I attempted to get TruGreen to respond to four different emails and texts with NO response. Extremely dissatisfied with the service. I purchased several sprinklers to be certain to keep the lawn is watered all summer. However, there was no improvement at all. I purchased the whole package, over $800. The seed never germinated, and there were brown patches where there weren't patches before! My biggest complaint is that they never contacted me to discuss the matter. I just got a call to renew my service. Really? Be forewarned. Try another service. No complaints with the technicians who came out. They were sympathetic and kind and confirmed that I had legitimate reasons to complain, but they couldn't do anything about it. I was told to contact TrueGreen - FYI, when you sign on, you agree to auto-renewal unless you cancel. If I could award 0 Stars, I would. My yard is less than a quarter acre and I pay them over $800.00 a year. I am infiltrated with ants currently and they 'do not treat ants'. That is bullshit as their website says that they DO treat! I have been a customer for years. I had a supervisor here who told me I have grubs.!!!!! I don't have grubs, I know what grub damage looks like. While fertilizing two days ago, a nice employee confirmed fire ants!!!! I canceled my account this morning. read more

The technicians and people on the phone are very friendly. But I just had to replace my entire back lawn because it was destroyed by grubs. The front lawn is fine. So, evidently, they forgot to apply a grubicide to the back lawn. When I first asked a technician about the brown spots in the back lawn, he told me it was due to a fungus, red thread. I then went out and bought & applied a fungicide myself. It was only when I dug into the lawn that I discovered a white grub in almost every square inch! The other problem I have had with TruGreen is that the technicians never leave a sheet telling me what was applied during their visits. I have therefore cancelled my service and would advise against using tthem. read more

