Yum. Yum yum yum yum YUM YUM YUM…read more Okay, a few more details: Bite My Biscuit (BMB) made the trek to Lewisville to grace us with their presence at Witherspoon Distillery, and I'm glad they did! But boy, did they walk into a situation that really required 2 to 3 food trucks, and they were the only one... The line was long and the wait was longer, but I can't really fault them for that. Witherspoon had a bigger than expected crowd that evening, with some live music and a couple of events (including a Match.com event - that made for some fun people watching). Apparently BMB was told earlier that day that a large crowd could materialize, so they didn't really have time to buy extra food or prep much. But they kept smiling and were nice about it, and everyone went with the flow and it was fine. By the time we finally got our food (made to order for sure - took a while), we were starving. I got the burger (the brisket on a biscuit had run out) and my wife got the special (which I'm blanking on). Both were very tasty. The burger was maybe just a *tad* overdone and the patty wasn't big, but serving it on a biscuit-style bun with some yummy sauce made for a good, hefty sammich. With a side of fries that we shared - which were excellent - it was plenty of food. Value was pretty good, too, particularly for a food truck. I don't think I'd go as far as calling it gourmet like some people have, but it was good and were satisfied. I'd totally order food from the BMB truck again. Oh, and it wasn't exactly a truck - it's actually a really nice trailer. :) (See the pic someone posted.)

5/5 - A Perfect Spot for Great Food & Focused Work…read more Vie à Paris in Hurst is an absolute gem. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by a tranquil, French-inspired atmosphere filled with lush green plants and soft, calming décor. Their display cases are a feast for the eyes--packed with beautiful specialty cakes, and an irresistible variety of baked goods. I spent about two hours here working on business plans with a friend, and it was the ideal environment: peaceful, comfortable, and inspiring. We enjoyed a delicious lunch of two of their delicious sandwiches, that were every bit as satisfying as the ambiance. But the star of the show? The croissants. Their large croissants are genuinely the best I have ever eaten--flaky, buttery perfection. I'm planning to pick up a dozen for Thanksgiving today because they're just that good. Highly recommend this bakery for anyone looking for amazing pastries, a relaxing place to work or chat, and a little taste of Paris right here in Texas.

Between us we ordered the Black Forest cake (which is one of my all time favorites) it was so yummy. We took home a cream horn for later, very good and we decided to try the Asian pandan cake which is green. Never had it before, it was interesting flavors a little floral and light not my favorite but still good. They were very nice and helpful and everything was a good price. They also had sandwiches and soups available to order with a little cafe seating area. I would return if in the area.

I'm not sure why it took me so long to visit this place--though I'll admit the name initially gave…read moreme pause. In this case, however, "Roots" turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Roots Café is a small, inviting spot in North Richland Hills that serves genuinely fresh food every day. And by fresh, I mean not pulled from a freezer and reheated--actually made fresh. I didn't get the chance to try the French toast that our server, Kate, highly recommended, but she still guided us toward options that matched exactly what my friend and I were looking for. The omelet was well seasoned and well prepared. I ordered pancakes as a substitute for the French toast, and they were excellent--impressive given that I normally don't enjoy pancakes due to their usual baking-soda taste. These were balanced, flavorful, and something I would order again without hesitation. The Roots Sandwich was also reported to be outstanding, with each bite hitting the mark. Overall, Roots Café exceeded expectations and is absolutely worth a return visit. By the way parking lot is free and has ample spacing. And inside is spacious seating of about 50-75 customers. .

One quick look at the menu to see it wasn't about to cost me an arm and a leg to eat breakfast we made a uturn. Family owned. The guy said he was the owner, the chef, and the bank. I got the 2 egg combo with skirt steak. Pretty affordable at around $13. The skirt steak was tasty, the eggs were fresh, the fruit didnt taste like chemicals, and the potatoes were awesome. It came with toast or pancakes. I went with pancakes. They were decent. My family had the breakfast sandwich, patty melt, and biscuits and gravy. 2 thumbs up on the b&c they were pretty damn good and so was the patty melt. The breakfast sandwich was also good. It was like a breakfast croissant. I would definitely come back. I hope you come try it as well so they'll stay in business!
