My husband and I ate here many years ago that it doesn't even count since we couldn't remember our experience. We ordered in the drive-thru during that time. Thus, we were literally in shock when we entered into the venue and realized that it is a SIT-DOWN RESTAURANT! I didn't think it would be fast food style like Popeye's or KFC. However, I imagined it would be along the line of Cane's, but a little more upscale. My first reaction was, "Aww man, I'm going to have to pay more for something that is already sort of pricey." I'm thinking in terms of tipping. HOWEVER, I actually had a really great time here. The menu is simple, yet unique simultaneously with monthly special burgers and Korean inspired flavors. I LOVE the fact that you can substitute the crispy chicken for GRILLED. I'm all about eating out, enjoying food, but also trying to select better options. Healthy eating doesn't mean boring! This place seems like an American/Korean fusion restaurant, or an Americanized version of Bon Chon. The vibe is really cozy, intimate, and chill. It's a great spot to casually hang out with friends or family. The wait for the chicken was long, BUT it was worth the wait. The food was hot and fresh. The Korean BBQ OG Grilled Chicken Sandwich - It was huge! Even though I am a petite 95 lb lady, I devoured that sandwich. The flavor wasn't an authentic Korean flavor, but it wasn't bad! It was more sour and salty for my taste. I think it would balance out more if there were no pickles, and a mixture of the kimchi carrot slaw + regular mayo based coleslaw. Szechuan Fries - The Szechuan mustard sauce is powerful and incredibly overwhelming. I do NOT recommend that sauce at all. I think if you order these fries, just OMIT that mustard sauce. I felt like all my sinuses cleared up and my eye balls were about to pop out. Dirty Fries - You can't go wrong with cheese fries. I am not a sour person, so I didn't enjoy the pickles on the fries. Our server, Brenna, was INCREDIBLE! She is the main reason why this review is getting a 5 star. She didn't know that it was basically our first time and she still gave us exceptional service. She was friendly, patient, and sweet. We ordered the Szechuan Fries because it was a free offer upon signing up for their rewards program. I told her I didn't like the mustard sauce and she offered to get us the Dirty Fries! I was like, "What?!" The fries were already free, so I didn't expect her to even offer a substitution. ALSO, for the Kid's Meal, she let us know that the side could be substituted for something else at no extra charge. If she didn't make that known to us, we would have had no idea. I'm glad she mentioned it because the boys LOVE mac & cheese, so that was perfect. Also, we were already getting fries, so it helped us to get more variety. All in all, the place is a little expensive, but I had a great time. The service was superb, the food was great, and I noticed that they are involved in the community. Accustomed to Houston hot chicken, Red Chickz and the like, I causally walked into Tumble 22 fully expecting a fast casual, order at the counter experience. Boy was I surprised to be seated by a hostess only to glance around to find a bar, enclosed patio and semi open kitchen. Did the meal itself differ from its fast casual counterparts? Not by much, but the offerings were more robust. I love to see pie on the menu alongside shakes, and while Mac and cheese and fries are welcome, orange chicken, Korean spices, broccoli salad, collards and heavenly eggs are a welcome change of pace. Our first trip (dine in) was about a 4-5 star experience. I waiter was not the most attentive and the food took quite awhile but the experience was positive enough for me to return. The second trip was a drive thru experience and it was...not as pleasant. Our service wasn't the best, our attendant less than enthused to be doing their job. A matter of fact, I felt like I was bothering her by ordering. While my food was fine, my sandwich came without napkins and again the food (one sandwich) took quite awhile. Service was awesome. They were very welcoming and they stopped by often at the table. It was our first time and they helped guide us through the choices. We ordered our food: half mixed bone in chicken for my husband, I ordered two piece boneless thighs, my son ordered Korean fried tenders. We got the Mo-hot spice level which was perfect. The amount of food on each plate was really good, we had leftovers. My 21 year old son could only finish 1.5 of the strips. The fries are shoestring style and pretty good, the bone in chicken reheats the best of all. It was better the second day. I also ordered the deviled eggs with a piece of candied bacon on top, they were really good and helped to calm the spiciness of the chicken perfectly. First let me just rave about how wonderful our