ambiance in the very small dining room. The only small criticism I have is that they need voicemail. The phone often rings out. read more

Excellent, we went tonight at 6pm It is not a big place, but it is a nicely decorated restaurant. Service was excellent We had calamari, Falafel sandwich Adan Shish kabh And baklav Will be back read more

Excellent spot! Consistently delivers delicious food. The service is friendly and I like the vibes inside.

They take proper service very seriously, this was evident in the way the new wait staff were trained (saw this in action at the restaurant) and they do a great job. Kind, courteous and quick. Food was really great and fresh, I had the gyro for lunch and it was excellent. Would definitely come back for more. read more

Turkish Delight - View at the bar - Turkish Near Me - Anchorage, Alaska

I don't know what happens at this place and what kind of magic or voodoo or science portal they've installed here but you get transported right into Ankara, Turkey. From the lovely ambience to fantastic food cooked right before your eyes if you're lucky enough to sit at the bar your in Turkey. And then you walk out after a meal that makes the darkest Arctic night brighter and boom your back in Anchorage. One thing I would like to bring to your attention is that there are some foods that you absolutely must try - pea soup is one - sprinkle some lemon on it and you're half way there - Adana kebab - just the right kind of spicy - and of course black tea with baklava. read more

I'd never had Turkish food before but reviews were good and I had to try this place out. It was absolutely amazing. Our waiter suggested dishes and they left us speeches, so flavorful and delicious. Highly recommend if you're in anchorage and I can't wait to return! read more

Authentic and tasty! Shepherds Pie and Apple Tea were well prepared and awesome. Turkish Delight candy was authentic and good. Service was exceptional and friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant. read more

The food is always delicious, and it is absolutely authentic. If you want something spicy, the Adana Kebap is great (not -quite- what I remember from two years at Incirlik, but still right!) The Döner dishes (Iskender Kebap, Döner Kebap, and "gyros" sandwich) are delicious, the Baba Ganush is marvelous, and Muratti's Köfte is perfect. The Cacik could use a bit more cucumber, but there's never any left over! Also, they serve Ayran, and Elma tea. I only wish they could get Efes Pilsen ... The staff are always polite and friendly, the food reaches the table at the right temperature, and I have never left there in a bad mood! EDIT TO CORRECT MYSELF: Oops. I misspoke, I should have written " ... could deliver Efes ... " They do, in fact, have Efes Pilsen in the restaurant. read more

Wow, just moved to Anchorage and this place is Devine! Best stuffed grape leaves and gyros! Highly recommend.

I've been searching for a good gyro in anchorage for two years and I found it at Turkish delight. Their döner kebab sandwich has the meat straight off the spit and it's what I've been missing! The lamb in the stew we ordered was also fall off the bone wonderful. Will be back again and again read more

Still excellent. I've finally gotten around to exploring other items on the menu and guess what? Divine! WHO KNEW??? Adana Kobab is flawless and the Falafel appetizer was phenomenal. Lastly, the salad and more importantly, their salad dressing, stole the show! read more

I can't believe it's taken me so many years to come here!! The space where Turkish Delight occupies has been through a parade of failed eateries over the last ten years and TD is definitely the longest-lasting and best restaurant thus far. It's a small space, maybe a dozen tables. The place is adorably decorated. It feels exotic but homey. Don't let the run down strip mall and parking lot dissuade you from coming in. Service was great. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. We ordered the baba ghanoush for an appetizer. It was incredibly delicious. I ordered the falafel sandwich and my husband got a gyro. His only complaint was that it was a little dry and could have used some more tzatziki sauce. The pitas were a little on the dry side and broke easily, but everything was still delicious. I dare say, and what sacrilege this is to say in Anchorage, that I liked my falafel sandwich better than Falafel King's. Next time, I'll try a different appetizer and get dessert. I look forward to coming here again. read more

Nice restaurant, we had rentil soup and adana kebap. Both were really delicious. And there was a live music which is nice with dinner. Thank you!! read more

Turkish Delight - Adana Kebap - Turkish Near Me - Anchorage, Alaska

Some of the best restaurants are tucked away in strip malls around Anchorage just like this one. My husband and I were hungry and had to run an errand and decided to check this one out. We were pleasantly surprised. The meat dishes were excellent, and salads were fresh. It was nice to have Shawn Lyons playing his guitar to serenade us while we dined on the very tasty and delightful food. The portions were just right. And the turkish coffee to top off dinner was excellent. There is a selection of beer and wine for those of you who want to enjoy a glass with your meal. The servers were very nice, polite and the food was served very fast. We'll definitely be going back again. read more

Great food. I've been to Turkey many times and this is very authentic. Nice staff too.

