Pros: Friendly and inclusive Cons: Vegan options are limited and had run out by the time I ordered. My back up option was chicken and waffles. I did not care for the hot maple syrup and the chicken was not flavorful. It looked seasoned but was a cajun season topper of some sort. The chicken tasted too fresh if that makes sense. My son was not pleased with th tap water only option. The manager was not accommodating. She told me it was nothing she could do about me not liking my meal. Offered 1/2 off

What a find we had sometime before we needed to head to the airport and we decided to visit this restaurant. Wow they did not disappoint great food and the service was incredible. The restaurant has beautiful decor. We will definitely be back.

Delicious breakfast and generous portions. The board was more than enough to share, service was good, and the drinks hit. Fun, bright space with colorful murals that make it a vibe.

Tulua is a gem! I started my morning with a black coffee. They'll sweeten it with any flavor, like vanilla. The side of potatoes was just right, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with flavor. My main dish was the strawberry French toast, and it was heavenly. Toast was thick. The edges had a satisfying crunch, the middle was perfectly soft, and it was topped with fresh strawberries and a light dusting of powdered sugar. A total treat! The hubs ordered the Godzilla omelette, and it lived up to the name--generous and full of flavor. The onions, peppers, and tomatoes were all beautifully caramelized. He already says he'd order it again. The atmosphere at Tulula's is vibrant and welcoming, clean, colorful, chic, and artsy. It just makes you feel good to be there. They're known for their charcuterie boards, which you can build yourself or let the chef create for you. After this incredible breakfast, I definitely want to come back and try one! There is also another room for private parties. And they have bottomless mimosas! The music was great, and our server Michele was absolutely wonderful--kind, attentive, and full of great info. She let us know they host drag shows every 4th Saturday of the month--we're already planning our return visit. So glad we discovered this place. Highly recommend!

Beautiful spot so much space

Had the BEST brunch at Tulua Bistro today Amanda and I came here and honestly the highlight was Karla!! She was sooo sweet, attentive, and made the whole experience feel extra special. You can tell she really cares about her customers and her energy was just amazing. Also the atmosphere in here is so beautiful so much space Food was already great but Karla made it 10x better. If you come here, ask for her!!

This is an all day brunch joint in the historic Springfield neighborhood of Jacksonville. The interior has an odd feel, kind of like a Chinese takeout place, but with way more of those tables and chairs that people mostly don't sit at. But don't let that fool you. The food is great, the drinks are great, the service is great. They have a full bar. You can order one of their specialty cocktails (we didn't), but because it's a brunch place, mimosas are featured, along with other brunch drinks. I had an awesome Bloody Mary and my girl had a Poinsettia (cran and bubbly). The menu is extensive. There are lots of breakfast and lunch options. I had the Godzilla Omelette. It was a two meal dish. It's loaded, and very tasty. My girl had the Veggie Benedict with grits. The Hollandaise was very good, the grits were creamy and delicious. In the end, I'd hit this place again when I'm in Springfield. Highly recommended!

Love the Springfield location. The dining area is spacious and even though there's usually a wait, it's never that long. And honestly I'm ok with a wait as this means it's a popular spot that everyone is trying to get into. The atmosphere is fun, the wait staff was pleasant but at times when they seemed very busy became flustered and inattentive. The food is very good for the most part. We did have a hiccup with some undercooked biegnets once, however that was quickly rectified and replaced with something else. I absolutely love the breakfast board options and the bottomless mimosas are always the star of the show Despite the minor occasional issue, Im always drawn back.

Gummy Martini

Me, my cousin, and her friends decided to celebrate her birthday with brunch at Tulua Bistro. I had read glowing reviews about the food and atmosphere, but after visiting, I can only assume those reviewers were at a different restaurant... or in a different dimension entirely. From the moment I walked in, I felt about as welcome as a cat at a dog park, but I brushed it off, thinking maybe they were just busy. Our waitress, however, was in such a hurry that every question felt like we were asking her to solve a riddle. At one point, she even rolled her eyes at that moment I knew we weren't exactly in for five-star service. My cousin and her friend bravely ordered the bottomless mimosas, only to be informed they were served with dry champagne. I ordered the "Gummy Martini," which on Instagram looked like the candy-coated cocktail of dreams. What I got looked like its sad, distant cousin. The rainbow gummies were skewered on a toothpick like they were awaiting execution, and I practically needed tweezers to fish them out without dunking my fingers in the drink. For food, I went with the "Not a Basic Bitch" hashbrown dish, ironically, it managed to be exactly that: basic. The bottom was so crunchy I thought I'd accidentally bitten into a tortilla chip, the avocado looked like it had lived a rough life, and the pico de gallo was hanging on for dear life. My cousin's pancakes looked fine, but her breakfast bowl was such a disaster we didn't dare send it back, we weren't ready to roll the dice again. And to top it off? Even with just four of us, they automatically added gratuity. Apparently, math works differently here. We paid, we left, and we'll definitely not be back. Tulua Bistro: come for the vibes you saw on Instagram, stay for the comedy of errors.

