Only giving 2 stars cause I was given BAD sake, I'm a vegetarian so I ordered a vegetarian dish...no rice! It's extra, could never find my waiter dish was "Luke warm". Not to mention that the place is VERY noisy I will try again, my daughter likes it but I've definitely had better. read more

Have to say that we continue to be unimpressed. This was our fourth time eating dinner at Tsang's and it continues to go downhill. This is the second time we've had a waitress who couldn't take the time to fill our water glasses, take our order properly, or give us the time of day. She threw our food on the table instead of placing it nicely on the table, and she brought our appetizer at the same time as our main dishes. The Chicken Pad Thai was the worst we have ever had. The peanuts were old, the noodles were all stuck together, and the dish had no taste. The fried rice was over fried and again, tasteless. The vegetables in the chicken with garlic sauce were undercooked and the chicken was tough. On a bright note, the egg drop soup was tasty, as were the Peking Ravioli. Tsang's has plenty of parking and a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, those don't make up for lack of customer service and tasteless food. We will not be back. read more

sisters choice we ate here for dinner on the day I arrived. food was pretty good. but as you'll see from the photos they dont use Chinese style vegetables.... mostly American Veggies....so before I go any further nothing at all wrong with typical American vegetables. however this is a Chinese restaurant. so my hope is I'm going to get Chunese Food including vegetables. over all not bad the sauces on my two plates were good I would have preferred less sweet and more spicey.... but over all not bad. veggies were not over cooked which is an automatic star. the establishment is very nice. comfortable seating and tables. very clean. cozy enough for an intimate dinner and spacious enough for a group or family. added bonus after your meal they provide hot wash cloths. ++. that was a nice touch. and the wash clothes had a pleasant fragrance. waiter was nice too. although their was so much chatter going on memory of the waiter is vague. but I do remember it was a waiter lol. I'm sure I'll make a return visit to Tsang's simply because its a favourite of some family members. read more

If you're up in Massachusetts and near Hanson you must stop here for the most incredible lunch ever! This place is a gold mine! Clean as a whistle, huge and so much bang for your buck that you'll shake your head in wondering how they do it! The lunch specials include choices of spareribs, chicken wings, crab Rangoon, egg or spring rolls and that's just your first course! We then ordered either beef and broccoli or sweet and sour chicken with your choice of brown, steamed or fried rice and stared when it was brought out to us as each delicious portion served 2 people! All of this was under $10 a person!! Crazy! I'd like to pack them up and bring them to Wilmington, NC as they'd make a fortune! Did I mention they also have a complete Japanese menu with sushi as well? Bravo and know when we come back to the area this is our #1 stop for lunch! read more

With limited Japanese restaurants open during these Covid days this restaurant came recommended. Everyone in our party ordered sushi and I can say that it was probably the worst sushi I've ever had. On top of that the restaurant was crazy busy doing more take-out than dine-in, so it was the dining-in customers that suffered long waits. Maybe this restaurant is better at Chinese food and if so then maybe eliminate the sushi from the menu and focus on what you're good at. read more

They act like they are bothering you and throw food onto the table.... you almost feel guilty, like you have done something wrong. We have been Tsang's customers for many years but in the past few months have been more and more disappointed. The last time we ordered takeout we were missing an entire part of the order. This time we paid $14 for a minced chicken dish that ended up being minced celery with iceberg lettuce wraps and a few small bits of ?chicken. Lots of good reviews so I decided to give Trang's a try. Called for takeout and service was quick. I was quoted 25 minutes but arrived in 10 decided to go in and wait they asked for my name and it was already to go. Glad I didn't wait the 25 minutes like they said. Anyway food was ok at best, everything was blah. I wasn't sure if it was just me but there were 5 of us and everyone felt the same. Always consistently excellent! This is our go to Chinese restaurant and has been for many years. We just had take out tonight and I realized I should take the time to review them. Come for the sushi, stay for the drinks. Ive been here several times both eat in and take out. The service is usually pretty good, however there was a snafu one time with cash left for a tip. But, the manager rectified the situation that evening, with that gesture I was happy again. They have sushi and also Chinese food. After spending my entire meal with my hand wrapped in an ice pack, I can safely say I will not be venturing back to Tsang's anytime in the near future. I was actually looking forward to trying this place having heard a few good things from previous diners, but I left disappointed and with a burnt hand. All unfortunate. The service was below sub par, as was the food. We were with a big group and drinks came scattered, as did the food, several orders were missed and messed up. I was handed my STEAMING HOT plate, over another patrons head, with no warning that the plate was hot and had the option of either dropping it on said persons head or holding on until I got it on the table. I'm typically fine with handling hot items as I have worked in the food industry years ago, but this was HOT. I then spent the rest of my meal with my hand wrapped in ice, not exactly the relaxing meal I was looking forward to. Even more disappointing, said dish on burning plate was sent back, it was disgusting. Sorry Tsang's, but I'd rather spend the money on Asian cuisine elsewhere. read more

