I ordered the pork, rice and beans, salmon and flan for dinner for two. The pork and the rice were dry and tasted like it was a couple of days old. Usually I would just let it go, as I understand that things happen, but when we brought it to the attention of the manager, he said it wasn't his problem. Needless to say, we will not be eating from this establishment again. Nor do we recommend that anyone eat from here either. Sub par food can sometimes be forgiven if there is exceptional customer service. This place has neither. read more

My roommate is a young Dominican girl that ate my Tipico leftovers yesterday after I ordered in. I had a fever and was feeling a bit under the weather earlier in the day so I decided to order myself chicken soup and Sancocho soup. For starters, their portions are great for the price and totally worth it. She said, and I quote, "That Sancocho hit home! Tasted just like my grandmother's". Last Night!!! I went to this restaurant to get me some food.... I ordered the goat meat rice and peas a large... Then decided to order a small chicken middle soup with a tres leche cake... Fast forward get back to the house eat my food decide to wait for my soup to cool down so I can eat it bit... I decide to eat in timorrow... I hear up my goat meat and rice and soon as i open the soup guess what... It's spoil and it has a strong spoil smell to it... So, I called today to let them know what happen and the lady puts me on hold to speak to a guy he said... I should of brought it back last night and I had 15 hours to bring back the soup... Do not order from this place. Staff is extremely unprofessional. They messed up our order and had the nerve to disrespect us on the phone and refuse a refund. We order a whole chicken and was sent thighs and legs. When we called they said well we don't have whole chicken until tomorrow so we sent that. Rather than asking us if we were ok with that they took it upon themselves to alter my meal without my consent. Will never order from here again. First of their food is not that good. Only ordered from them when I didn't feel like cooking. I had to doctor it up to eat it. They leave items out and deliver late. I always tried to give them a good review when Grubhub asked.My last order I was sent the wrong item, I paid for the correct item so I called the store and the manager was rude screaming at me and hung up on me. UBEREATS finally made its way to Staten Island so I was ordering from all these places that usually don't deliver to me. My order from Tu Tipico was actually not planned, I had ordered from El Dorado on hylan but they were too lazy to cook my food 10 mins before they closed so they cancelled it. Every other Dominican spot on the island stops delivery at 8pm but Tu Tipico was open. Their menu on UE is a lot smaller than their normal menu, they only have lunch specials available and then regular chicken options and I didn't want chicken or a small portion of food so I called and asked them if they could make me something else and they told me to just order something with the same value of what I wanted and wrote a note, which is what I wanted to do anyway but I was very happy that they were helpful and accommodating. I ordered their filete de pescado a la parilla con salsa de ajo which is a grilled fish fillet with garlic sauce. I asked for white rice and beans and it's only $12. My food came on time. They gave me a small order of white rice and an extra regular order of yellow rice by accident I assume. The fish was very large, in fact I only ate half and gave the rest to my grandmother but I was very full. It was very good, my only complaint is I wish it had more of a char to it and more garlic flavor. The fish itself was tender and they gave me lots of onions and peppers with it. read more

The food was horrible. If I could give negative stars I would. I would of been generous giving 0 stars but unfortunately I couldn't. I had to pick 1 star giving them more credit than they deserve. The chicken soup and Sancocho Soup was beyond atrocious. The flavor of the broth was okay, however it was extremely greasy. The chicken was under cooked, which made it hard for me to even pull it apart and had feathers on it. The beef was tough as well and undercooked. When I tried to pull it apart for about 30-40 seconds and finally obtained success, I seen only red. The carrots was solid as a rock, I couldn't bite into it easy after it been in broth since the time time they cooked it, until it was delivered to me. The pumpkin taste spoiled I just spit it out. The potatoes was the best part which was still nothing to ride home about. It's like I lit a match to my $20.00 making it the worst purchase I ever made at a spanish restaurant. Im a very big fan of Spanish soup but this here was a big DISAPPOINTMENT. I WILL NEVER EAT FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN OR RECOMMEND IT TO ANYWAY. MAYBE RECOMMEND THEM NOT TO EAT HERE. This restaurant knew dang well they closed at 10 pm. I placed an order with Uber eats at 9:05. You would think they had enough sense to know they couldn't make the delivery on time. I waited 30 minutes for them to prepare my food, Uber said a driver picked up my delivery a whole 20 minutes before they closed. I patiently waited an hour and 5 minutes for them to send me a message saying my order was cancelled. I will NEVER place an order with this restaurant ever again. I ordered for the first time yesterday. I ordered the steak with onions. The steak was edible but the onions were not cooked. I ordered because it was hot and i didn't want to have to cook. The onions were large and raw. I had to carmelize them on the stove. The pigeon peas and rice were ok. The delivery time was fast. I will order again. Hopefully I'll have a better outcome. read more