How to pick your breakfast board.

Been wanting to try to stop by Tulua Bistro and try their Breakfast Board. This small size features two sides, two sweets, one meat, and one specialty item. The two sweets are French toast and pancakes. The sides include hash browns and fresh fruit. The meat option is sausage patties, and the specialty item is shrimp and grits. Pancakes: 4/5 Delicious French Toast: 0/5 - these weren't not edible at all. It's like they fried the bread. Greasy. Not a bit of batter touched this bread. I like a classic French Toast. Cooked on a griddle. These were not it! Hash Browns: 4.5/5 cooked perfectly. Seasoning on them gave it a nice kick. Sausage Patties: 4/5 They are your typical sausage patties. Cooked well. Shrimp & Grits: 3.5/5. The shrimp were seasoned well. Wish they could've put that seasoning into the grits. They were just their normal grits. Overall a good visit. Will be back. Next time I'll try the waffles. With some tweaks and consistency, the breakfast boards can be top-notch. The service was really good. Server was always making sure we were taken care of. The decor really set's this place apart. The art on the walls is amazing.

Veggie Benedict

There was a positive atmosphere and the food was good. I enjoyed the fruit instead of grits as a side. Would also recommend getting a breakfast burrito.

Went to this spot the day after christmas for brunch. The food was good, i ordered the breakfast burrito and my husband had the shrimp and grits. We both had mimosas, mine pineapple and his was strawberry, both delicious. The only complaint was the wait time. I think it took a little too long between the time we ordered and when we got our food. we actually had to check with the waiter to make sure they didn't forget us. Other than that, it was a nice place.

**Review of Tulua Bistro Springfield** My recent visit to Tulua Bistro Springfield was a multifaceted experience, marked by both commendable highlights and areas for improvement. Upon arrival, I was immediately impressed by the exceptional customer service; our server was notably friendly, attentive, and contributed positively to the overall atmosphere. For my meal, I ordered the "Slutty Potatoes," a dish comprised of potatoes generously topped with onions, bacon, peppers, sausage, sausage gravy, and cheese. The food was served fresh and was quite flavorful. However, I found the portion of sausage gravy to be insufficient, which left the dish slightly lacking in the richness I had anticipated. One aspect that detracted from my dining experience was the water provided--it was clearly tap water with ice, which did not meet my expectations for beverage quality. Additionally, there were some environmental factors that impacted my comfort. During my visit, a drag show was taking place. While I appreciate that such events may appeal to many patrons, it is not personally to my taste, and the accompanying loud music made conversation difficult. The limited seating further compounded this issue; before being seated, we were required to wait at the bar due to a lack of available tables. There was also some confusion regarding the seating policy, as one staff member mentioned a $25 charge to sit at the bar, which was unclear and somewhat frustrating. In summary, while Tulua Bistro Springfield excels in customer service and offers appetizing dishes, there are certain aspects--such as beverage quality, clarity in seating policies, and the overall ambiance during special events--that could benefit from refinement. With a few adjustments, this establishment has the potential to provide an even more enjoyable dining experience.

My husband and I went on a much needed date night tonight. I've always wanted to give BB's a try…read moreand finally convinced him! We ordered the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer, they were phenomenal! Then we both decided on steak for dinner. I got the filet, and ordered it medium rare and it was perfect. My husband ordered the ribeye and his was medium, his was also spot on. Then of course, we had to get dessert. I got the German chocolate cake (this apparently isn't their normal one) and my husband got the dulce cheesecake. The waitress we had was great, and she recommended lots of tips and favorites to try. The only negative thing that I would say is that it's a bit cramped, so it was very loud and hard to hear each other at points. This was an amazing dinner. We will be back

Had a fantastic double date tonight celebrating my girlfriend's birthday! We were greeted warmly…read moreand given a nice table in the dining room. Our waiter, Evan, was very proactive & offered suggestions with menu items. We started with some cocktails, the gentlemen with the cider beer & an old fashioned. I chose a glass of bubbly & the birthday girl had the fizz cocktail. It was incredible with a fresh blackberry puree. We started with the fried green tomatoes & the calamari, both were delicious! Calamari was prepared well and not too chewy. We shockingly each chose a salad: the bistro steak, the chop chop Asian, the goat cheese, and the salmon. Each one was incredible. Mine was the chop chop and I absolutely loved it! It was HUGE and you can bet I ate every single bite. Loved it!' We finished with the brownie topped with ice cream for the birthday girl, it was extremely tasty! Thanks again to Evan for making our night! He was a fantastic waiter! Would absolutely request him in the future.