I called True green and asked for explanation... I was told by the tech. who showed up that was Grubs and he is sorry... So a few "plus" comments but don't fooled. We have 2 acres, which includes barn (no animals) & house. The local lawn/landscape company sold to TruGreen a few years back to head to other endeavors, so we didn't have a choice initially. For a few years it was ok, then service tended to get worse and worse over past 3yrs. Wildflower gardens sprayed for weeds (sections killed!!), overspray into large house-perimeter gardens, plants killed, apologies, applications on days we requested no apps (train service dogs on weekends & preferred no Friday apps), apologies & then adherance to requested days. Some recent techs were good and understanding when I asked to avoid several areas I had seeded with clover (not a weed in my book and the start of lawn replacement for some areas), but other techs showed up with not enough chemicals and a long hose (two acres with hose??? they used to use the riding thing), said he'd have to come back next week. I think it was two weeks later (this past June), I was IN one of my gardens behind the barn, my husband saw them on his way out and they NEVER came into that part of the yard (about 1/3 acre) where I was, so who knows if they really did the rest of the yard after he left???? So, ok, service has been inconsistently mediocre. Most recently, since mid-June, I've been fighting something that is eating leaves and flower petals (!!!) of about $300-400 worth of flowers I've planted/seeded for our daughter's wedding NEXT weekend. Early on I thought it might be slugs, or budworms (which there is SOME evidence of), but then I could tell it was also beetle damage. No bunnies or deer on the cameras so it's a little pest, and it happens overnight. Basil, pepper, salvia, violets, yarrow, daisy, zinnia, totally defoliated, and the dahlias, echinacea, coral bells, hollyhocks, beans, potatoes are now under attack! Thinking it was IN the gardens and not the lawn (since it SHOULD'VE been treated- my bad!!!) I treated all gardens and garden perimeters with diamataceous earth, Neem Oil, Neem Max, and most recently Bt-k (but then it rained less than 12 hrs later!!) in the past month or so. Saw LOTS of dead June bugs around the gardens after I treat, and this past week I've put out some water containers with lights and have been trapping hundreds of June bugs (which start as slugs!). Caught several June bugs tonight mating, so who knows how many I missed! These should've been treated in the lawn by TruGreen. I am SO aggravated, frustrated, I shouldn't have to track down people to DO THEIR JOB. We've been here 22 yrs, got rid of horrible grub problem when we moved in, and now this, of course the year I NEED the flowers. I called tonight, told them I want compensation for damage done and refund for services this year. Supposedly they will get back to me within 24-48 hours but will it be in the midst of family arriving from out of state and country. Won't fix things in time for the wedding flowers, I've had to order more online. :( After they fix the problem for this year I will likely cancel for the following year. I have canceled my service for both properties and all services. The billing was not correct, The service each time at the properties was poor at best. The re-service did not happen timely and sometimes was never rescheduled so I would have to call to make sure I could get on the schedule. Managing your service was a full-time job and the local rep who came to the property did not have the proper chemicals so he would have to come back to spray for weeds. He would say he changed it in the truck but did not and I would have to call. He came to the house and wanted to treat the lawn when it was raining out and we were getting a storm 2 plus inches of water. I got triple billed for Moscito service and had a hard time getting it off my bill. The bills for the 2nd property we in the wrong name The rep and manager that sold me the services were not truthful with the Moscito service. When I called them with my frustration the manager said that I should cancel the service, SO I DID! KI The local office that serviced 02025 zip I think??? Plymouth MA, if that is the office locally they are horrible!!! if they are not the office The one that services 02025 is NOT good! Terrible service all around except for the customer service rep that helped me cancel my service, SHE WAS GREAT!!! I have put a new service in place with ThE WEED MAN that was recommended to be from other customers in 02025 who left TrueGreen, THE WEED MAN IS EXCELLENT!!! We just bought a house and had expensive landscaping done. The landscaper recommended we hire a lawn service at least for the first year as the lawn was new. I hired TruGreen. I thought it was for one year or service, it wasn't, but that's my bad for not understanding the terms. I was able to cancel when I learned this mistake. However, during the period of service I had problems ranging from slightly annoying, to dear god I will never hire these people again. The slightly annoying was that I had instructed the technicians to ring the doorbell so that I could let them in the gate, which was inaccessible from the outside. They rarely did. However, the truly disastrous, the my god I will never hire these people again, was that one of the first technicians had told me that a particular service was not recommended on new lawns and that was what he was there to do. Now I specifically told the sales person on the phone this situation. And I thought they had given me the appropriate services. After a lot of hassle I got my money back for that service. The truly horrific part of this is that, at least I presume, that they performed this same service towards the end of the service. As immediately after this service my lawn looked like a disaster (and still currently does). Honestly I was just going to be done with them. Even after I realized that I still technically had service I was going to politely cancel. The cancellation call was very unprofessional, still I decided I was done with them. But then I receive a call from one of their sales people and it did not show up as a TruGreen number. After I describe in detail what had happened. And why I was not continuing service with them. He proceeded to tell me he thought I was making the wrong decision. I was just going to let everything slide and not do anything except that comment was completely unwarranted given that a year after I hire someone to keep my lawn looking nice. OK, so we moved into this new house in South of Boston... Decided to get treatment by truegreen after quoting around, they offered "less expensive pricing" compared to others. Started the 1 yr treatment spring, it is now fall. Spent the year option paying for nothing. Adding pics of the main area of our grass, they never treated against weed properly nor grass grew as described by the sales person. Definitely not satisfied with this service. If you want to be ripped off by incompetent lazy people that do an incomplete job, by all means, call TruGreen and sign up. They overcharge and under deliver. I have them on camera performing the treatment on my lawn; they covered about 1/3 of my lawn, did it in about 90 seconds, killed my good grass, and did nothing to stop or prevent weeds. Called back for the laughable "TruGreen Guarantee" and they came back out and did even less work the second time around. This is a marketing company plain and simple. They do crap work and they do not stand behind their many many marketing lines and promises. I only wish I educated myself sooner so that I did not get ripped off. Do not make the same mistake I did. Read reviews, join FB groups in your local town/area and ask around, everyone will tell you TruGreen is the literal worst pick you can make for lawn treatment/care. I have been using TruGreen's service for the last 8-9 years - I have to honestly say their service is and has been terrific- I have a granddaughter that loves being in our monster back yard surrounded by trees plants grass and to make sure she doesn't get any mosquito bites Tru Green sprays so there are no bugs day or night - however they had to come back and re spray one time last year 2020 and the very next day they sprayed and the bugs and mosquitoes were gone for the rest of the summer. the technicians must be trained really well because they are excellent and they arrive on your property and they are always pleasant do their job knock on the door to let me know if they are finished. I considered a 2 rating to be nice, but I just can't do it. Tru-Green's service and customer relations model is one of the worst I have ever witnessed. The communication experience is a nightmare. They put very nice frontline people on the phone with you and instruct them through scripts as to how they are to answer customer questions and what to say. Sometimes robotic. In my time with TruGreen, I received numerous calls trying to upsell me on other services, but zero to talk about my lawn. I called them multiple times to try to help them be aware of their service problems, to no avail. Frankly, I don't know how good a job they have done with my lawn. I see what I see, and I think OK, but nothing great. Seems to me for the investment, it should look nicer. But then I woudn't know, because there is no one to talk to about it, even though I tried. To say my experience with TruGreen was not good would be an understatement. After taking care of my own lawn for many years I decided now having two kids it was time to sub out one of my chores and fertilization seemed like a good one. The biggest mistake I made was going with TruGreen over one of the local guys. After my first spring application my lawn was striped and discolored from an incredibly uneven application. After speaking with customer service they gave 15% off my next application. Well things didn't get better, discoloration continued and now the weeds were piling up. I quickly cut ties and moved on to a local contractor who has been fantastic. To top it all off I have been called no less than 5 times since i left about coming back. I am a commercial customer of TruGreen Lawn care in Southern New Hampshire. I signed up for the program the sale rep suggested. The service and communication has been extremely poor. The service has been late and inefficient. When calling, they always have an excuse- "you did not buy enough service", "Our services don't kill all the weeds, you misunderstood." "Because you did not buy all our services, we do not guarantee our work." (All direct quotes from TruGreen's office). We are already paying a great deal of money for the service, but told by the staff, we should buy more! There is no interest in the issues we are experiencing, they half heartedly apologize, but do nothing to rectify problems. The completely destroyed my beautiful lawn! Have been using them for fertilizer and weed killer application for past 2 years since they took over for Turflogic. They came yesterday to perform aeration and overseeing. Used a ride-on aerator in the pouring rain. Completely destroyed large areas of my lawn. Didn't touch others (thankfully) and then proceeded to hand scatter seed over the muddy wasteland that is now my lawn. Run away screaming! read more

