We purchased our Rolling Screens for our Parker AZ River House in 2017. They were installed by a Distributor that no longer sells Tucson Rolling Screens. We reached out to Tucson and they quoted the service charges and coordinated with two other customers in Parker to share the trip fee (it's a 3-hour drive each way from Tempe). Mike B and Team showed up and took the screens and had them repaired and delivered them back and installed today them today. They are perfect. The installation was perfect. We had Tucson Rolling Shutters install 3 rolling screens on the southwest side of our new home. We chose to use the rolling screens in lieu of inside window coverings so we can enjoy the view. Everything about this company is 5-Star, the showroom is great and helped us understand the product and make decisions on what we needed. Appointments for in-home consultation, measurement and installation were all on time, professional and efficient. I have purchased from them two separate times with this last one installed over the summer of this year. The screen stopped working in the down position, locking us out of our backyard. Obviously, we called immediately and emailed to get on the service list. It took days for anyone to respond and they tried to tell me that the earliest availability is 4 weeks away! I said, this is not acceptable, we do not have access to our backyard. We just got these installed a few months ago and we cannot even let our dogs into the backyard. My reply was minutes after their email communication on 12/5, they replied back to me on 12/21 saying sorry for the delay that is the best they can do. We obviously found another solution, but this service is not acceptable. I was a repeat customer that spent almost $20k with them. Do NOT buy from them, go to someone who values your business and will communicate. There are plenty of options out there. Upon reading my review, the President of the company called. I appreciate him reaching out and that he cares about his company. Hopefully he fixes some of these issues because I felt unheard, not cared for, or valued by multiple team members. read more

I bought a house that already had outside shades installed by Tucson Rolling Shutters. After several years I wanted to have maintenance done on the shades so I sent an email using their web site. After three attempts I never received a response. Gave up on that and made a phone call which put me into voice mail. Left a message requesting they contact me to schedule maintenance ......never received a response. I can only rate their customer support which for me has been non-existent. You might want to consider other companies. UPDATE: After posting this review I received a call from Chris at the company who explained they were not aware that the web site email was not working and were working to repair it. I was told that voice messages are returned within 24 hours however I called on Monday and didn't receive a return call until Wednesday the same day Chris called me. I have them scheduled to come out and do maintenance in two weeks. In the interim I have increased my rating to 3 stars for now and will revisit my review after they have serviced my shades. I appreciate Chris contacting me and "get" that things can go wrong. I'm hoping to give them 5 stars in two weeks. read more

Had Tucson Rolling Shuters install a shutter on a huge facing westbound window about 3 years ago. was impressed by the service and instalation. Really saved on energy costs. But really wanted the rest os the house totally done. Saved and just had my house in Oro Valley totally done last week. It was estimasted to be a two day project but the guys who did it (in 110 degree heat) one day. Totally happy. The next day after it was done I noticed a dramatic difference in how the house cooled. Not to rant but after looking at different options, this is the best fot energy effiency, securty and sound proffing. I have a home recording studio and this blocks out the annoying neighbors barking dog. Cant say enough but good about this company. read more

This past summer Tucson Rolling Shutters and screens put a sun screen in my home for me. I expressed over and over during the three months before it was installed that I wanted a screen that could come down from the top of the window. After it was installed, I was told that it could only go up. I called immediately and was told by Joy, "Oh, we could take it down, but we will have to charge you for materials, labor, etc." I wasted a thousand dollars with this company and definitely do NOT recommend them. read more

