This is my first time visiting this spot and it's very clean and cute inside with good photo ops as well as seating. Tried the original and chocolate egg tarts and I preferred the original due to sweetness level. It tasted like a cross over between HK egg tart and pasteis de nata. The mango sago drink was so good and refreshing! The mango pieces inside the drink were a lovely addition. The boneless chicken was also delicious! Fried to a perfect crisp, the chicken was tender and juicy! The sauces come on the side so you can dip or pour the sauce over the chicken. They also provided us with plastic gloves to eat our chicken by hand, that was a fun experience. I usually come in the afternoon and off hours, so my review may be different than others who have had bad experiences with wait time. But their food and drinks have been on par. First, I'd suggest calling and ordering ahead for their fried chicken since it takes at least 20 minutes to make. I'd probably do that for anything off their food menu since because they do get backed up with drink orders. Average wait time for me for drinks has been 5-10 minutes, 15-20 minutes for food. This place is a hidden gem for fried chicken! I love their drumsticks which has one of the crispiest skins in town and it's just amazing with their sauces. I like their special spicy sauce and the soy garlic. As for drinks, my favorite is the grapefruit lime mojito with 50% sugar and less ice. It's so pretty and refreshing! Perfect with the fried chicken. I finally tried the mango grapefruit sago drink (50% less sugar and less ice) and loved it! It compares to the viral mango tea from Hey Tea (minus the hour wait). Also, their red bean egg waffles are interesting. Instead of tasting cakey, they tasted like tiny mochi balls. It was also not too sweet which was nice. If you're a slushie boba fan then this is the place for you! They had so many smoothie drink options from guava, dragon fruit to lychee and even a durian mango one. The colors of the drinks were also really vibrant and pretty, and you can tell that they use real fruit since they have fresh fruits just sitting on the shelves on the side. Huge fan of the Mango Puree Milk tea with Mango popping pearls!!! The fresh mango was naturally sweet and slightly tart, a perfect compliment to the creamy milk tea. I'm usually one to take pictures of my drink and slowly sip on it but it was extremely hard to do so this time because the drink was insanely delicious and had to be inhaled. Probably my favorite boba shop in Malden. Located conveniently in Malden center. It's easy to get to by public transit and has street parking in the area. There's a few tables inside so you can sit with friends but wouldn't really recommend it to study/do work. I usually get the fruity teas here as the milk teas didn't really impress me. They use fresh fruits in the fruit teas so it's always refreshing. My go to is the peach green tea but lately I've been loving the mango yogurt slush. I've been searching for a tasty lychee drink, and I found it. I tried their lychee mojito (non-alcoholic). By far the best drink I have had in the area. It had lime slices, mint leaves, a delicious portion of lychees, and seltzer. I can't stop thinking about how refreshing it was. Their drink menu is extensive. I also tried the soy garlic wings and french fries. The wings had just enough flavor and crunch even without the sauce. The portion came with 10, and I ate 5 and was pushing it. It's so filling and delicious! The outer coating is so good! The french fries were not the crispiest. I think there was too much condensation in the packaging. They were still tasty though. It could be that it took me some time to drive over and pick them up. They packed up the whole order in this cute reusable tote bag. I've used it twice already since last weekend. It's fashionable. Popped in here after eating dinner. My friend ordered a fruit tea while I got the mango purée milk tea. Her tea came with a variety of fruits including grapefruit, blueberries, oranges, passion fruit, and more. It was refreshing and perfect for a hot day. I was met with verbal harassment from the store manager, Felix (although I'm not entirely sure of the spelling of his name). I have attached an image from the incident with Felix in it. The incident by Felix marked the worst customer service I've ever endured. This is my fourth visit at Tasaocaa. The tea I ordered didn't taste the same as when I had it the last three times. When I politely asked for a refund, Felix's behavior was beyond appalling. He used inappropriate language, made demeaning facial expressions, and deliberately ignored my presence, focusing on other tasks. Felix also accused me of only coming to use the bathroom and made derogatory remarks about 'people like me.' After witnessing this public confrontation with Felix, several other customers also left the store, clearly disturbed by his demeanor. The 2 other employees also were visibly intimidated by the Felix's behavior. While the establishment itself is very clean, Felix's attitude and actions speak volumes about the management here. Right when we walked in it felt like I just entered a glamorous studio with the fancy floor tiles. The chairs and benches they had were so comfortable to sit on. There were so many tempting options. I loved the grapefruit green tea that I got. It tasted so fresh and not too sweet. The passion fruit tea was surprisingly not sour like other boba shops. The ovaltine drink was soooo good, tasted smooth and chocolatey, like my childhood. The mango slush was most likely made with fresh fruit as it wasn't as sweet as most places that use mango syrup with pulp. The guava Yakult drink was really good too even though it was only 