WOW! I am blown away by the service and professionalism of the folks at B&D Install & Custom Blinds. I called them to fix some cords on my blinds. They offer service at their store (if you take down your blinds and bring them in) or will make house calls and do the work onsite and then re-install for an extra $70. Let me just say that is $70 well spent! They arrived 30 minutes early, have you ever even heard of early service?! AND took care of the issue in less than 45 minutes. They took down the blinds from the wall, took it out to their mobile shop, and were back inside in less than 30 minutes. They were completely professional and the charges were incredibly reasonable. I had 5 cords that needed to be replaced and a bracket that needed to be reinstalled and I was expecting to spend almost double what I was charged. Compliments go to Ashtin who does repairs for B & D Custom Blinds for helping me out yesterday. I have some lovely woven wood blinds from that business, but recently one would not go down fully. I assumed we had broken it and brought it in for repairs. Unasked, Ashtin came to my car and carried the blind into the store for me. He checked it out and discovered it was not broken, but rather had one thread which had snagged and just needed to be undone to fully work again. Looking back, I believe I caught the blind's pull on my window lock which caused the snag. He showed me how to fix it should I ever do that again, and refused to charge me even though he had spent time checking the problem out, teaching me what happened and how to avoid it in the first place. After looking at reviews and getting quotes from different companies we finally went with B&D. They were the quickest to deliver and install (within 2 weeks which we needed). They are not the cheapest but the workmanship is great. This company set an appointment to provide an in home consultation. 15 minutes after the appointment was set to happen and with no vendor in sight, I called to ask if I had been mistaken about the appointment. I was told, "Oh, he's running late, he'll be there at 10 (an hour after the appt). I would understand if I was told the appt wasn't really a set time but a range of times, but that's not what happened. It's professional and considerate to call your appointments if you're running late to see if they have flexibility in their schedule. That didn't happen. I'm assuming because they are the only Graber vendor with Lowes that they're getting the "we don't care, we don't have to". And that's fine, I know as a potential customer, though, that if you have problems with a vendor before they get your money and order then don't be surprised with anything that happens after they get your money. read more
