WOW!! The food here was INCREDIBLE!! My husband and I were Lucky to stay at the emerald Lake lodge resort this weekend. This restaurant is in the main lodge and the food and service were FABULOUS! We had dinner here both nights and I HIGHLY recommend the mushroom risotto, salmon, buffalo, and chicken. Michelle our waitress was very kind. I would recommend anybody to dine here even if you are not staying at the lodge! But you must make reservations!

Amazing food, atmosphere and service!! HIGHLY, HIGHLY and I stress HIGHLY recommend the chicken and or the steak!! Our server Felicia was top notch; she knows the menu, knows the area, she's all around amazing! Be sure to ask for her, you won't be disappointed!

The dining room is not very large, so for parties greater than 4 people, it's hard to get a table without a reservation. For our party of 6, we didn't have a reservation since we were driving from very far away and couldn't pin down our timing, so initially we were told to go to the other side of the lodge's check-in desk for first-come-first-serve seating at the Kicking Horse Lounge for guests without reservations. After waiting 30 min and still no seats opened up at the Kicking Horse Lounge, it was getting late, past 7:30pm, and there happened to be one table of 6 that was still empty at Mount Burgess, so the server seated us even without a reservation. We ordered the foie gras & duck confit brulee appetizer (which tasted like a dessert!), grilled lamb chops, Brome Lake duck breast, Atlantic salmon, and Alberta beef tenderloin as our mains; and the molten cake and the raspberry curd tart as desserts. The beef tenderloin and lamb chops were absolutely amazing, very flavorful and tender. The Brome Lake duck breast was very interesting, complex, and delicious. The salmon was nice and tender. The raspberry curd tart was very good and not too sweet. The molten chocolate cake unfortunately was no longer "molten" (more like a solid) by the time it was served to us. We waited an extremely long time between our appetizer and mains, and between our mains and dessert. We were already tired from all-day driving to get to Emerald Lake Lodge, so waiting a long time for a table, and then waiting a long time in between courses added to our exhaustion. Overall the food was great, the ambience was great, but just be prepared to wait.

Honestly, I'd give this place a 6/5 if I could. We hiked there on a Friday and arrived around 1 PM…read morefor lunch. The wait to be seated was about 20 minutes--not bad at all--though the line for to-go orders was even longer. We ordered the herbal tea and the hojicha green tea, and both were absolutely amazing. With over 250 tea options to choose from, there's something for everyone. For food, we got the soup-and-sandwich combo, which came with a hearty vegetable lentil soup and a fresh cucumber cheese sandwich--both delicious. But the real showstopper was the apple crumble... hands down one of the best I've ever had. The chocolate cake was also really good. We did wait another 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order, so if you're in a hurry, this isn't the spot for you. I love that it's locally owned, everything is made fresh in-house, and all the servers are recent grads--such a nice touch. Pro tip: the best way to pay is in Canadian dollars (cash). They'll accept U.S. dollars, but without a conversion rate, you'll end up paying more. Card payments can be risky since the signal up there can be spotty.

Everytime I mentioned to someone we were traveling to Lake Louise they said "oh you have to do the…read moretea house hike!" I made sure to put this in our itinerary as the very first thing we did the morning after waking up at Lake Louise. And lucky for us the hike starts right outside our hotel, the Fairmont. The hike itself is a large trail (which i personally prefer when it comes to hiking) that's pretty much a straight incline up. I can't say i'm all about the straight incline up, but it sure was a good workout. It took us about 1.5 hours to make our way up with a bit of stopping for some gorgeous scenic pics (Lake Mirror was my personal favorite spot). Just when my legs had enough we reached the top where the Lake Agnes Tea House is located. I had to ask the employees how they get to work, which I'm sure they answer a million times a day. They apparently hike up every few days with everything they need for the tea house and then they stay up in little cabins for a few days. Now they must be in amazing shape! There was a line to order at the tea house, but it moved rather quickly. We had some biscuits, which were tasty along with some peach lemonade. Nothing amazing, but think it's more the experience (or vibe as I heard the 15 year old sitting next to us say) that's special. We were told to bring cash because their credit card machine doesn't always work so we did just that, but had no issues paying with a credit card. I was also happy after the long hike to see a restroom up there, which required a little more hiking....and yet another line. Many continue on after the tea house on the beehive trail, which i hear is the hardest part of the hike. My legs were tired and we had to get back for the Lake Morraine shuttle so we hiked down after our biscuits, but the way down was way easier and took us under an hour. Overall, it was a great hike and I"m sure in the future when people tell me they are visiting Lake Louise I will say "oh you have to do the tea house hike!"

Called to make a reservation the day of. Got seated within 5 min of our arrival…read more Service was friendly and this place has good vibes. Was hoping to get there early enough for their early dinner special which looks like a fantastic deal but forgot Golden is on MST so our arrival was actually an hour later than we thought. Started with the sticky ribs which were good but not fall off the bone tender. Also having it served with tortilla chips was weird bc there's nothing to dip the tortilla chips in. Got the sirloin steak with seasonal veggies, mashed potatoes and garlic sauce. There was a sweetness to the sauce which I found interesting. The steak was cooked well and tender. My friend got the cannelloni which was filled with veggies, sausage and cheese. It was served piping hot and he enjoyed his dish as well. We would return

Came across this restaurant and decided to give it a try and I'm so glad we did! Their first hour they have meal deals which were really worth it! The restaurant was really fancy looking much more than I expected. We ordered: 1. Pork Kim Chi Pot stickers: These were just okay. Kind of tasted like it was from a package and just boiled and headed up to serve and not as much hand made there. 2. The dragon plate over pasta: Holy crap this was SOOOO GOOD! The waitress was so amazing and recommended we get the dragon plate over something instead like pasta because it soaks up the sauce better and she was so right! The sauce was amazing I wish I had bread to soak it up. There was so much seafood and it was so fresh. The quality of the seafood was also amazing. 3. House daily pasta with chicken: Super good and perfectly good chicken. The sauce was also amazing with this. My wife ordered this so she ate most of it but I liked it a lot. 4. Cookies and cream cheese cake: Exactly as you'd expect it to taste. Rich cheesecake and nice crunches from the oreo. Overall, we had such a great experience here. It was easily the best thing we ate on our banff trip. The waitress was sooooo nice and gave us such excellent recommendations. We were so lucky to have randomly come across this place on Yelp and that they opened right when we got there. This is a must try restaurant.
