I tried this restaurant for the first time today, and I am so unbelievably glad I did. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we had stumbled upon a true hidden gem. I went with a friend who had never tried Turkish or Mediterranean cuisine before, and we were both completely blown away. Every single dish was exceptional. The flavors were vibrant and beautifully balanced, the meats were perfectly seasoned and unbelievably tender, and everything tasted like it came straight from a grandmother's kitchen -- comforting, authentic, and made with so much care. I'm adventurous when it comes to different cuisines but very particular about quality, and this place exceeded every expectation. As a Los Angeles native, I've had the privilege of experiencing an incredible food scene and traveling throughout Europe and beyond -- and this honestly ranks among the best meals I've ever had. The restaurant had great ambiance, the staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely lovely, which made the entire experience even more special. I truly hope more people discover this wonderful spot. Been twice in a few days. Lunch was great. Pita and chili oil fantastic. My lunch partner had been to Turkey in the last few years and confirmed everything was as she remembered. I had the chicken sautee, it was excellent. Avoid the water. Dinner a few days later, maybe half the place seated - couldn't get any attention to fill our empty glasses (Turkish tea and a ginger ale) the entire meal. The lamb kabobs (sans the kabob stick) were some of the best I've had. The acili ezme was amazing. Unfortunately, I think they made my plate (except the lamb), set it out, then made my wife's and my lamb. My veggies were overcooked and room temperature. Avoid the water. It's nasty. The water, lack of service, and the room temp veggies keeps this from being 5 star. read more

My coworker invited here for lunch and I was not prepared for this to be a sit down type of establishment; however, it was well decorated. The restaurant was not too busy and we were seated promptly. The staff provided us menus and took our drink orders, but we waited a while for our waitress to take our order and for the food (especially for the small amount of patrons in the restaurant). I can't believe my colleague and I were the only ones in the restaurant for lunch today. People are seriously missing out on this fantastic Mediterranean restaurant. Nicely decorated on the inside, we were (quite obviously) seated quickly. They have a nice variety to choose from and smaller portions for lunch. I ordered hummus and lamb shish kabob and all was absolutely delicious. If you do go here, please save room for dessert. I ordered the pistachio baklava and it was not only the best baklava I've ever had but also the best dessert I've had in a long, long time. read more

My husband and I tried Truva based on the reviews. He had the ribeye kabob and I had the beyti kabab. The ribeye was definitely better. It was accompanied by rice and green beans (appeared to be canned). The beyti (spicy) was not good at all. It's described as spicy and was not spicy at all and very strong lamb flavor, but tender. It was accompanied by rice and yogurt. It would have been nice to have a little salad with it. Both meals came out quickly, but were just above room temperature. We are fans of ethnic food, but Truva just fell short for us. read more

Truva is one of the best Turkish restaurants I've tried, and I have tried many! It's newly opened and tucked away in an unassuming business area, but close to lots of great shopping like Reclectic, which is why I was in the area! I'm so glad I decided to check it out. Very spacious and pleasant seating, with very kind and attentive service that can help make recommendations on the best things to order. We got the seasonal salad (pickled cabbage, olives, carrots, etc) and the Adana kebab (lamb and beef seasoned meatball with rice). Everything was super fresh and flavorful. We also ordered the manti (beef dumplings in yogurt sauce). And for dessert, we learned that they make their own baklava and kunefe in house. We ordered both and OMG, both so so good. I can honestly say that their hummus is the best hummus I've had in a very long time. It's creamy, it's tasty, the pita bread was warm, it was really, really good. Our entrees were very good, a little bland with the presentation and slightly undersized, but still really good and very tasty. 4.5/5 Came in close to closing for takeout, and got the spicy beyti kebab, doner kebab, and pistachio baklava. Portions were definitely bigger for the doner kebab than the spicy beyti, but the meat on both were flavorful and tender. Pistachio baklava wasn't our favorite - it was more dough-y than we'd prefer. Price is definitely on the expensive side and because we got takeout, it might have been more worth it to eat at the restaurant. Regardless, we loved the food and would come back! read more

