We stopped by with a couple of friends for drinks right after they opened around 5 PM. It was quite a contrast to walk from the bright afternoon sun into such a dimly lit space--the interior was so dark that our friend actually had to use their phone light to read the menu! My wife and I ordered at the bar and received quick service. Since it was early, the vibe was quiet, with only a movie playing on the screen. We only stayed for about 30 minutes, but it was a pleasant, chill atmosphere. It was quite a shock to step back outside and be blinded by the sun afterward. Overall, a cool spot with a great vibe for a quick drink. read more

We decided to go to Dos Gatos after sitting at The Volstead for several hours we decided to make our way to its unofficial Sister bar. This place, like Volstead, is great and shows off the Mixology in downtown during this awesome era. The art is risqué and the drinks are strong. We will definitely be back. I really enjoyed the larger bar area and acoustics of this place and look forward to staying here longer. read more

Great vibe at this bar and the drinks were great too! Friendly front door and bartenders. Right across from the Florida theatre. Plenty of parking in the lot next door. read more

This is my favorite cocktail spot in DTJAX! Right across the street from the Florida Theater it has an intimate lounge vibe and has TV's! Once you walk past the bar there is a huge seating area in the back, weekends (i think) they have a DJ. Jazz the bartender was amazing! This is the perfect place to watch a Jags away game, grab a drink before the show or wind down after work. My go to is the medium spiced margarita, the Edinburgh scotch cocktail and a PBR & shot of fernet. Apparently the stuffed bear is real read more

KC is a great bartender, attentive and will let you know that he is available if you need him. I started off with the Mexican radio and the drink is strong! Which is perfect right?! Made to perfection. We had 1 tequila shot that came with an orange (a little different but I liked it) And I ended the evening with a yuzu ginger margarita which was very flavorful and also strong. The vibe in here is nice!! Music at the right volume to still be able to hold a conversation and looks to have a lot of regulars. I will definitely be back! read more

We've been to Dos Gatos twice now, both times as part of drink challenges in downtown Jackosonville. The vibes in this place are off the charts! It was busier the first time we went but the servers we're very quick to get to everyone and we enjoyed our drinks. We never had any idea this place was here but we're glad we know now! read more

Take a picture by the big bear, indulge in whatever their limited time drinks are- they're super creative and delicious. The campfire espresso martini had a toasted marshmallow! Talk about aroma and taste! Red-dark lights and speakeasy vibes are well balanced with an attentive bar staff and DJ. The bathrooms aren't bad. read more

We visited dos gatos around 10pm on a Friday night. There was a large group of us, and they carded each of us at the door. The service at this place was super fast, and the staff was friendly. The music inside was a bit of a trip too, they had a bunch of mid-2000s playing as we walked in which felt right up my alley. My friend basically said, "tell them whatever you want, even the most obscure drinks not on the menu, and they'll make it, and it'll be amazing", and honestly they lived up to that review 100%. For our big group, they made a lemon drop martini, 3 varieties of mojitos, a sazerac, a Negroni, a bees knees, a corpse reviver, a ramos, and a whiskey sour (along with some other generic drinks). They knocked every single drink out of the park, and I was so impressed by the versatility of these bartenders and how detail oriented they were. This was a great stop and I'd definitely go back! read more

Their drink menu is spot on creative. Ordering a flammer is well worth the cost. ** get your phone out ** and we just happened to stumble into Tuesday music bingo!!! What a freaking blast!!! Excellent MC. It was on my "must check out" new to town list and sooooo glad I did. read more

Absolutely delicious food! The guacamole, tacos and even their quesadillas was delightful! The service was quick, and the servers very friendly. It was a a chilly when we went and the back door was open so the draft was a little bothersome. It was a little loud, but not too loud. Could have a conversation no problem read more

It's a pretty decent place. I imagine that it probably gets busy or more rowdy than when I was here, but it was still pretty loud. They had a DJ doing some stuff and lots of people coming in and out. The drinks were decent. Maybe a bit on the expensive side but overall good quality and presentation. What this place is really good at is "setting a mood". It has a nice ambience and it can vary depending on the hour and the day. It's a good place to check out if you're bar hopping, meeting friends, or on a date. read more

Great music, great atmosphere and service and delicious cocktails. I've been here a few times and they never disappoint!

