Called and had at least 7 tree services look at the project. Only 4 were willing to tackle it. One service wanted to have a crane move the cut trees over the house and remove and cut neighbors trees for access! Bids from 2 services were incomplete to what was requested. To complete requested services additional charges added another several hundred $. Steve came out with a complete bid. It was not a cheap project. However, the bid was within the range and in some cases slightly below other bids or verbal estimates. Michelle sent insurance policies for workers and their company. Neighbor commented on neighborhood web site the professional preliminary in person visit by Steve to review work needed to clear their right of way to access trees. Climbers did the work in 2 1/2 days. Included stump grinding of the two trees. Steve made recommendations for appropriate Tucson tree plantings.

Then they started to slack a little and wouldn't show up for 2-3 weeks, they would make up excuses for why they didn't show up. They would never invoice. They replaced our irrigation but the new lines also seemed to be sprouting leaks like years' old lines. We were told that whatever warranty only applies to to a "certain amount of fixes" and that we would be responsible. They would also show up unannounced on random days and expect us to be home. I would not recommend this company at all. Their landscaping work was half decent but they would cut our trees down without really thinking about what they would look like and it sometimes felt like they didn't know what they were doing.

I was left in a difficult situation when they canceled my project the morning it was scheduled to begin. I was trying to get this project completed before the start of monsoon. Full details below for those interested. I hired Hood Arborist to remove a large dead mesquite tree, which was planned as a two-day project. On the first morning at 7:10 AM, I received an email stating: "We will be arriving a little later than anticipated due to some scheduling conflict with one of our contractors. Pedro will be arriving at 11 AM to begin working." When no one had arrived by 11:30 AM, I texted the provided contact number for an update. I received no response. Then, at 11:46 AM, I got another email saying: "Unfortunately, the scheduling conflict with our contractor on this project turns out to be them pulling out of the project completely. At this time, we are unable to provide the removal service. We are so sorry for the huge inconvenience this causes. Our company is just not equipped to handle higher-risk removals in house. Our sincerest apologies for wasting your time." No phone call. No text. Just an impersonal email canceling the entire job. When I called for clarification, I was told that Hood Arborist doesn't own the necessary equipment for large tree removals and relies on subcontractors. In my case, their only subcontractor pulled out at the last minute--and they had no backup plan. At no point during the contracting process was I told that subcontractors would be used or that the company was dependent on them to complete the job. This experience shows a lack of transparency, reliability, and basic customer service. Proceed with caution.

I hit them up on Instagram, they were super flexible with the timing to come out and give me an estimate. Pedro is super knowledgeable about tree health and does a great job describing exactly what work needs to be done and why. I really appreciated his input on how to plan for the future health of the tree and what I can do to help it thrive. My estimate was super reasonable, and they knocked out the work quickly, and hauled off all the debris. They even went the extra mile by removing a whole stump when I'd only asked to kill the roots!