To be clear, I am not a customer of Tucson Rolling Shutters. And based on my experience this week, never will be. Why? A neighbor at Riverwalk Tucson had something delivered. After 2 service techs had a few rides up and down on the scissor lift (1st photo), apparently they didn't have the correct product, tools or whatever. So they left the scissor lift illegally parked on Blue Diamond Drive all afternoon and night - illegal because our streets double as fire lanes, also there were no caution cones. (For how to temporarily park a service vehicle, see the photo of the Cummings Plumbing truck.) My bad fortune was to back into the scissor lift when exiting my garage. Thinking Tucson Rolling Shutters has insurance to cover this type of accident, on my first call I reached Vanessa; she tried transferring me to Human Resources, then advised someone would call me back. After 24 hours, I called again. This time Angela said Tucson Rolling Shutters was not responsible because the lift was rented from Ross Equipment and promised pass along my issue to that company. Angela did call back to say Ross was checking to see if my car damaged the lift. Yeah, right. It is highly likely the plastic bumper of a Nissan Rogue would make even a mark on a 1-ton scissor lift. All I was looking for was for someone at Tucson Rolling Shutters to take responsibility for leaving a large piece of rental equipment unattended for 24 hours in the street at Riverwalk. Instead, I got the runaround. That's enough for me to know a bad company when I experience one. The day day they tried to install it the tech discover flaws in the shade. 4 times they came and failed to fix it and waited two weeks before the next appointment . Today they tried again. Tucson Rolling Shutters & Screens did an installation on a bathroom window at my home about 1 year ago. This review has two parts: (a) my experience with the product and installation, and (b) a comparison of the rolling shutter with Hunter Douglas (HD) honeycomb shades since some readers may compare the pros and cons of rolling shutters vs. shades. At the time that I placed my order at TRSS, I already had Hunter Douglas duette honeycomb shades on all my windows and vertiglides on my sliding doors with all bells and whistles including remote open/close and automation apps, as well as, wood shutter and was (and have been) very satisfied. I also have a fixed bathroom window that is inside the shower area. Hunter Douglas has a fake wood shutter that is designed for such applications, but it would require drilling holes on tiles and I didn't want to do this. So, I researched other options and came across TRSS. The product's looks and functionality are outstanding. The external wall is beige color with two brown pop outs above and below the window and TRSS was able to match the color of the popouts perfectly. It was an easy sell to my HOA. The attention to detail is amazing, they even used special caulking that matches the color of the popouts so the shutter literally looks like it is part of the wall. The finish is excellent (sprayed paint) and I was even able to purchase a spray bottle to touch up any scratches in the future, as well as caulking with the exact color (which I don't really need but I am too detail focused). The installation is simple although it does require drilling holes on the wall to pass a wire through and connect to an existing outlet. They patch the holes properly with insulation and stucco and then paint over provided that you supply paint to them. The shutter is operated with an RF remote control and requires less than 1 amp, so it doesn't draw much current (in case you have other appliances plugged on the same circuit). My shutter is pretty small covering bathroom window, not sure what the electrical load would be for larger shutters. Their installers are amazing. I dealt directly with the field manager, Bobby, who was super helpful! He answered all my questions and addressed the concerns that I had with the drilling of holes. Their installation crews consist of two technicians, one is the lead technician, the other is usually a trainee. The product is really a custom product with custom made components. The way it is custom made to fit the window makes the installation very quick and they are able to make small adjustments if necessary. Bottom line: super satisfied with the product and the overall experience. I definitely recommend the product! Now, the comparison with shades. The big pros for exterior shutters are: energy efficiency (especially during super hot summers in southern AZ) and security. The rollover shutter is made of aluminum, so breaking through the glass window requires first cutting the shutter. Also, the sun will first heat the aluminum then the glass as opposed to directly heating the glass. HD shades are designed to absorb heat and they do a good job, but it is not nearly the same. In terms of looks, it is a matter of taste. I love my shades and I also love my rollover shutter. If I would have rolling shutters on my other windows and sliding doors, I would probably put drapes (which most people do anyway). This is not an issue of course on my bathroom window. In terms of price (I had TRSS give me a quote for all my other windows and sliding doors), it would cost about 15% less to do the rolling shutters than HD shades. That said, the shades that I compare to the rolling shutters are on the expensive end. The rolling shutters do make some noise as they open and close while the shades do not, but for me this would not be an issue at all. The biggest issue IMO with the rolling shutters on large windows or sliding doors is the drilling of holes on the wall. Drilling a couple holes for a small window should not be an issue. Drilling many more holes all around the house might be a bit more concerning to me. I don't get it why builders haven't caught up to the idea of rolling shutters as is the case in Europe for instance. They pre-wire home for all kinds of things but not for rolling shutters ... One idea and I don't know if that is even possible is to use batteries for power. My window shades are powered by batteries for remote operation and they last for about a year. Not sure if this is possible but it might be an idea. Overall rolling shutters is a superior product and the company and its customer service are amazing, local company in Tucson, Z operated by people who care about making customers happy! read more

Find another company or supplier! My sister contracted to have a sliding glass door replaced. That firm subcontracted with Rolling Shutters of Tucson to remove an existing shutter and reinstall after the slider was replaced. The shutter has been up snd functional for years. Rolling Shutters arrived as scheduled on the 7th of January, 2022 to remove the shutter. Their employees placed all components in one pile inside the house. It was never moved afterwards! Also, absolutely no mention of broken or missing parts. They were scheduled to return on the 14th of January to reinstall the shutter. They cancelled without a phone call! Turns out, they did not even have the correct phone number! After several attempts to call them, they rescheduled to return on the 18th. On that day, a different crew leader and two of the same helpers arrived about two hours after the appointment time slot. After setting up ladders, the crew leader advised an end cap was missing. Later changed this to the existing one was broken. He said the end cap was the complete support for the unit and he could not reinstall the shutter. But, he said he would call his office to see how long it would rake to get a new one and someone would call to let us know. After hearing nothing, a call was made to the store. They knew nothing until he returned and reported in. The next day, still no communication from Rolling Shutters! Today, the 19th, in the afternoon, after several attempts to get info, Rolling Shutters said the earliest the could get a crew out would be the 28th. No mention whether the end cap was on hand or available. There was NEVER a word about a broken/missing part during the removal, or as a follow up afterwards. There was a whole week scheduled between trips a replacement could have been ordered, had any of their mechanics said anything. Also, it is mighty strange this unit has been fine for many years without any problems until it was time to reinstall it! read more

If you have a window that is located on the corner of your home, I strongly suggest that you do not use Tucson Rolling Shutters. I have an older model and have had several issues with my rolling screen whenever there are heavy winds; the screen acts like a sail and the bottom bar acts like a projectile breaking your window and damaging your house. This means the majority of the time the screen remains up making it extremely ineffective (house gets hot!) I have had several issues with this particular screen and I have contacted Tucson Rolling Shutters and they indicate that it takes a week and a half just to have someone come out to look at the screen because they are very busy. I guess I am not the only one with this issue! Regardless of the fact that I indicated that the bar struck my window breaking it. Their attitude is nonchalant. It appears this is not the first time they have heard this! Also, just to have someone come to your home costs $95!!!, and this is not the first time. I have an appointment next week and we will see how much more it will cost! I have contacted Screens & More for the other corner side of the house because their screens are fixed on the house, and certainly far less expensive! We have gotten an estimate to replace our damaged glass and it will cost $251.The glass company indicated that damaged glass from rolling screens is a fairly common occurrence here in Tucson, and they receive 2 to 3 calls a year from this issue. Please note I have the newer model which is located in the back of my house, not the corner, and have not had that issue because it is protected under the porch. Kathy M. read more