Our lawn looks like a weed field and no matter how many times we call or my sending the details online, NOTHING improves. I prepay every year, and if I hadn't prepaid $525,00 this year, I would not allow a TruGreen vehicle on my property ever again. When and if we're able to get to talk with someone on the phone, they're all apologies and say they will give this information to a manager, and the manager will call us shortly. Still waiting on that promise. As somebody who's in sales and customer service, I would NEVER put anybody through what we've been through. I'm surprised they're still open and running, as this is, by far, the worst home service I've ever dealt with. Hundreds of dollars later, and no service, I can tell you to STAY AWAY! I then received an email stating the tech would be at my home today. I immediately called the service number and refused service. I stated very clearly, I did not want them entering my property or providing service. The call center tech took the info, asked why I didn't wish to continue with their services and said she would be sure to cancel the treatment. I arrived home today to signs in my yard and a confirmation email of the services they provided today. I was Pissed!! I called the service number again and todays call center rep said there was no record of yesterday's call and that approved the continuation of services by not cancelling then said I had approved it in an email last month. BULL SHIT! If my lawn burns out from being over fertilized I'll be seeing them in small claims for the funds to replace my lawn with another service provider. read more

Nowadays hard to come by. Kudos! 2. The down side, again the local office doesn't care. The dead lawn, they still didn't treat for almost half of it. Long story: - Again poor communication. They did not notify me in any way and decided they have the rights to access and put chemical on my property. - For the whole year, half my lawn not treated. If it was a misunderstanding, why they suddenly know where my lawn is? - I am not complaining they aerate and re-seed my dead lawn. But guys, half of it are still not treated. This is why I think Main office wants to do the right thing, but local office doesn't care. - They are clueless how to find your property line. The sales guy I sign up with, I specifically ask if I can meet with the local technician to define the property. He said no need. So I used google, took a snapshot and drew out the property for him. I have been a long time customer of TruGreen since 2005. I am extremely frustrated with TruGreen's BAD service. I have over 19,000 sf of lawn, both on front and back. TruGreen would showed up and spread fertilizer in 3 minutes. sometimes 7 minutes. I checked them for the last five services and found out that they consistently skipped applications on my back yard, and did incomplete job on my front yard. They cut the corner in every way they could. Despite my repeated complaints with customer service rep, service manager, and the district manager, these people don't do applications, the technicians do the applications. They cannot guarantee me the job will be done correctly. I am tired of dealing with them. To catch them cheating, I have to checked the work details on the application, that include how long they were at my house, and how much fertilizer they applied. I read that one of the work details listed 11.2 fl oz was used on my 19,000+ sf yard. Clearly the work was not done. read more

