I ordered their $24 Halibut & chips. What I got was 4 little fish "nuggets" and about 40 french fries on a SALAD PLATE. What an absolute insult to a paying customer. I call them nuggets because they were maybe half a SMALL filet at best. It was a complete insult. And the saddest amount of fries. Are you kidding me? The cheapest thing you can be serving and you can't cover the bottom of a salad plate with fries. You honestly put sliced cabbage on the plate for what? A distraction from the small amount of food you provided? I keep giving you guys chances because you use to be wonderful. Now, you are not. Not remotely. You have an amazing view, I hope it goes to a new restaurant that doesn't treat it's customers like you do. Absolutely disappointed. I do not recommend in the least. read more

Mind you our group came here around 2 pm and it was packed on Mother's Day Sunday. Reading the reviews did not look optimistic but fairly accurate. Entrance is on the second floor so you'll have to take the stairs there. Once you're there you'll be around people by the door waiting. Older folks squeezing their way to use the elevator. After 10 minutes of cold dead stares from workers, we had to approach someone on at least getting on a waiting list. It took another 25 minutes until we were finally seated. We got our menus and drinks within 10 minutes. Orders put in shortly after that. Food didn't take all that long to arrive. Well some of it. I ordered the salmon dish with a baked potato. Everyone else ordered fish and chips and a plate of nachos and clam chowder. The nachos were oddly put together. Dip in the middle and about a pound of cheese on it. Didn't get the clam chowder. Our waitress disappeared and never came back. One of the cocktails was just grenadine and sprite with no booze. We located the waitress to inquire about the chowder and sent back the drink for a coffee instead. The Pepsi was low on syrup requested root beer instead. Eventually got it. Never got any of our drinks refilled. The food was very average and for the price is not worth it at all. If you're charging 15-25 dollars a plate it has to be elevated with quality. I wouldn't recommend eating here. This place desperately needs a floor manager. Instead it's a bunch of college age kids with their heads cut off. There was at least 4 empty tables and oh I dunno could have seated people easily. $200 and we all felt it wasn't worth it. read more

After eight years, living in an extreme hellish northeast Wisconsin, we just returned the other dates of Washington state, and while searching for our next home, we decided to stop at this fine waterfront restaurant during historic king tide low tide. It's been years since I had fresh seafood so we ordered calamari and pan fried oysters and they tasted absolutely awesome! The service was superb, friendly servers, quick service, the food quality was excellent, the prices were cheaper than they were eight years ago, but that's the case everywhere, thanks to the crooked moron in the White House, no fault of these establishments. We look forward to going back and trying some other seafood dishes in the not too distant future. read more

I read reviews about slow service but holy moly. Two people. Ordered as soon as we sat down. Two other tables that sat down after us were served before us. It was probably close to a 50 minute wait for our food, and it wasn't a particularly busy night. All the waitstaff are college kids, which is fine, but things seemed to move at a snails pace, and our server would disappear for 10-15 minutes at a time. My wife had the Seafood Sauté, which was good. I had the Mac and cheese with crab and artichoke, which was good until I bit down on moldy bread. Overall, it just feels like whoever owns this establishment could inspire more care into staff that's attentive and kitchen staff that cares. read more

First off, the address listed on Yelp, Google, and on their own website is WRONG. The correct address is: 2100 W Bay Dr NW, Olympia, WA 98502 The staff were nice and friendly and the place is very cute. It's a very nice place. However, the food was garbage. My wife ordered a crab melt and it lacked crab. It was just a big glob of cheese. She did not finish it. I started with a cup of Clam Chowder. The clam chowder was super thick and all dried out. It's was sitting around for a while. For the main course I ordered the Prime Rib with a Shrimp Skewer add on. The Shrimp Skewer was Excellent. However, the Prime Rib tasted "old". Not to mention it tasted like it was reheated in a microwave or something. It was totally gross. I ended up leaving it. If you want old reheated food in a nice ambient place then come to Tugboat Annie's. Otherwise save both your money and stomachs and pass this place up. read more

