I have been going to Tulip's for years... two sister run the place both are nice. I can remember back in the day (I sound like my mother ) it was standing room only. I will never defend bad service... I too have had a pedicure gone wrong however as a regular I will and can honestly say Ann is the best. Ann is the only person I let do my eye brows!! A friend and I went to tulips on 03/21/2023. There was no one in the salon and we wanted to be in and out. I needed a refill with two nails replaced and my friend wanted a full set. I showed the nail tech what I wanted and asked if she could do it, she said yes she could. As she was doing my nails the nail tech was making phone calls, leaving the station, and going to other nail tech. Then we had to switch nail techs...TWICE! When I went back to original nail tech she shaved the acrylic off the nail, reshaped them in a weird way, and made me bleed! Just when it can't get worse she doesn't paint my nails correctly AT ALL! My 7 year old could do a better paint job! My nails are glued to my fingers! I went back to get my money back because I was BEYOND upset! She gave me back $20. DO NOT GO HERE! Worst nail place I ever been to!!!! I went in for a gel polish change I usually spend 20 at most $25 and the 2 ladies took my credit card and I kept asking how much how much and she charged my credit card $40!!!!! Without my permission !!! Charged me $40 for a gel polish change just the polish change !!!!! I hate to write a bad review, but I could not stay quiet on this. Went in randomly to kill time before my trim next door at "Supercuts" which is another story and unfortunately, bad review. One person getting a pedicure in this dirty, dingy old salon. Bruskly told to sit down - I picked a color and sat. Went through the filing and cuticle cutting etc. put a base coat on and told me to sit at nail dryer. She sits next to me and starts with the color. A pretty pale blue. One coat and drying. Second coat and drying. Third coat and drying. She gets up and comes back with nail polish remover and starts taking the color off each nail. I was so baffled and said nothing. She chose a gel nail color darker - much - than what I chose and painted my nails with it. One coat. Then a couple coats of clear. So not what I wanted. Asked how much. She said $18. She opens my handbag to get my card and young girl runs it as I am saying "I have cash". Brings card back with a slip of paper and then she is in my bag again getting my cash. Asked how much tip. I said 4. But only 2 ones so I say take the 5. And then she is taking a $20 bill to pay for manicure and tells me the card machine did not work and gave me $2 change. I tell her I have hair appt next door and I'm late. She grabs my coat and handbag and walks me into Supercuts and hangs my coat and handbag and leaves. OMG. What a nutty nutty experience! read more

I went in to get an acrylic refill and was seated immediately. The woman doing my nails was so friendly, but I have to be honest she isn't the best nail tech. She burnt pretty much every finger with the nail drill, literally every single one! Refills are not supposed to hurt! I now have marks/scabs on 3 of my fingers... Not cute. Anyways, I left after the refill thinking everything was cool to realize the gel top coat she used had somehow warped the polish underneath, all of my nails looked horrible - I returned the next day and she fixed them and let them dry longer, still burning me with the drill. I felt bad because she was so kind but she cannot do nails. Sadly I don't think "being kind" is enough to make me return. The 3 stars are because I was seated immediately, the nail tech was kind, and she gave me no issues with having all of my nails fixed. read more

Tulip nail salon.... Hate to give you a bad rep but, sorry I'm not sorry. Yes, it is new and clean however... The service is lacking... 1. I'm all for a good scrub but... The cut on my ankle is not okay. 2. They guy that was giving me my pedicure stopped mid way and said he was busy... Another attendant ending up having to finish fifteen minutes later. 3. Although I must admit the female worker there was super friendly. But the overall pedicure was not great I can't give it a one because what else should I expect from a rando nail salon in this area. Okay about a 3 Went here for a mani-pedi with my mom over Easter weekend. We went on Friday 3-25-16 and the shop was pretty empty. My nail tech Rachel was very nice and I did not feel rushed which I prefer. She let me soak for a bit before my pedi and took her time. Overall the price was reasonable for the area. When calling places for pricing I forgot that South jersey nail places are much more expensive than Philly and this place was reasonable. The only reason my rating is not higher is she cut my cuticles too short on my fingernails and I had several nics/cuts where I could see a bit of blood. I've never experienced that and I don't want to be at risk with unclean practices. read more

