Hey, I won't judge them too harshly I suppose because Lufkin is landlocked and not exactly where one would expect to have access to very fresh sushi in Texas, as compared to Houston. If your are a roll lover, and not favoring nigiri or sashimi, this may be your spot. I found the free sample piece of the DiDi roll , which had cream cheese, crawfish tail, and imitation crab to be the best bite out of my meal. I ordered hamachi nigiri, tako nigiri, and 1 spicy tuna hadroll, along with an order of calamari, and the calamari was probably the worst I ever had at any restaurant and it was fried, with what seemed to be an onion ring batter. I still gave it 3 stars because of service, location, and very good hot saki and that frees DiDi sample.

It looked great but had a very fishy taste and an unusual amount of lettuce inside, which felt a bit off. We also ordered a chicken tempura roll, which took about 15 minutes to arrive. It was hot and freshly made, but honestly, a little underwhelming in flavor. On the positive side, our server was quick, polite, and attentive throughout the meal. The food was very affordable and filling, which was a nice surprise. Overall, it was a decent experience, but we'll probably check out some other sushi spots in town before returning.

Salad bar has a variety of choices.