30% sugar. Omg the egg waffles were crispy on the outside and so fluffy on the inside. They tasted great on their own, but adding ice cream would've been the cherry on top. And I really want to give credit to the workers there today that handled this Karen customer as she asked for a drink replacement for the taro drink her daughter (?) didn't like because it tasted grainy like she was drinking sand. Wish I could add the rolling eyes emoji here. The employee explained to her that it's supposed to have that texture because they use fresh taro and that is the texture of taro. She then proceeded to ask them to make a replacement drink and he explained that they can give her a discount if she buys another drink. She had the audacity to say "oh really? This the first I've heard of that. The other boba places usually do it." Then proceeded to go back to her daughter (?) and muttered under her breath "I'll be making sure to leave a review " Like hell you will lady. Clearly, she doesn't know quality of ingredients when she sees it. Go ahead and drink the powdered taro milk tea elsewhere if you can't appreciate fresh ingredients. Anyways, aside from that very embarrassing encounter with that customer, my experience with my first time at Tsaocaa is very enjoyable. I'd definitely recommend anyone to come here for the best and most refreshing fruit drinks. I'm definitely coming back when I'm around Malden. Also, I didn't get to try it, but they also sell fried chicken here! Which that lady's daughter (?) was happily enjoying at the table as her Karen mom(?) made a scene at the register. Okay, I have been back here approximately five more times now. I think I have it figured out and this is why I am changing my rating to 5 stars. If you use the Chowbus app to order, yes, you will pay about 25% more than if you ordered and wait in store. Now you need to make up your mind whether waiting in store for a good half hour to one hour of your life is worth the extra 25% cost. If you accept the ordering online, though it says your food will be ready by X time, make it X+10 minutes. Now you can figure out when to start driving to pick up your order. If you live within walking distance then I envy you. My initial reaction to the Korean fried chicken was the batter is way too thick. But now that I have had it five more times, I have to say, it's definitely grown on me. It's super crunchy. I recommend the soy garlic flavor and the honey garlic flavor. Also, the hot & spicy version is not spicy at all since my kids eats it with no problem. The secret spicy is like a sweet spicy lol. My chicken, I meant children, are lazy so they always ask which is the chicken without the bones. I recommend the boneless chicken for the kids and bone for the adults. I don't recommend their chicken and fries combo since their fries are just okay. Do a drink and chicken and bubble waffle instead. That's plenty of calories but who is really counting anyways. I was not initially impressed by the drinks but I have now also had it figured out and found some drinks that I really enjoy that is not typical of the ones I would normally order at other boba tea places nearby. I recommend the Lychee mojito with 100 percent sugar. You can lesson as you go but try 100 percent for your first. The mojito drinks goes great with the chicken due to the sparkling soda. If you're not there for their chicken and just want a sweet drink with a plenty of texture that will blow your mind, I recommend the lychee green tea with crystal pearl and milk foam. My god, typing the drink alone is exhausting but just imagining all the things happening in that drink just by its name. I also recommend their fruit yogurt slush and I have tried almost everyone but the blueberry flavor. This is like a tart yogurt drink with a fruit jam mixture at the bottom. You can mix it up prior to drinking. Amazing! My tip is to skip the boba drinks you are used to like matcha, brown sugar, Tati etc. and instead go for the mojito and yogurt drinks here instead. You may find that boba teas are so boring once you tried these other options that Tsaocaa offers. I highly recommend the red bean bubble waffle unless you are not a fan of red bean paste. If you are a fan of red bean paste, which I am, this thing is heavenly and addicting. I haven't tried the other flavors and I just don't think I will either. I have found my favorite. Overall, if you are not using the app, expect a long long wait for your chicken. About 25 minutes or longer. You should add the amount of time standing waiting in line for your order to be taken as well. If it was me, I am going with the app and online ordering all the way. read more

One of the better and preferred boba places in the area but also one of the more expensive places for boba. The drinks are decent with a large variety to choose from between fruity to milk drinks. My go to is their iced strawberry green tea with pearls. Their grapefruit and peach green tea is a favorite as well! Lovee the drinks here, as long as you get the right stuff. I will say the milk foam though has a cheesecake-like taste to it so if that flavor is not your thing Id skip it. (I dont think it tastes good with the fruit teas so make sure to omit it if you get something fruity) My favorites so far would have to be the brown sugar milk tea, the grapefruit green tea, and the blueberry green tea. All cold, but the hot peach oolong and the rose is also delicious. I usually do a sweetness level of 70% personally and it's perfect for me. The first location in the Northshore that I am aware of that makes Korean Fried Chicken! Their fried chicken is pretty delicious for the price and flavor and being the only place in the Northshore, it saves me a 20-30 minute drive into Boston.
