Truffle Pigs is a casual spot for lunch and dinner with both indoor and outdoor seating. We read a lot of great things about this place and were excited to visit, but we were disappointed with our meal. We went at open on weekday which was good since they do not take reservations and got pretty busy while we were dining there. We were seated right away and chose to dine outside on the patio and enjoy the view. We ordered the Porcini Arancini, Nibble, Nibble Nibble, and a Pineapple Hops Kombucha. Our food came out pretty quickly. The arancini were crispy and the pesto was good, but they were so small and the dish only came with three pieces. The Nibble, Nibble Nibble is a charcuterie board that came with a variety of items such as smoked duck, pate, sausages, cornichon, fruit dijon, toast, and a couple of cheeses. The smoked duck was probably the best thing on the board. The smoky flavor came through and the meat was tender. The fruit dijon was a great balance of tangy and sweet. The pate was very dry and lacked flavor. We wished there was more toast (there were only three). The sausages, cornichon, and cheeses were okay. The Pineapple Hops kombucha was really good. Would definitely look for it in stores. Overall, giving Truffle Pigs a 3/5. We had high hopes for this place since it has good reviews, but our meal was pricey for what we ordered and the portions are small ($18 for three small arancini). Some of the items on the Nibble, Nibble Nibble lacked flavor. We also saw a bee or wasp crawling on the board and when we brought it up to our server, she quickly dismissed it. That kind of ruined the dining experience. Not sure if I would dine here again or recommend to others.

There's a village outside of the long highway entrance to Emerald Lake called "Field". On the far West side of this tiny village is this very popular restaurant that's soo worth the visit for lunch. Reservation is highly recommended (October - May) as it's super popular spot to get lunch or dinner after Emerald Lake. During June - September, you're at the mercy of their first-come first-served policy. For appetizers we got the Pork Belly Nachos ($22) and Steamed Mussels ($24). The Pork Belly Nachos was a happy accident, we didn't mean to order this as it was a family lunch and the parents weren't fond of bar food. It worked out as the pork belly with the other typical loaded nachos ingredients made it an exception to the rule. The Steamed Mussels is a half pound of PEI mussels. The creamy sauce it is served in is delicious and of course you gotta dip the garlic bread in the sauce for the added flavor. For entree, the group split various items. The Curry Chicken Rice Bowl ($28) was alright, which was chicken curry on coconut rice. The Pappardelle ($34) pasta I enjoyed the sauce, which is a roquefort and mushroom cream sauce, with pieces of shredded tender beef. Comes wth grilled garlic bread which goes great with the sauce. The Peachy Flatbread ($29) is a great sharable for the table with the highlight being the peaches and the hot honey drizzle. I also got a cup of the Pink Latte ($5.50) because I found it to be unique. Has a hint of raspberry flavor to it. Give it a try if you're intrigued.

Beautiful views on the patio and the food is excellent. The tuna bites and porcini arancini were super flavorful and fresh, highly recommended. The burger was good but nothing special for the price. Servers were attentive and inquisitive, they probably get a lot of travelers especially for the nice mountain views. Overall would visit again

I was told that this was in town to get lunch. I think it is one of the few places in town to get lunch. The restaurant is small and after waiting 20 minutes, we were seated at the bar. To be honest, it felt cramped as I was on the one end of the bar facing a wall. The food was good, better than I would expect in a small town situated in a national park.

The best stop for food in Yoho NP! We went around 3pm, it was busy, we were sat out on the patio right away. Service was great, our server was so sweet. The view from the patio is beautiful. Everything ordered was delicious. Menu has gluten free listings on it! The phony cannelloni was wonderful! I've never had cannelloni due to being gluten free, but the sweet potato is genius. Not pictured was the daily soup and brownie sundae.

We came across this place from a Google search on our way back from Emerald Lake. The vibe is charming and quaint, and they have great food options (not too many, but it was honestly nice not to be overwhelmed by too many choices). They have great vegetarian/vegan options if needed! We were very satisfied with the service too, the wait staff is very friendly and there is a wait time but it's not bad (for a family of 4 we waited about 10 minutes for indoor seating). The restaurant is surrounded by lovely scenery with plenty of benches/tables to relax and enjoy the views after your meal.

The food is a little bit pricy but delicate, tasty, and well-served. I guess the chef might be Italian.

I came here for lunch after visiting Yoho National Park, and the food was pretty good! It's pretty small inside, so we did wait for about 15 to 20 minutes. I had the watermelon soda, and it was the best watermelon soda I've had! It was so refreshing! And the glass was pretty big. For my meal, I had the peachy flatbread. It was good, but the flatbread did get extremely soggy :( The waiter that we had was super nice!