By far the best mix meat plate I've had. We got a mix meat plate with chicken, beef, and lamb all very tender and well seasoned. The service was great they kept coming to our table checking to make sure we were good. We got a mix meat plate for two but could easily feed 3 with other sides. Awesome restaurant. We were a little uncertain at first due to lack of reviews on Yelp, but a neighbor recommended and then found some Google reviews so decided to try it. It's tucked away--almost hidden--in what used to be a shopping center but is now mostly offices and fitness centers off 51 near McAlpine Elementary. We arrived just before 6 pm on a Saturday night and there was just one other car in the lot/group at a table. They asked if we had reservations--we hadn't made any but had different sort of "reservations" due to lack of other customers. It turns out we were just early We hadn't been there long before at least 2/3 of tables were full--so we will make reservations in the future! We were seated immediately in a large booth in the corner away from the door--nice to be away from the door on a cold evening! Water and fresh warm pita bread with infused oil dip was provided quickly and we placed appetizer order (hummus and falafel) then studied menu some more. The hummus was freshly made and lovely, the falafel is possibly the best I've ever had. The patties were generously sized for sharing. Our table tried four entrees (Sultan's favorite X 2-one with chicken, one with beef--Iskender Kebab, and special Beyti Kebab). Mine was the Iskender Kebab--gyro meat (lamb and beef I think) layered on top of cut-up pita with a tomato sauce and salted yogurt on the side. It was wonderful and I brought half home for lunch the next day. I sampled everyone's dinner, the Beyti Kebab was a bit spicy for my tastes, but lovely flavors. The Sultan's favorites had baba ganoush base with kebab meat layered on top. Very pleasant. Everyone had generous portions with plenty of leftovers for lunch. We tried two desserts. Baklava and Rice Pudding. Both were very generous portions...plenty for four people to share! The restaurant has about 15 tables, well spaced and the acoustics were nicely balanced. Even at 2/3 capacity it wasn't so loud you couldn't hear your dinner partners talking. Music was very much in the background! While tucked away in a strange little shopping center, it is well worth the effort to find! Got the falafel and hummus appetizers, which were delicious. Falafel are 3 3ish inch across pucks, we got a double order for 4 people. Pita bread and the oil dipping sauce they provided for each table were fantastic, would love to figure out what all is included in the oil. I got the beyti kebab, which I will be thinking about for a while. Fantastic flavor, very savory and filling. It was on the spicer side, but balanced out well with the provided rice and yogurt sauce. My dinner was the most reasonable portion and I still left with leftovers. The rest of my table had massive servings and plenty to take home. Appetizers came out very quickly. I cannot tell you how truly outstanding my lunch was at this new restaurant! My friend and I were treated to excellent service and food that was on another level! Everything was fresh and delicious and so well prepared that I cannot wait to return and bring other friends to introduce them to this place....we had so much food and EVERYTHING was fantastic - every single dish. The menu is quite large and everything sounded so good but my friend settled on stuffed grape leaves (brilliant), and a lamb kebab platter that comes with a fresh salad and wonderful white rice. Plus he tried the cabbage rolls that he said were fantastic. I had the babaganoush (best I've ever had) and a kofte kebab platter with salad and white rice (how do they make the rice so tasty?!) For dessert, the rice pudding and Turkish tea were a perfect ending to a perfect meal. My friend declared the rice pudding the best he's had. You should seek out this hidden gem (it's on Hwy. 51 in the old Riccio's space if you know where that is) IMMEDIATELY - Charlotte is so lucky to have such an excellent restaurant. GO NOW! read more

What a gem! The location is a little confusing but it's such a cute and comfortable restaurant. The staff were so welcoming and helpful with discussing some of the menu choices. The food was sooooo good! I went with my family for a birthday dinner and we had two apps with 4 different entrees. Each dish was sooooo flavorful and delicious. Finished with rice pudding and baklava. Had to unbutton the waistband for the drive home and yet I would still eat more if I had it. They just opened 3 weeks ago and are working out some kinks - like only having 2 of the 4 menu items on the dessert menu available - but we didn't mind since they made up for it in quality.
