They told her that they have a relationship with the tire wholesaler so the price they quoted was the "best in town." But it turns out, after a bit of calling around for other quotes, the Auto Check price was about $320 higher than other shops for the identical tires. In other words, they were prepared to gouge her for tires they clearly knew were way overpriced. To me, that kind of business practice stinks.

just want to give a shout out to the team here at Arrowsmith bikes shop Nanaimo, I bought and…read moremountain ebike off them last year on my 65th born day as i wanted to start rideing again in the forest, not knowing anything about them walked into the shop and was greeted with a big smile and was given the utmost respect right from the start, They took the time to walk me threw all sorts of different pay grades of bike and gave me the understanding of the differences, they never once tried to push me toward a more expensive option, I went with the treck rail, and all i can say is (o my God) what fun. They gave me a full year with free tune ups and any time I came in they have gone out of there way to help me with all things, since my year ran out in march of this year I have had to bring my bike in a few times with some small problems, and they have fixed it right there on the spot, they let me watch so I can learn how to do, which is awesome, today I brought my bike in as I was missing a small screw in my gear changer, and they took my bike to the back and 10 min later back out with screw in and also tightened up and tweaked some small things that I didn't even see, I asked what do I ow you for that, and all i got was a big smile and have a good ride don't worry about it. When a small issue (low battery) came up a week after buying a car, Tim's handled it immediately and to our complete satisfaction. I would definitely recommend Tim's to anyone looking for a used car. This morning my car had 3 flat tires, so not particularly happy today after being sent off yesterday thinking all was well. I called and spoke to Jeff and first he asked me if I could bring the car down. I said yes after I pumped up the tires. Then he said they couldn't do it today or tomorrow as they were fully booked. I understand this is a busy time, but then to be further told by him to go elsewhere when I trusted them to make sure they were leak free and good to drive on is extremely annoying. Why is it so hard to find a good tire shop in Nanaimo? Just heard from the new shop (not the one I am complaining about) that none of the tires were on the bead (I think that's the correct terminology) so had to be removed from the rims, the rims cleaned, and had to be reseated. I was prepared to pay for that yesterday but not today. I had told Jeff I had just purchased the rims and tires on Marketplace. He looked at the tires on my car and the ones on the "new to me" rims and advised me to keep the tires that came with the rims, which according to the shop I went to to fix the bad bead issue were from 2012. I can only assume this was to spare the time to remount them on the new to me rims. Did he not know that yesterday? And how, in good conscience, could you send me off with those tires which the new shop showed me were cracked and old? At least now I will have new tires too. You lost a sale on that too, Kal Tire. Thanks for doing a horrible job and possibly putting my life at risk. If I'd gone on the highway like this, I shudder to think what might have happened.