I don't know why...but I seem to almost never dine at a place that is sub-par. That being said, "WHOOHOO!" is almost an understatement for this restaurant! I say almost because the evening started with a small mishap that was sort of worked out prior to entering the establishment. (I waited for a parking space that was not once but TWICE taken while I waited for the space owners to vacate! I eventually got the space w/o attitude from the drivers. However, both their wives turned their noses up as if I were the devil reincarnated.) Once inside Tsang's, I forgot the inconvenience of the parking lot (6 year old girls have a way of alleviation minor stresses). Our party of 4 (two adult males, one pregnant wife and their six year old daughter) were seated within 15 minutes of our opening the outer door... on a Saturday evening! STAR number 1! Did I fail to mention that a full parking lot denotes a FULL house as well? Star two came as we were almost immediately welcomed by a waitress that was trained by someone who is intimate, passionate and well versed with customer service etiquette. Stars three and four were awarded via our table when the appetizers arrived promptly and seasoned to perfection. Service attentiveness continued to improve as the waitress must have held cerebral connections on a metaphysical level with EACH person at the table because the main courses magically appeared as the appetizers vanished from their respective plates. The main dishes were ever so ambrosia, congenial, and herbaceous that they were overly copacetic! (I can say this with confidence as 1. I am a specialty food broker 2. Both the pregnant French woman and her 30 something year six year old shared light dancing in there eyes as they sampled the tables various delectable fares. 3. Her husband owns a restaurant in the heart of Paris, France, and he too was complimenting dishes/food which he is routinely averse! The final star came when we received our bill: Under $100!!!! Green tea, Oolong tea, Calamari, Seaweed salad, egg rolls, spring rolls, chicken fingers, jumbo fried shrimp, Moo Shi Shrimp, Szechuan Shrimp, Fish Fillet with Mixed Garden Vegetables, and Prawns with Tangerine Flavored Sauce! ~Whew!~ Tsang's Village Cafe in Hanover, MA (South Shore) is a MUST dine/experience!!! read more