Exceptional food -- even if there is not much near by to compare it too. We stopped in for lunch on the day we went to Emerald lake and enjoyed the beet salad and loaded nachos. It was quiet when we were there, but with a small space I imagine in fills up quickly for dinner

Butter chicken bowl was so good. This is what was left. Perfect amount for me and my wife.

Food was great, the service was on point and the ambiance was what you would hope for. The butter chicken bowl was great!

When I heard the name of this business and that it was in BC, I knew that we had to go. I have been buying Truffle Pigs chocolate, which is a BC company, since my daughter was born. The restaurant owners love the coincidence in names and stock the chocolate. There is a cute store with all kinds of goodies and sun dried a traveler might need. The restaurant itself is decorated with flying pigs, the sort of thing that my kid made in art class when she was maybe eight years old. Cute! The menu had some healthy options. The poke bowl was healthy and delicious, a perfect combination when traveling. Would definitely visit again.

My friends and I were on our way back from Emerald Lake to Banff and decided to find some food along the way since it was getting later and darker. We found Truffle Pigs Bistro 3 minutes off the road. Inside had a very warm and cozy atmosphere, felt very intimate with lower lighting. We weren't sure what to expect going in--the restaurant had a good amount of selections on their menu, but my wife decided to share a couple of appetizers. We had the "Shrimp Street Tacos" and the "Chicken'n Dumpling" appetizers. Both were very good--did not expect the shrimp tacos to be served cold! Never had it that way, unless it was a ceviche or cocktail, so it was a surprise, but it was still good. The dumplings were very good, the salads beneath both were delicious with the sauces/dressings that were drizzled on the plates. Service was great!!

Cilantro OTL may seem like a foodie's nightmare (yet a tourist's dream) upon initial assessment,…read morebut there is a lot to like about this dining destination other than the amazing views and surroundings. Typically, these sorts of restaurants skate by on mediocre (at best) food and drink at the expense of travelers given their superb surroundings and views. I applaud Cilantro because that was just not seemingly on their minds, as they wanted to provide as close to a food experience as nature provided at Emerald Lake. Let's start with the obvious... the prices are more than the typical offerings in the area. That is just the nature of the restaurant and resort "biz" - but does not grant them a pass at mediocre food. The menu was given careful thought to what they can do well in the region (and geographically) as well as what patrons might want to eat year-round here. The result is a varied (albeit limited) menu that has something for everyone. Will you rave about the overall quality upon leaving the park and location? Unlikely, but that is almost soley because as others have stated the views and surroundings would make almost ANY dining experience a 2nd rate experience. The interior is an upscale lodge feel with rustic notes and plenty of windows floor to ceiling to let in the light/sunshine illuminating off the crystal clear water and contrasting mountains and trees. The setup of the patio and inside are almost ideal for anyone that wants to take in the scenery while they eat or escape the elements while not forgetting why they ventured here in the first place. I was torn between a 3 star (okay) to 4 star (good) rating as we departed and began our journey around the lake. It's above "ok" but really struggles in getting above "good" given the price and overall dishes offered here. These places aren't without their downfalls, as many other reviewers have pointed out. Ultimately, I settled on the 4 star rating because I had little hope for a decent meal at this sort of location, regardless of the price. Once I had finished eating though, I found myself thinking that Cilantro exceeded my expectations rather than letting me down. If you absolutely must eat on site, temper your expections but expect a decent to good meal. Don't believe that you are getting a value at this sort of resort location or you will be sorely disappointed. Would I visit again? Sure - if I didn't have a better option or ability to plan around my visit to Emerald Lake I wouldn't hesitate. However, I would seek alternative plans if I wanted to have a true gourmet experience. That is to not say it is not worth the trip or experience, but it depends on what you are looking for given the location and price. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised by the experience and food offered at Cilantro. I think I had much more skepticism than the people who expected more than what they received, which is why I have reviewed in a slightly more rosey lens than some of the other Elites.

They have grab-in-go items like sandwiches, snacks, pastries, coffee and tea. I grabbed a Ham & Brie Sandwich and a Latte for lunch and found a spot near the lake to eat it. "Siding" is a railroad industry term, as in a side rail that deviates from the main railroad track. Yup the railroad tracks do go through town. This is a small mom and pop business that operates as a combination restaurant, coffee shop, and little gift shop. It sort of has a hippie vibe to it but after driving through Field that shouldn't be very surprising. It takes a special eclectic person to live in a small town of 169 people. Prices are a bit high but you can't really blame them because everything inside the National Park is expensive. I wasn't very hungry so I ordered the lesser priced deli sandwich. No complaints there. It was great. Service was great too and provided with a smile. They can tell who's a tourist and who's a local, and it was nice to see they treated everyone exactly the same. The process is simply you order at the counter and then seat yourself. There's approximately eight tables inside surrounded by some miscellaneous trickets and clothing for sale.
