I've known the management staff and bartenders for years, so I was beyond excited to see them bring back the iconic Tryst. It truly feels like a homecoming! Johnny is always so welcoming, and Bobby makes some of the best drinks around. We stopped in on Friday of Valentine's Day weekend, and the atmosphere was perfect. It has that elevated gastropub vibe, but the food absolutely exceeds expectations. My favorite is the steak frites -- cooked perfectly, and the topping takes it to a solid 10/10. My friend ordered the tacos and loved them as well. They also had a DJ spinning great music, which brought all the good vibes and made the night even more fun. We came for lunch on a lazy Monday. It was slow in Mizner. We sat at the bar. We had very good personable service from Brendan (Brandon?). There was only one other person dining while we were there. They said they'd been very busy here over the weekend. We started by sharing their little gem wedge salad with blue cheese. This was very good. He had raw oysters on the half shell ($1 each). They were tiny, but he said they were good. He liked them. I had their "chargrilled" oysters. These were the same tiny oysters with a piece of cheese on top. I did not taste any garlic or the lemon. I did not care for them. They nicely took mine off the invoice. Based on service alone (and the salad), they deserve 4 stars. It's a cute gastropub with potential.... Plus if you like raw oysters, those $1 ones are a bargain. read more

Walking around after the movies with friends and decided to stop in around 2:30 for a cocktail. It Is not very big but the decor, food and service were amazing. It has an amazing set up. Large bar inside and facing outside and another bar outside facing into the restaurant. The decor is beautiful like sitting in someone's living room. Everyone enjoyed their cocktails. In 2013 the first Tryst was closed in Delray Beach and recently reopened in Mizner Park. The owner was hands on in this eatery and took our drink and food order. The best deal on oysters are here at only $1.00 each 'Everyday All Day' and went well with a cold Funky Buddha craft beer. The fish dip was good but the sliced jalapeno peppers were excellent. The bar had a nice patio area where we sat on this cool day. Love the old photos hanging on the walls with an open view kitchen concept permitting transparency. Sunday brunch offers $6 mimosas and Tuesday $10 martinis. The gender assigned bathroom had a unique 1920's theme with a gold toilet and a gold urinal with a tower of ice (first time ever seeing this and realize its a way to reduce odors). Mashed potatoes side and string beans were served with pork chop and were tasty and cooked just right. The vibe was off. The music was blah. Could hardly hear it. It was early, maybe 5ish. So perhaps that is not a good time to judge as they had just opened. One waiter -built guy - was at a table closest to open kitchen - shoving food into his mouth while standing up at the table. Happy Hour is available all day on Mondays! The fish tacos were delicious, and I appreciated that they had a generous amount of fish--not like some places where you barely get any. The Pub Smash Burger was also very good and flavorful. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great spot regardless of the weather. This was my first visit to Tryst, and overall I'd say the experience was good, with a lot of promise. The biggest letdown was the menu situation. The smaller menu already felt limited, and on top of that, several items weren't available. That part was disappointing, not because things were missing, but because no one mentioned it upfront. If we had known right away, it honestly wouldn't have bothered me. Food-wise, it was a mixed bag. I ordered the shaved ribeye focaccia, but it came out on French bread instead. Not the end of the world, but it wasn't what was described, and that matters when you're ordering. That said, the vibe absolutely works. The decor is beautiful and gives off strong 1920s Art Deco energy. It feels stylish, intimate, and well thought out. You can tell they're aiming for something special here. And the drinks? Easily the highlight. 10/10. The bartender Maria seriously throws down. Cocktails were balanced, creative, and clearly made by someone who knows what they're doing. Bottom line: Tryst is a promising spot. With a little more transparency from staff and better menu consistency, this could be a standout. There are some good things about Tryst and that includes the really nice service and the comfortable seating. Drinks were standard and okay but it's the food and of course the reason we are there that left us a little disappointed. We tried several items and all were standard and while nothing was awful or in the inedible category - nothing wowed either and maybe we just ordered the wrong items but much of what we had was forgettable. The Meat Loaf and two accompanying sides were okay and I've had a lot worse. The smash burger was also okay and by no means terrible but not enough to draw me back. A salad was also in the middle category. I don't live very far from Mizner Park and I might go back for drinks. It's probably more of a two and a half but that option is not available. read more

Tryst is a great place to grab drinks....my experience with the food though could have been a lot better. Both myself and my husband ordered their NY steak special (medium) with scallop potato and asparagus. The steak arrived extremely undercooked it looked more like a rare and the thing is they pre cut the steak for you, so you as the chef see this and still send it out tsk tsk. And honestly the plating looked like they didn't care almost like it was rushed. As you can see with the photo the asparagus more impaticular looks thrown on there no seasoning or anything. The steak lacked seasoning as well. I ended up taking out leftovers home to cook and salt them properly. The scallop potato was cooked good again could use some more salt but good and my husband got the "beef tallow" fries which were also under cooked and to me personally had zero beef tallow taste. Won't be going back for food but for the vibes and drinks. read more

My friend and I stumbled upon this place while we were waiting for a dinner reservation and ended up stopping in for happy hour. I was surprised at how amazing the deal was! Not only did they had a large number of handcrafted cocktails that were half off, but happy hour is all week (including weekends!). I had The Breeze and the Prickly Pear Mojito and both were really delicious. My friend had the Lychee Martini and it was by far the best Lychee Martini we've both had. For under $10, you really can't beat that price, especially in Boca and in Mizner park. The bartender we had (I believe her name was Katherine) was incredibly attentive and friendly, and we met the owner on the way out, and he was an incredibly nice guy. Fl, I would say, you could always find a spot to check out this fun corner in the downtown Mizner Plaza. Ample parking in the tower lots. The 'bar menu' is much improved of past. This is a pretty spot that could draw a regular crowd. Menu is classic in many ways, think Mac and Cheese, Meatloaf. Offerings under $30. We started with 18 oysters. They were a dollar apiece and they were fabulous! I had the fish tacos (2 in an order) which were fresh and tasty. My husband had a burger with fries which he really liked. My friend had the Bronzino and she accompanied it with green beans. and the spinach. Her husband had a pork chop which he said should've been cooked just a little less, but other than that, it was good. Great casual bar space, but we were there for the eats, so we were seated in a comfy booth. No disappointments, my bone-in pork chop was done perfectly, my wife LOVED the meatloaf, and my friend's branzino fish dinner was tasty. All the sides were delicious, and the servings were large enough we all had to-go. Prices were reasonable, drinks were tasty. And they have a strong happy hour.