I'm just going to go out on a limb here and say that Tsang's is the best thing to ever happen to Hanover. 1. It's beautiful 2. It's half sushi/half Chinese food, best of both worlds 3. They have the most delicious Mai Tai's in the universe 4. Both the bar and the dining room are open until midnight, which for Hanover is downright outrageous Plus, the staff is genuine and always helpful. If anyone ever had the misfortune of getting lost on the South Shore and breaking down in front of my house, I would take them here to cheer them up. Alrighty, I'm on a little bit of a "5-star streak", but I wanted to review some of my favorite restaurants to start. I'm a "glass is half full" kind of gal. I love Tsang's. I love the restaurant itself, it's very contemporary/ modern Asian vibe *especially for Hanover* is very asthetically pleasing, while the staff remain very welcoming and pleasant. The food is so delicious. There are several Chinese-American options *I especially love all of their lo meins, the crab rangoon and the sesame chicken*, none of which are greasy *as in a lot of restaurants*, all of which always taste very fresh and perfectly seasoned. I guess it's pretty standard Chinese fare, but I love Chinese food, and this is some GOOD Chinese food. *I'm not a big fan of their fried rice, just doesn't seem to have much flavor to me, but that's the only negative thing I could possibly say about this place, and the lo mein way makes up for it.* Their sushi is totally delish, too. Very fresh, lots of options *though I am kind of a wimp, so I generally stick to tuna :0)*, very good. I had the maki lunch special earlier this week, which had california rolls, cucumber rolls, maki rolls *taki maki? Is that what they're called??*, salad and started with miso soup. It was about $10, which I found really reasonable, and it could easily feed 2 people. *I ended up bringing half of it home.* Yummy yum yummy. *They have a really inexpensive lunch menu with Chinese entree/app options. Around 5 bucks a plate.* Service is always very good, but why do I always have to ask for soy sauce? Seriously. In a Chinese restaurant. I don't eat Chinese food, so I've only had sushi here. The sushi is great! It's always made fresh and there's lots of variety. They offer small rolls so I've been able to try some new kinds. They also have a chef's choice sashimi boat that was amazing. The atmosphere is upscale Asian, and the service is friendly and prompt. Every now and then I get a serious craving for Chinese food and since Hubs and I didn't feel like traveling too far, we decided on Tsang's. Now, considering our last visit was a little less than stellar, I was willing to give them another chance. I like that you can also get sushi available here, but I was in the mood for Chinese and so be it. We started off with each a cup of wonton soup and then we split an order of egg rolls (2), boneless spare ribs, an order of pork fried rice, and an order of sesame chicken. A lot of food? You betcha. However, it was all really good. The egg rolls were definitely some of the best I've had and we couldn't tell if it was a ginger spice, or even cinnamon that added just a little bit of a kick to it. The sesame chicken was fresh and hot (temperature, not spicy) with a sweet glaze to it. It really hit the spot that night and I am so glad we stopped in. The decor is really upscale and the service was definitely better this time around. Although not "cheap" like many take-out places, the quality and quantity definitely match the price point. Went to Tsangs after driving by a few times and hearing good things about it. I got there a little early for a date and the bartenders and host were friendly and offered to help, but don't make Mojitos, so mint leaves can feel safe in Hanover. For dinner we got a sushi boat (in all honesty we probably mis-read the menu) which came with several different varieties of nigiri and one roll. It wasn't what we were expecting and didn't come on a big wooden pirate boat, but rather a standard oversized plate presented artistically which was probably better for everyone involved. The main reason for the good rating was the lobster maki special that we ordered after the boat. It came with the head and claws in tact and they essentially reconstructed the tail out of the rolls and tried to put the poor lobster back together. Bad for him, but good for us. On a side note the waitress spilled a glass of wine on us, but was quick to clean up and resat us elsewhere and brought a complimentary drink, which was pretty much expected, so that was at least a sign of a not-thoughtless staff. The ambiance was nice as well...high ceilings and nicely appointed, but it was lighted a bit brightly for an intimate or cozy dinner...maybe hence the name Cafe? Would go back again for the food, presentation and the general atmosphere. read more

STAY AWAY DISGUSTING Ordered takeout on 5/31/20 from here got home found a dead bug on the bottom of the box of peking raviolis . Called and spoke to Ken he said come back to a new order (really). Didn't want new order as I was grossed out I wanted my money back. He said ok but bring the box with the big.. When I arrived he handed me 10 bucks I said you owe me $32.50. He said I'm only giving you back the money for the 1 app. Safe to say won't be going back to that place not sure Ken was paying attention during the customer service part of working in a restaurant acted like he was doing me a favor. They are the best! Great "fresh" food, wonderful staff and an extremely pleasant atmosphere. Love the tuna sushi and they make the best Mai Tai. The only other Chinese restaurant we go to is their Tsang's location in Duxbury. read more

I was plenty surprised to discover halfway decent Chinese food somewhat close to my new hood. I have tried two other places, one has TERRIBLE food, the other is OK but not very convenient for me. Since I find myself in Hanover fairly frequently on weekends (I take my car to the Sullivan Tire there, the Hanover Mall for quick errands, and the love of my life, the Super Target in Hanover), I wanted to check this place out after hearing good things from a few people. This is definitely not the best Chinese ever, but it's good Chinese-American food, and it hits the spot when you want some fried rice and egg rolls :) I had one of the lunch specials--shrimp with mixed vegetables, an egg roll, and pork fried rice. My friend had beef and broccoli, crab rangoon, and steamed rice. We were both happy with our orders, and everything was tasty. I have two complaints though--our waitress was not very attentive at all (it took a good 10 minutes for her to acknowledge us at all, and it took forever to get the check. She also did not get my order right--we were going to split an order of egg rolls and I wanted the boneless ribs with my special; instead, she just gave me an agg roll as the side. However, we were going to a movie afterwards so I just took the order as is. Regardless, it was good food, and the interior is really nice and clean. I'll definitely be back at some point, and I'd like to try the sushi too. read more