waiter Darwin was. He made suggestions, he helped my husband in making a decision by bringing small samples to the table, and overall he was just awesome. Another special mention goes to Mr. Picky's tall glass of Arnold Palmer. So often restaurants serve you something that tastes bitter and nasty, but the iced tea and lemonade in this were sweet and really pleasant, a lovely surprise. Mr. Picky selected boneless, while I went for the half chicken all dark meat. Between us we had broccoli salad, mac & cheese, coleslaw and fries. Sauces were comeback, hot honey, ranch and honey mustard, and the Comeback was my favorite. Of the sides, I liked the broccoli salad and coleslaw the best, while Mr. Picky pretty much ignored them all and just focused on dipping his boneless chicken into the hot honey sauce. They make their own pies, which I think is wonderful. Dessert was the pecan chocolate toffee pie and Key lime pie, with the kitchen splitting them both so that we could get tastes of each. This is one of my favorite places both for the quality, environment, and service, but also because it's so close by. I ate here for the first time in July when they had a fundraiser, and started coming back more frequently on Tuesdays when they have deals on specific items from 4-6pm. I've brought so many friends here, and honestly I think about coming here at least once a week. I start out with their dirty fries, which are normal french fries with a mild nacho cheese, topped with shredded chicken and pickles. I then order some tenders, usually just hot because anything hotter than that is too much to handle imo, with comeback sauce. These tenders are pretty big, so an order of two is enough for me to take leftovers home. I usually get mac and cheese, which is so creamy and filling that I usually also end up taking it home as well. If not mac and cheese, I'll order their broccoli salad. My favorite drink from here is the Lil Larry. It's pretty strong, so I opt for this instead of the big larry. As for their pies, Ive tried the pecan chocolate toffee pie, which is so good, but I would only order if I'm REALLY craving something sweet. I've ordered their key lime pie, but I'm not sure if I got a bad batch. The time I ordered it, it had some type of lard taste to it. Like enough to where I couldn't finish it the taste was so apparent. I've also ordered their chocolate cream pie, which is real simple and creamy! Definitely a safe choice if you don't want anything too sweet after eating. Just to add: I've brought a friend here once who was iffy because she had gone to the Memorial location before and wasn't too happy with her experience, and once she ate here she was pleasantly surprised! It did take about 20 minutes, but I would never complain about fresh made to order chicken so I did not mind waiting . Have been wanting to try this place out but it's not exactly a skip and hop away from home. Glad I was able to come and try it out. The customer service was excellent here. I really enjoyed how they let us sample the sides and some of the spice levels of chicken. Think about it, if it's your first time at a restaurant and what if you get a side you aren't fond of or the spice level is too much or not enough. You may not enjoy your experience of the food as much and be decline to not come back. With that being said my favorite sides were the Mac and cheese and Broccoli. They both give a good balance when eating something spicy. Mac and cheese was real creamy, it might be cause of them using mascarpone. Fries has were meh it not really fond of them. Glad I didn't do any of the quick pick fries options. It needed some kind of seasoning or maybe different style cut. I got the 1/4 white bone in mo'hot chicken. Which I don't see many places doing bone in. The chicken were a decent size and real crispy. If you let it sit then the crispiness goes away on the bottom. I had a Cobb salad half it was a good size sure glad I didn't get a full one. My daughter got a chicken sandwich and it was huge

Never before have I felt like a VIP my first time anywhere, but our server Jordan made sure of it. He brought out the "first timers" tray, which had an assortment of chicken bites with heat levels 0-2 (and he brought out level 3 upon request) and little taster cups of all of the sides. I saw the size of the sandwiches at the table next to us and opted not to get a side, but if I had a bigger appetite, I would've gotten the mac or broccoli salad (a surprise hit!). I got the Tupelo hot honey sandwich at level 2 heat, and it was delicious and spicy without the heat overpowering the rest of the sandwich. I actually didn't have room for the whole sandwich, so we got slices of the buttermilk pie and pecan pie to go. I had some of each pie for breakfast with coffee this morning and once again, this place has hit after hit.
