    Beautiful vines!
    Liz C.

I really enjoyed this winery. They have beautiful decor and repurposed items. I really enjoyed walking around and looking at it all. They have one of the oldest vines I've ever seen. The guides were very friendly and informative. The wines were pretty good. Of course, each person has their preference. We did see the two dogs who are very friendly. We checked out their little shop, I was one of those that "tagged" my name on it. The cost of the wines are reasonable. This is definitely a place I would love to have as my backyard. I can only imagine having a picnic out there.

Welcome to Tudal! How could you pass up this place?

This is the kind of winery experience I absolutely LOVE! As I say 'you don't drink marketing' and here you drink in the atmosphere and the wines! Snuggled amongst some of the great 'old gentleman' vines I saw in the entire Valley, the proprietor often is on site to help you and chew the fat. He knows his wines and vines and is friendly and loves to tell you the story of Tudal! The tasting wines were terrific and the staff knowledgeable and friendly. The grounds are surrounded by vines and offer a unique atmosphere. I loved this visit and I equally loved the wines. The outdoor area is only outdone by the backroom, which offers some seating right amongst the barrels! My HINT here: Don't miss Pablo's Pick Cuvee! A delightful blend you will lust after immediately! and if they still have it in stock, buy a copy of Wine Dogs and have it 'autographed' by the resident, and very friendly, wine dog! Loads of fun plus wonderful wines!

Had such a wonderful tasting with Doug last month that I joined their wine club - my first! Returned yesterday to pick up my wine club allotment and enjoyed a picnic at one of their many outdoor tables (after my tasting, of course). The grounds are lovely and whimsical. Looking forward to attending a club event soon. Absolutely adore this place. It deserves the five stars.

Let me first start by saying that the online pictures for this place do not do it justice. This is an absolutely gorgeous boutique winery. The grounds are impeccable. Very country, and humble, while simultaneously gorgeously designed. Country shabby chic is the best way to describe this spot. Just be sure to call ahead and book an appt since they do not take walk-ins. Gardens (with actual fruits and veggies for the picking), tables, trellises, bocce, and oversized Jenga are some of the options while spending the day here. I was really impressed by their wines. Not only are they highly reasonable prices but they are also very delicious. Well-balanced sugars, great flavors that touch the tongue, and overall quality. We enjoyed the two Sauvignon Blancs (starting at $15/bottle) and Rose ($15/bottle) during our visit. We also had the pleasure of tasting some of their more special red wines. All of them were fantastic. If you are looking for something off the beaten track, less touristy, and a great spot to spend your day, look no further than Tudal Winery.

I recently went to Tudal on a Saturday afternoon as part of my bachelorette weekend with 10 girlfriends. I had been to Tudal about 6 years ago with my fiancé on a Platypus wine tour and loved it, so suggested we make it a stop on our list for lunch. It was the absolute PERFECT experience from the moment we arrived. We had picked up sandwiches at Dean and Deluca and just planned to sit for a bit at Tudal's picnic tables for a quick bite, then do our tasting and tour, but when we arrived Felicia had the most beautiful set up for us. The picnic tables were covered with nice table cloths, there were centerpieces on the tables, all the wine glasses were set up with a taste of rose for us to enjoy as we ate our lunch. Throughout lunch Felicia chatted with us about the winery & their wines, and poured us tastings of their other wine, which were all delicious. Once we were finished with lunch, John took us on a tour of their winery, and we even got to climb the catwalk between the fermenting tanks to get a birds eye view of the winery... pretty fun! The winery has an awesome rustic feel complete with a bocce ball court, garden & various other areas for tastings. Felicia and John made us feel at home, and relaxed. It was the perfect stop on our wine tour and we will without a doubt be back. Thank you John & Felicia, we're all still talking about what a perfect afternoon we had!

Sign is down. Per the north bay business journal (Jul 10, 2024) quote: "The deal, completed June 21, includes 8 acres of planted vines, the winery, appointment-only tasting room, a garden and a small home, but founder Chris Madrigal retains the namesake brand, according to Hundred Acre. BIRTHDAY SECOND WINERY VISIT…read more Two Saturdays ago my sister, her husband, and my relatives took me to two wine tastings for my 50th birthday. Frank Family Vineyards was the second and last winery visit. My sister and her husband have visited this winery before and highly recommended. At this wine tasting there were four glasses. The wine tasting menu was structured with four different wines - one white wine and three red wines. The first wine was the Chardonnay. It was a nice wine to start with in the late afternoon. The next wine was the Pinot Noir. It was more robust wine. The third glass was Zinfandel, which had a smoother taste that the Pinot Noir. The last wine was the Cabernet Sauvignon, which is the wine Frank Family Vineyards is known for. Of all the four wines the Cabernet Sauvignon was my favorite as it had the robust texture along with the smooth taste. Since it was my birthday I was going to buy the Cabernet Sauvignon for $120. Then my brother-in-law convinced the host John if I can taste a glass of the Winston Hill, which was $175 a bottle. I tasted the Winston Hill. It blew away the Cabernet Sauvignon. I didn't buy the Winston Hill, but it prevented me from buying the Cabernet Sauvignon by saving $120. Overall I had an enjoyable while relaxing time for the second wine tasting menu on my birthday.

Olivia handled our group so effortlessly. She kept us engaged, made us laugh, and created such a warm, fun, and welcoming atmosphere from beginning to end. What stood out most was how genuine her enthusiasm was. Her personality and passion added so much to the experience and made our time at Frank Family feel incredibly special. Whether you love sparkling wine, red wine, or wine in general, this is an experience you shouldn't miss. The historic caves were unlike anything we've ever seen, and walking through them while learning about their history made the visit even more special. Our guide, Francesca, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate. She made the tour engaging and memorable, and we're so glad we had the opportunity to experience it with her. We enjoyed it so much that throughout the rest of our trip in Napa, we made a point of telling other visitors to make time for Schramsberg.
