    Special lo mein
    Tim C.

My wife and I enjoyed our visit to Turan Uyghur Kitchen. They have a daily lunch special that ends at 3 pm. They have a regular much more extensive menu too. The lunch one gives you an entree, a cup of soup ( we both chose wonton soup, a fried spring roll and fried rice....for $13.95. My wife enjoyed the moo goo gai pan and I enjoyed the special lo mein. Everything we tried was exceptional. They offer you a teapot of hot tea....gratis, and it was very good...this is a nice touch. This is their third restaurant, they have one on Bellaire too and another in the DFW area. Our next visit we need to try some Uyghur regional specialties. This cuisine is from the northwest part of China. Nice people.

Was tricked by their AI image created ad. Sounded amazing. Reality bad. Half the food was empty. The food I did have was bland and cold and overcooked and dry. Very sad I spent $21 here for the one plate that was really all the food I can scrape out of the buffet thing.

Three chopped onions with some lamb

The address is not accurate and if you try to call customer service, you get an AI agent and you cannot get to a human. Absolutely frustrating. What a terrible waste. Update: Google has the correct address. Ordered the dumplings which were great and the cumin lamb which was essentially three chopped onions with maybe 1/2 cup of cumin lamb. Ridiculous. Service is great, though!

I only had the lagman and Turan tea, and I loved both! The reason for the 3 stars -- and why I won't be coming back -- is the cleanliness. We came around 11 AM, and while my friend and I were eating lunch, the staff were sweeping and mopping around us, which made the whole experience uncomfortable. The booths were also dirty, with food crumbs everywhere, and the tablecloths had oily spots on them. I actually had to clean the table myself before eating.

03/04/26- No other sauces needed. Flavorful spices, meat options (of course lamb, beef, chicken), or vegetarian.

The noodles, dumplings, and naan are all handmade tasty. You must order the dumplings! The regular portions, for 1 full plate is enough for 1 person. 2 people is good to share, but definitely family portions when ordering more. Spices and flavors are not too salty, not overwhelming. A must to try if you haven't had. I had some in China and it's a great food palate to experience. Lunch special combo is recommended and enough varieties to pick for 1 person to enjoy. They serve you with sweet, iced black tea, not too sweet. The manager could speak several languages so that would be too much to add in the menu to read.

Got the Korma chop and thought it would be more flavorful but wasn't. The staff was nice.

There are several…read morelocations around Houston, but I especially like this Katy Freeway location because it offers weekday specials that provide excellent value. Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., they offer a lunch special with one kebab and two sides for $17. They also have a happy hour Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. with one kebab and two sides for $15, which is a great deal. The kebab options typically include chicken, beef, lamb, or shrimp. To my knowledge, the other Fadi's locations do not offer these specials. On my most recent visit, I stopped by for happy hour. While the kebabs aren't necessarily my favorite item on the menu, it's hard to beat a meal with one kebab and two sides for $15. I chose the pomegranate eggplant, fried cauliflower, and their "Mama Ganoush," a roasted eggplant dip similar to baba ganoush. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Each meal also comes with a warm pita bread that is served fresh from the oven. The ordering process is simple: grab a tray, move down the line, and choose from the foods on display before paying at the register. The staff are always friendly, and there's plenty of seating inside. If you're looking for fresh, authentic Mediterranean food in the Katy area, Fadi's is an easy recommendation.

The biggest turn off was the pita bread. The last time I came was 1+ year ago and the pita breads were to die for. I'm not sure if they had lowered the quality since then. Very sad. Fadi was my favorite Mediterranean chain in Houston.

Looking for a new Mediterranean location I picked this one because one of my yelp friends gave it…read moregood reviews! They open at 10:30am, I showed up at 10:35am. Two workers were there, but unfortunately they said "the cooks aren't at work yet". They showed up about 5 minutes later as I was standing in the parking lot outside the door & they said to give them 10 minutes. I decided to run an errand & came back 30 minutes later. My order was a to-go. Upon my return, it took about 15 minutes for the food to be ready. I ordered the chicken curry lunch platter which comes with salad, rice & hummus. - Chicken curry (4/5)- quite unique curry sauce (kinda thick, can't place the spices) with tender chunks of chicken. - Salad (4.5/5) - Salad had a garlic dressing/sauce which elevated the basic lettuce salad & made it quite flavorful. - Hummus (3/5) - it was just ok for me. I've had some hummus at other Mediterranean places lately that are really fantastic so those have become my baseline. They have a garlic dip which I ordered as a side item, it's the most unique dip. It's whipped to a mashed potato consistency. It's good, different. When you mix the garlic dip into the hummus it upgrades the hummus flavor. - Lentil soup (3.5/5) I was expecting to have spoonfuls of actual whole lentils but this soup has the lentils puréed so it's just a little thicker than a broth soup with no visible lentils. The flavor is good, I can taste the black pepper (but it's not hot). I just prefer less of a puréed soup. Lots of pita bread was provided. The worker taking my order thanked me for coming back. Hopefully it's not a pattern for them not to be ready when the doors open.

From generous portions to amazing naan bread I love love coming here. Their cherry rice is just top tier here and it goes so well. I had never had cherry rice before coming here and I'm hooked!. It's the kind of spot that works just as well for a casual dinner as it does for a relaxed night out with friends or family. We started off with the lentil soup, which was comforting and flavorful--light yet satisfying, with a nice balance of spices. The hummus was smooth, creamy, and elevated even more by the complimentary fresh bread, which came out warm and perfectly baked--easily one of the highlights of the meal. For mains, the Koobideh Combination stole the show. The kababs were juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly, with that classic smoky flavor that makes Persian kabobs so good. Definitely the standout dish and a must-order. The Salmon & Chicken combo was equally impressive--both proteins were tender, nicely grilled, and paired beautifully with the saffron rice and grilled vegetables, giving you a great mix of flavors and textures. We also tried the Soujuk & Cheese Lahmajun, which added a nice twist to the meal. It had a crispy base with rich, savory toppings, and the cheese brought everything together really well--great for sharing. Avesta is a solid go-to for Persian cuisine in Houston. Between the quality of the kababs, fresh bread, and overall flavor, everything hit the mark. Pair that with the great atmosphere and welcoming staff, and it's definitely a place worth coming back to