Cool bar that feels like a 1920's speakeasy. Friendly staff. I'd go back for sure. They have a great old fashioned.

On of the owners was our bartender - I asked for Tajin on the rim instead of salt and he said "I will have it when you come back". He knew we were heading out of town and I didn't make it back for it, but I bet he got it. Every drink was amazing and the service was impeccable. Beautiful atmosphere. read more

Needed to kill an hour before a show, and as an amante de los gatos, the name sold this place before I ever stepped foot inside. The atmosphere was dim but warm, and I found a high top across from the bar to socialize and watch football on the TV. I selected the Puddle Jumper because I like rum, and the description states, "a lot of rum is never too much." It indeed had a lot of rum and was very enjoyable. The place was not too loud to have a decent conversation, and it is large enough to find a seat for any type of group. There were people of all ages enjoying each other, enjoying the football, and just enjoying life. I wish I had a place like this closer to where I live, but next time I am in Jacksonville, I'm going to be sure to make a return visit to enjoy more of this fun establishment and the beverages they offer! read more

Such cool cats~ Dos Gatos just had this low light~ sexy vibe going. Another gorgeous bar here in Jax, Debbie- my guide was braggin about the bands that would play in the back on the weekends. I can only imagine how kicking Dos Gatos is in all its glory. We were there on our bourbon passport run, Angel's Envy- toast the trees for the specialty drink offered and while the smell put us off, the taste won us over! And while we were drinking the bartender was stocking fresh mint and the smell hit us~ oh, how delightful! I love mint and just seeing all the fresh ingredients the have on hand for drinks made me appreciate them more. The are best known for the jalapeno margarita- a drink I can't have, but apparently it is phenomenal! Thank you to Debbie- my bar tour guide! I am not too old to bar hop ;) read more

Right when you walk in this joint is good and gets better as I get more drinks going. I ordered a vodka dirty martini and it's good. Like it feels like drinking from the fountain of youth good, it's true that I'm famished And dying of thirst from walking the street of downtown Jax. I can't nail the crowd down and it's frustrating to me.... Gay dudes to my left and goth figures to my right, then some mix group of fun across the way. I like it and I like the decor of this joint. I'm going to stay a minute. Bar tenders - hot and on it! McKayla is the best. Drinks- good. No food However across the street is some legit food you can bring back to the bar, they don't care read more

Haven't been inside yet, everytime I have come here with my girlfriend they have a different answer at the door about ID's. Today we presented a valid out of country driver license and they won't let us enter because they are "only trained" to check US drivers licenses... we are 40 years old and I have money to spend! Get better training I guess ‍ i would love to come check this place out but how are you not going to allow patrons with valid identification?? read more

Dos Gatos is always a win. You know what to expect here, decent drinks, upscaled prices and the typical clientele of business professional, pre and post event drinkers and the occasional weirdo. Its a nice blend. The decor is awesome with super dark lighting. The back area is usually empty. Very chill spot unless its it's a dj night or something going on. read more

I have been here twice and neither time left me disappointed. The lounge appeals to a diverse group of folks. If you want a cocktail or just relax with a few friends this is the place for you. Cute place. Went with some friends. We got there early and sat at a table. We were there for a good 15 minutes and the bar was hopping. I know they saw us but didn't say anything to us. We finally figured we had to go to the bar to get service. When we got there the bartender told us their cocktail waitress doesn't get there until 9pm. Ok.. well you could have mentioned that to us when we walked in and sat. So we ordered our drinks and they were delicious. It's pretty dark and chill in the bar, cool scene. Ordered 2 more drinks and as each drink came you could tell the same amount of liquor was not like the first one. When ten female bartender took our 3rd and final drink order she kinda looked like she was over making the same drinks for us.... Kind of weird body language. But whatever. Sorry we liked the drink we got and wanted to continue enjoying it. Parking blows but they can't help that cuz it is downtown across from the Florida theater. read more
