Best Dive Bar hands down in Jacksonville. the Bartenders are great, the drinks are a good. Dont come in here expecting a fancy drink it's a dive bar. Even though the bartenders can definitely hook it up. the karaoke is great 7 nights starts at 8:30pm. The DJ's are great at their job. the atmosphere is safe and friendly. Carrie went back a d added herself a 330 tip after hearing I was in a bad accident the night I was at the bar. I contacted Gabrielle and she admitted they found it. Instead of just putting it back on my card I was told I have to come in. They know I'm in critical care and can't come so I asked why do I have to come in are you giving me cash ? I needed to know because I was going to send my 80 yr old mother to collect it because they literally drained my bank acct and I am getting 15 over draft fees on autopaybills that are being rejected. Came to Jax to visit friends and they took me to McB's, where Janette took care of us. She is a treasure as she was super fast to serve us, made us laugh and was a sweetheart. Karaoke was OFF THE HOOK. The regulars are super cool and I can't wait to come back! read more

Finally found a place in Jax that offers Karaoke more than 2 nights a week! (McB's offers it all 7!) The tradeoff? Good luck finding your wind to sing! This place ranks in the top 5 of smokiest bars I've ever visited. Went last Friday to sing, the rotation wasn't terrible but I didn't have much time to offer. No books, no papers, just go up to the host and give her your name, and tell her which song you'd like to sing. The drinks here are great! Nice and stiff. There is also pool to play. I didn't check out the bathroom, so can't sound off on that. If you're bothered by smoke, no good. If you can tolerate it, McB's is worth a looksee. Country dive bar, I would call it. read more

Buckle the fuck up because here we go. I really wanted to like this place. I have heard so highly from friends. The first time I have ever attended, I had a lot of fun. I got to sing, I got some good, cold and cheap drinks. Never again. Let's start with the karaoke DJ. This Asshole. The very next time I went, I waited 1 hour. Not a problem because of the amount of singers. I was fine with that. I watched the singers scroll down on the screen, paying attention to when it was my turn to sing. When it came to my turn, I got skipped. Still not a problem. I went to the DJ and mentioned I got skipped. He replied, "I called your name 3 times". I WAS 10 FEET AWAY FROM THE DJ BOOTH. I told him this and asked if I could sing next. His reply; "No, you have to re-sign up and wait.". I notified management, paid my tab and left, vowing to never attend karaoke again as long as he was there, Fast forward to tonight (9-17-22). Same dude. Granted I got there late and couldn't sing time-wise. I won't fault film for that. We were enjoying ourselves, until about 1:30 when the DJ finished and tried to start taking our drinks, kicking us out of the venue and just being down right rude in general. It was about 1:40am and the venue seemed to want everyone to leave so my girlfriend asked if she could use the bathroom before leaving and a rude server in a green tank top made a comment about her being entitled. She just needed to use the bathroom before our drive home to Saint Augustine. I know you may be thinking that oh, she was likely drunk. That was not the case, we just got off work and dropped in for a beer and shot. We even paid our tab when they called last call at 1:30am. The door states that the venue closes at 2am. However we were being booted at 1:45. So it's either chug a beer I thought I had 15 minutes to drink or just leave it. I felt very rushed and attacked because I was trying to have an after work beverage. The DJ even came up and told us that the time on the wall was what the cops went by and that they would get "fined" if it went past 2am. My girlfriend is a bartender as well, the time is set forward to make sure people leave before 2am or at least near 2am.... it is in no way for police to fine you. I do not believe we will give this place a 4th try. We're done. However, I will say that the bartender was very polite and an absolute ray of sunshine. Thanks to her for making this trip at least slightly salvageable. read more

Went here on a Friday night with some friends and had a killer time singing, backup dancing and line dancing. I would mos def recommend the karaoke nights as there is plenty of space to really rock out with your um, flock out. The crowd is mainly locals and they are a bit older - waitresses are nice and the drinks comes out fast. For you gambles and pretend gambles, there is a scratch off ticket machine in the back for your gamblin' pleasure. Added bonus: when the DJ/Karaoke host sees that the crowd is quite inebriated, he puts on the electric slide. I don't know one person who doesn't LOVE the electric slide when they are completely wasted. read more

4 of us went out on a Friday night for some Karaoke. For a karaoke bar it was so so. From what I could tell there were alot of regulars with pool etc in the back. The karaoke system was fairly weak and only a few books to go around. The crowd was pretty dull - and maybe because we were new. They sang mostly country and red neck rock, we mixed it up with some Love Shack, Georgia Satellites, Beatles and it went over okay. Again the crowd was there to drink and smoke it seamed. They didn't serve food. The biggest bummer is that we now wreak of smoke. We probably won't go back. We left and found another karaoke place that was much better - Mudville. read more

Friendly place. Friendly staff, and bartender. It is a good place for a casual karaoke outing with friends if that's what you are looking for. It has karaoke a nights a week. It is, however on the downside, a very tiny bar for karaoke. A bit cramped in there. Smoking does go on, in and outside the bar, however. So, be aware of this before you go. There is pool tables. It is a very well worn place--been there in this neighborhood for as long as I can remember. It is well patronized by locals from the neighborhoods surrounding the area. The beer menu is decent, but not as wide in range as a lot of the other bar in town. Parking is good, and plentiful, however, I've known people who've had damage to there car in the past in the parking lot. It can get a little rowdy out there, from time to time. read more

McB's is one of my favorite bars in Jax. Karaoke 7 nights a week. 4 pool tables. Dartboards, golf and bowling games there too. Friendly staff. Buddy, the owner, can usually be found playing pool and hanging out. Very laid back place with lots of regulars. read more

Came here to relax after having a bad day at work to be greeted by a rude bartender who said they call last call at midnight & proceeded to be rude after I asked for a beer. Definitely not coming here again & the manager's can thank Debbie the bartender for that. Not recommending to anyone because it was such a horrible experience. read more

The most fun we've had in ages! It was like the movie Hangover! So many random things happened from the lap dances to the Karaoke to the proposal. The quintessential "DIVE" bar! We laughed so hard our cheeks hurt. We were there for a friends 40th and they were very sweet and welcoming. The Karaoke was a blast and so were the surprises for the Birthday girl!!! The people that I met were nice but the bar staff were too white trash for my liking, very rude. I got the feeling that the bartenders felt like they owned the business. Would not recommend. Too many great places to have fun in Jacksonville. read more
