Very courteous, easy to talk to, gives honest assessment on whether the repair/restoration will meet expectations. Prices seem very fair.

The Music & Arts store stands like a temple to the fragile hopes of students and parents arming…read morethemselves for another year of rehearsals, scales, and the long march toward competence. Its aisles gleam with reeds, strings, and cases--objects that, in their mute silence, carry the weight of countless hours to come. I found what I needed: supplies and equipment, the small instruments of survival in the regimented symphony of school. The workers moved with efficiency, their knowledge sharp and their actions brisk, yet there was a certain absence in their demeanor, as though they operated behind a glass wall. Helpful, yes, but with a coolness that left no room for warmth--transaction without communion. In some ways, it felt fitting: music itself demands a distance, a discipline, before it can give back joy. Still, one longs for a flicker of shared enthusiasm, some recognition that buying a clarinet reed is also an investment in human persistence against the yawning void of silence. Efficiency will always get the job done; warmth, when it appears, makes it unforgettable. I wish you joy and ease in the school year ahead, and may your new supplies carry you toward moments of true resonance.

The used instruments sales are in very rough shape so we didn't purchase there. Very frustrating start to this relationship with this store. Hopefully the instructor is great but if he has no more slots then pointless.

I entrusted them with my 1965 Fender Jazzmaster to add a Mastery bridge and tremolo, as well as Curtis Novak pickups, in addition to a setup using their state-of-the-art Plek machine. The guitar now plays and sounds perfectly. Steve Blake and his team are far more interested in helping a musician sound their best than making a sale. More than once, they've talked me out of purchasing something from Baltimore Music Company. I've also enlisted their perspective on purchases I've made from the likes of Gruhn Guitars, Matt Umanov, Wilcutt Guitars and others. They've earned my trust again and again and again. Finally, in a world where most music stores are strictly an online thing, the Baltimore Music Company is a great place to hang. You can noodle guitars, basses, amps and stomp boxes in what is easily the nicest, most well-appointed music store I've ever been in. More than once, I've visited the Baltimore Music Company with a friends to shoot the breeze with the gang there before grabbing a beer at Union Craft Brewery a few doors down.

I was hoping ZZ could repair it for my Mom, as her birthday was coming up soon, and I was hoping to gift my violin to her. She has always wanted to learn how to play it, but never had the chance until recently after she retired. As a child of working class parents in a small town, her parents simply couldn't afford the materials and lessons for her to follow her passion. ZZ did a phenomenal job examining the violin and walking me through the various options for repairs and what they would cost. In addition to his true professionalism and extensive knowledge, he is also delightfully down-to-earth and lovely to work with. I continue to be impressed with his craftsmanship, and am eternally grateful to have found him on my search for local luthiers! He has completely transformed my violin into a beautiful looking and sounding instrument that I know my Mom will treasure for years to come. Cannot recommend him highly enough for those needing expert violin repairs and advice!