Three stars for the food - very good, good portions, and flavors difficult to find in Alaska. One star for excellent service - our wait staff was very good and professional. One star for ambiance and very nice clean restroom! Full five stars!! We both had shiesh kababs every bight was fantastic. The decor and smooth jazz make this a classy place with a fun and unusual flair. I'll be back - many times read more

Too overpriced for the portions they serve. Food is underwhelming. A gyros is $15 that you can hold in one hand and finish in two bites. Small appetizer and desserts portions too. read more

We ate there when they first opened and were unimpressed. Tried again tonight, two years later, and flat out didn't like/couldn't eat the stringy and flavorless baba ganoush. The lentil soup was a mushy flavorless bowl of awfulness. Hubby ate his dolmas (rice wrapped with grape leaves) and falafel pita sandwich but wrinkled his nose and to both said "It wasn't anything special." The hummus was edible, but again, nothing special. At $40 for a sandwich, bowl of soup and 3 appetizers (all served on huge plates at our tiny 25" square table), this is one place we won't experience again. We SOOOO MISS Aladin's Mediterranean Restaurant! read more

Probably our favorite restaurant; wish we could afford to eat there at least once a week. It's a hidden gem; check it out.

This is a must-visit restaurant in Anchorage. The food is made with top-quality ingredients, carefully prepared and beautifully presented. The service is very friendly and the cost is reasonable. Make a reservation- they are busy with good reason read more

This little gem shines! This was our first time here, but won't be our last. Atmosphere was neat. Add in soft live guitar music, friendly staff, we were set. We started with the dolmas. Perfect mix of spices, grape leaves and rice. Next the Shepard's stew. The broth itself was a delight. Add in the lamb, beef and veggies-wow! Husband had the gyro. Meat was tender, flavorful, pita was tasty, the blend of it all was phenomenal says him. We ended with the Baklava and a turkish coffee. Perfection. read more

One of the best places in Anchorage for dinner, hands down. Always ask for the special

Nick has done a great job with this place. The food is fantastic, I especially like the tzatziki; which has a bit of a spicy kick to it and is almost a meal in itself, and the Doner Kabob-make sure to order it with its special sauce for an extra $2; divine! I need to get one of his fish specials next time. Last week he also cooked Duck L'Orange which the waiter did not tell me about. But Nick brought some over after we had eaten and it was fantastic! Limited but good wine list of very affordable wines. Highly recommend a reservation as it is a small place and usually packed. read more

Turkish Delight - Adana - Turkish Near Me - Anchorage, Alaska

Fabulous Turkish food , fast , clean , friendly and delicious. A delightful Turkish family run restaurant with a genuine flavor of Turkey. read more

Turkish Delight has a lovely, welcoming and cozy atmosphere when you walk in. There are about 12 tables (I believe) and a few seats up at the bar. It is so relaxing when there is the Bouzouki (Greek Guitar) Player in the corner of the restaurant. This is a wonderful restaurant that caters mostly to adults! The food is truly divine!!!! My husband ordered the Murrati's Köfte (Greek meatballs with seasoned rice and salad on the side) and everything was delicious! The meatballs were so flavorful and tender, the rice had a light, fluffy texture with amazing seasonings and the salad was a garden salad with a citrusy/olive oil blend dressing and some spices. I had the chicken kebab with rice and salad, also. It was a bit spicier yet seasoned and grilled to perfection! Finally, we had a generous side dish of tzatziki sauce and grilled pita bread. Oh my yummy deliciousness!!!!! We had ordered a take-out order and everything tasted so good like as if you were eating it right there in the restaurant! Definitely visit this restaurant when you get the chance. It is Mediterranean Awesomeness! read more

We were seated promptly, very nice restaurant with great ambiance. We had the Anitoli salad to start, it was very good, "could be the best salad I've ever had". My wife had the moussaka and it was incredible. It was a special, not sure if it is on the regular menu but it was amazing. I had the donee kebab which was also amazing, but the moussaka was just incredible and I ended up "helping" my wife with her dish! Great place with great service, I believe his name was Jay. Great experience! Thanks! read more

Stopped here since the food sounded good, even though there were not a lot of reviews. And we were both very pleased. Food was perfectly prepared. Great atmosphere (although the location/parking lot was questionable) Would definitely come back and recommend to friends read more

This was quite tasty after the long drive from Fairbanks - really nice atmosphere and we were happy that we could effortlessly get take out.

Very tasty food and good service in a nice space. I always enjoy creating a mezze. Their Shakshuka version is fabulous.

I have heard good reviews of this place and I'm very open to new foods! When I finally came to this place, I ordered one of the specials called Musakka and it was very delicious! The rice was a great consistency- not too hard or soft. The ground beef had a lot of flavor and the thick melted cheese on top was magnificent. My friend ordered the falafel which was also very tasty and came with a tasty refreshing salad. We drank turkish coffee which I wasn't expecting to have a grainy texture. The only downside was that the food took a long while to cook and the proportions were a little smaller than expected. The service was good and was quite busy around 8-9 on a Tuesday night! read more