Honestly the only thing I found appealing about this restaurant was the location on the marina. Given the location, good luck getting a window seat; we arrived at 5:15pm to beat the rush and every seat was taken. We settled in a booth slightly near a window. This isn't the restaurants fault by any means, but it was a bummer still. The building is handicap accessible however there is a bit of a lip between the parking lot and getting onto the sidewalk. My aunt has balance issues and uses a walker and it could be a little challenging if she didn't have someone there for extra support. There is an elevator up to the restaurant. When we were seated there wasn't much room to store her folded walker without it being somewhat in the way; the staff seemed a bit annoyed by that. It was not blocking walking but stuck out slightly. Our server was also the bartender; her service was bare minimum and not even remotely friendly. Food was fine but nothing to go out of the way for. Well, this is a good location.....we shared green salad and clam chowder. The chowder was good, the salad no. Big pieces of lettuce and not much else (don't waste your money). Then we shared the halibut fish and chips. The fish and batter 10/10. We subbed for onion rings and they were the same batter as the fish but cold. The server never checked back so we could not correct this. If hot and fresh, the onion rings would have been great. Service was a 5/10. We visited on a Saturday 2-3 PM. My family had a nice meal here. It is a fun place with lots to see hanging on the walls and we were seated by the window that overlooked the boats on the water. Service was excellent even though they were quite busy. They had a wide variety on the menu and I had the clam chowder and the crab cakes which came with fries. I came to visit my son and daughter in law last week. This time I wanted to try Tugboat Annie's and I was not disappointed at all! In fact, I was overwhelmed with a fun, cozy atmosphere! I started with a huckleberry lemonade with vodka--excellent! I ordered the crab melt on sourdough for lunch. The sandwich was out of this world. I have been craving it again every day, in fact almost wanted to go back and have that again or try anything else they had on the menu! The service was wonderful, friendly and attentive. He just kinda slammed the plates and our drinks came after we almost done eating. He asked which one is which and I answered and there he is, just slammed it again on our table without giving us the right drink when I literally said the Mojito was mine but he gave it to my friend. The family and I headed over to Tugboat Annie's for an early dinner, and I'd have to give it a solid 3 stars ... just kinda Meh overall. We were honestly hoping for more so it came out a bit disappointing for us. My wife and I both had the Fish & Chips (cod for her, halibut for me). We were impressed with the fact they had halibut, as you usually just have cod for the option. My wife said the cod was okay but nothing very special. I thought the halibut was pretty good. The batter was the right crispness and not too thick. The fries were good too. The kids had a burger and mini corn dogs. The little burger was fine ... pretty thin patty, even for a kids' meal. The corn dogs were tasty though ... kinda like good fair food. Dessert was a mix: I had the brownie sundae and it was delicious! Chewy, super chocolatey, and covered with ice cream. My wife had the cheesecake, and did not like it. It didn't look very good either - not like a real piece of cheesecake. The biggest heartbreak came with one of the boys ... he wanted chocolate cake the whole time and they were sold out! Not sure how you can sell out of chocolate cake at 4:30pm on a Saturday?? I also had a root beer float and was disappointed with the poor quality of suds. Ice cream was good. Root beer was either flat or just didn't have the anticipated zing of root beer. All in all, it wasn't a poor meal or experience. Just not what we were expecting and certainly not worth the price. "Tugs" is an Olympia institution. It's been on the West Side for years. It's a "pubish " kind of place. Great view if you can get a window seat. Otherwise, kind of meh. I came here in search of some clam chowder and they did not disappoint. It was very good with plenty of clams. The chowder was thick enough so easy to scoop it all with the spoon. I also ordered the rock crab melt on sourdough. This was served as an open-face with a mixture of crab, onions and cheeses atop. It was very good and filing. It could have been any number of reasons, and I understand stuff happens with staffing. If it's a busy day, I might choose another place if I had a schedule keep. My wife and I made our first and last visit to Tugboat Annie's for Dinner. We were greeted by a busboy who told us to sit where we wanted. We sat outside on the terrace where other patrons were also seated. Other couples came in after us and were seated by wait staff. My wife and I noticed that after numerous attempts to get the attention from wait staff and that patrons who were seated 15 to 20 minutes after we had been seated were given menus, silverware, drink orders and food orders. After 25 minutes without even a look in our direction from the wait staff. My wife and I left the terrace, entered the restaurant and requested to speak with the manager. Ten minutes later the manager appeared sweaty and disheveled. I explained the situation and my concerns. No apology or reason was given, we were simply asked to return to our table. The staff were very friendly as well and even struck up a conversation about said chicken sandwich! I arrived with a group of 18 at almost 1pm on a Thursday. Service was extremely slow. I watched diners around us come in well after us and get served before our orders were even taken. After our orders were taken we had a very very long wait before our food arrived. I've eaten here 3 times and service was slow each time but this was far worse. A simple apology for the delay would have been nice and the manager could have sent over a couple of appetizers. I'm assuming they were short staffed which is all the more reason for the apology and a couple of comped appetizers. I don't recommend this restaurant. Locals seem to like this place, they can have it. Also the restaurant could use a really good scrubbing. read more