Honestly the worst salon experience I've ever had. Before my service: walked in, only two other people there and three techs. Place is old and looks slightly dirty but I was desperate. Seated immediately in a pedicure chair During: pedicure tech kept leaving me to perform other services and also kept saying to me and others who walked in "long time no see" as if we frequent the salon. The lady next to me said it was her first time too. The woman was doing things so quickly it was actually jolting and not relaxing in one bit. She put a clay masque on my legs (I didn't ask for). Before polishing, I was moved to my manicure station. A different lady propped my feet up on a little stool and squatted to paint my toes. Very awkward. During my manicure everything was going okay. The lady pulled out the paint color which was completely wrong then I had picked so I told her. Meanwhile, the same woman who I was talking during during my pedicure, still has not been started. This woman must have sat 40 minutes before her service started. After: time to pay the woman says $60 for manicure and spa pedicure. I did not ask for a spa pedicure but I guess that was what the clay was earlier. I refused to pay as I did not agree to that service. She said $50 instead. I paid and got the hell out of there. Absolutely the worst pedicure I have had in my life. Not only did I sit in the chair waiting for an hour in an empty salon - people came and left while I waited - but it was also the most painful I've ever had. She advised a spa pedicure because of an ingrown toenail - it made hi difference because all it changed was adding jelly. Then when she pushed my cuticles down it was harsh and painful for all of my toes. I almost cried out in pain! Never again will I be there. Seated immediately for a pedicure but waited for a half hour (with ice cold water in the foot tub). The lady was extremely rough...my pedicure did not feel good at all! I jumped several times when was using the nail clippers due to the fact she was rushing and kept getting my skin. She cut my toe nails down so short and filed them completely uneven. I felt like she was forcing me to "upgrade" to the spa pedicure when really all I wanted to do was have my toes painted. She just kept saying "no you do this one it's much better." Finally after several mixtures of back and forth I said FINE JUST DO IT! I was so frustrated at that point. I just wanted a relaxing day and it was quite the opposite. Went yesterday for a pedicure with my 2 daughters. Yes we were seated immediately to hold you hostage. We sat in the water for an hour before someone finally came over to start the pedicures. The girl rubbed a gel on my legs and left me to start the girls so she was doing 3 pedicures at 1 time! So much for a great relaxing experience! Finally another came over to start my pedicure after 1 1/2 hrs of waiting I wanted the gel spa treatment never got it The other girl completed painting my daughters nails but they had to wait for their design while she sat there and cleaned out her purse We were skipped to do eyebrow waxing in someone who walked in an hour after us ! The whole process took 2 1-2 hrs! Way too long and awful service and they charged me 74 bucks! A kids pedicure is suppose to be 15 dollars .. So my awful pedicure was 44 bucks ?! wanted a nail salon close by the price was right however the owner who is a young girl is beyond rude. I'm very big on treating a customer respectfully. The gel polish I picked wasn't going on correctly . They were using a hand piece to remove it and it was causing my nail bed to burn. She called me rude for complaining about it. I thought I was in a twighlight zone episode . She doesn't greet you or even attempt to engage you. I now know why it's not very busy . Something's just aren't worth saving a couple dollars . I will be returning to Lena Rose on rt 130 in Pennsauken . You usually have to wait it's so busy and it cost a few more dollars. The technicians are great and friendly. Stay clear of Tulips . I had a terrible experience here! First of all the tech scrubbed my legs with a beaded lotion and it scratched my legs. Secondly she washed my legs and feet with freezing cold water and then slapped a searing hot wash cloth over my legs and feet. Thirdly she picked at my cuticles so terribly I have little cuts on my toes. During the majority of my pedicure the tech constantly kept looking at the door to see what additional customers had arrived. In the midst Of her looking at the door she neglected to look at my feet as she buffed and filed them. I asked for a normal pedicure and the tech had informed me it was $25 despite the fact that their sign said $22. When I asked the tech why she had charged me an additional $3 she informed me it was due to the fact I received polish on my toes. After I left the establishment I called them back and inquired as to how much a pedicure with polish was and they informed me $22! As someone who has worked in a service industry I never tip below 20% but my experience here was horrific. At no point was I rude despite the fact that their employees were. Horrible services! I went in last week they told me they'd take me within 10minutes well 10min turned into 30minutes. By the end I had 3 different people work on my nails. I asked for a simple manicure with gel finish...when the woman came to add lotion to my hands she smeared the nail polish and had to redo my hand. When they finished drying my nails were smeared, chipped and mission parts of the nail were not painted. By then I had missed my hair appointment and simply didn't want to wait any longer than I had already wasted. I was told to come back. Fine a week later I was told to come at a certain time again made me wait 27minutes and when I got up to leave I was told "sorry" and to come back. I said no thank you my nails should've been done right in the first place for me to not come back and don't tell me a time to only keep me waiting makes zero sense to me! I will never go back again! And they made me sister in law wait also when they informed us both of us would be taken care of at the same time. I do not know where to start...i had been there the last time september 2015 and after going there a few weeks ago remember why I never went back. Two women were there working and this is mean but i refer to them as dumb and dumber. Sweet as pie but everything went wrong and I cannot believe they actually are nail technicians. I asked for a pedi/ fill in with gel. First they started my pedi that went pretty well. I gave myself 1 and 1/2 hours to be there bc I needed to pick up my daughter by a certain time. Due to my time frame they said we will begin your mani and finish your toes there. When the mani began that's when the hell began....they started taking off my polish and inspecting my nails. They decided my nails did not look good so told me they wanted to do the fill in with gel.....ok I said but I needed to leave in about 45 min. Ok Ok they said. Then the lady proceeded to take off the existing acrylic and it hurt so bad...I thought she was going to take my nail off. Then 3 customers came in..I was the only one at the time. They seem to get flustered. The lady harshly filed my nails and clipped around my nails causing me to bleed. The other lady was on the ground finishing my toes and filing them again bc the other one didnt do a good job. Meanwhile the new customers accidentally spilled nail polish casing the one who was on my toes to attend to that. The lady doing my nails continued to violently file and buff my nails. Ugh....finally two ladies are soaking their feet in the tubs forever and the girl next to me gets fake nails put on and then she is left with them on not cut for forever! The phone rings and the lady stops to get it and cant hear the person and is saying hello for five minutes. When the fill in is put on its not filed down that much and is globby and thick. When the polish is put on it looks globby and thick...at this point it is past the time I needed to leave and thankfully my daughter gets a ride with her friends mom....I m so pissed and want to get the f out I dont complain like an idiot. I really shouldve. When its time to pay the bill my card and another dont go thru...I'm like it should...finally she realizes it is due to the phone never being hung up.