Scheduled 5 service calls for me and they canceled all of them last minute. Every time I called, they had no reason for them canceling the service call. Lots of excuses but no service, probably the worse customer service ever. I was promised a free service (twice) due to all the issues I had and guess what - they never showed up either time! Paid for them to aerate and overseed. When they finally came, they only did about 2/3 of the yard (and tore up parts of it). After promising many times to come back they've never shown up. Joe, the sales guy, never returned emails about the problems. Seems once he has your money (and his commission) he just disappears. This year 2020 they have different Lawn Technicians. Each time they weren't doing the whole lawn. Then they started not showing up when they were scheduled to come. Every application in 2020 I had to ask them to come back. I had to watch them because they wouldn't treat the whole lawn. At no time did I ever hear back from the local TruGreen office about my complaints. So I canceled my agreement with them. I just feel I didn't trust the TruGreen technicians in my area anymore. I have tried to call and connect with the local office, but keep getting the national customer service line. I manage to get in touch with a Customer Service rep, who gave me his email address, so I could send pictures of the damage to my lawn from chemical burns after the service technician came to put down a treatment. It appears that either he used a bad drop spreader on a very hot day, that just dumped lumps of fertilizer which put burn spots on a lawn that is already suffering from weeds and crabgrass. The national customer service said they would send someone out to review the damage, I got notification the day are suppose to come all day, at 5:00 PM I get notification they are not coming. I call back, they said sorry, they would have some one out to visit. It turns out my neighbor is having same issue, he reports and finally customer service rep comes out to investigate both lawns, tells my neighbor they agree it's chemical burn, and they will take care of it. I look at my notification since I was at work, and got a notice the technician was at house and reviewed the area, but no mention of what they would do to fix the issue. It's been more than 48 hours and still no messages about the resolution or acknowledgement of the issue. I called again, CS Rep said they will escalate to a higher up in the Management team, and if I don't hear back in 24 hours to call again. At this point I am done with Tru Green the service has gone down hill over the years and they don't deliver what they promise. read more

We hired them to do the lawn seeding, weed care, etc. and they started off OK but when one guy came to walk me through to see how they were doing he pushed me to purchase the tree and shrub service when I mentioned that the weeping willow and apple trees needed trimming. I figured they'd at least do that part of it. They told me they sprayed the apple trees, but now they are dying so if they did they were poisoned. I paid on the spot and things went way downhill from there. I had some questions and asked to speak to the next person who came to do the service and 5 times someone was supposed to be here at certain times and either they never showed never called or came when I told them I wouldn't be here. We hired Trugreen to do our lawn. When they started, the lawn was in excellent condition. Now after their last fertilizer, the lawn is brown and looks dead. Looks over fertilized and burnt. We have called them 8 times asking for a call back and have heard nothing. I could never recommend Trugreen. read more

I had TruGreen for over three years and the service was ok, but not spectacular. I often had weeds and they had to come back multiple times to treat them. This year was the worst - grubs severely damaged my lawn this fall and I paid for the treatment so this would not happen. Of course they came back for a follow up treatment but by then it was too late. They also jacked up the treatment costs over the course of the season (each bill was a bit higher). Almost impossible to get ahold of a customer service agent and it takes 2 weeks or more for a follow treatment if there is an issue, I think they cut back on the amount of weed killer and fertilizer to the point of being ineffective. I also had crabgrass and had to buy my own post-emergent to treat (I actually had to do my own treatment for the last two years). I made the mistake of using them for aeration and they automatically tried to hit me up the next year for the same work (without checking with me first). I might cost a little bit more to do it yourself but get some Scotts from Lowes and your lawn will look much better. I have also used Milorganite fertilizer with good success and it's quite cost effective. read more

They bombard you with calls/texts/emails with new services regardless of "opt out" status. We signed up for a one time service, no contract signed, no agreement to continue service. A year later, they did not notify us we were on a recurring schedule but showed up without notice and billed us anyway! When I called about it, they told me it was my fault they showed up (what?), and then tried to convince me that their service was necessary and that we could pay 50% to "compromise". After going back and forth for nearly a half hour, they finally agreed to take the charges off my account. The person was INCREDIBLY rude and inconsiderate the entire time I spoke to him. After inspecting my yard, I noticed they only did half of what they said anyway, so I'm glad we didn't pay them. read more
