Iced vanilla latte with oat milk
    Dan D.

My vanilla latte was basically correct - lingering finish, not bitter - but the beans either weren't the freshest or were just not ground finely enough, because I didn't get the awesome flavor that coffee can deliver. Inside is a little dated for my taste. The booth seating has tape and tears in places like an aging diner or cafeteria would.

    Clean, modern, spacious

I found my True North Coffee experience perfectly delightful--tasty food and excellent, strong, black coffee. The dining area is spacious and clean, modern and comfortable. Above all, the staff is delightful and entertaining with their familiar banter with both regular customers and each other. There's more than one "have a nice day" offered to customers, with pleasant greetings that feel far from those corporate places with their enforced pleasantness. This is no "WELCOME TO GREAT CLIPS" vibe, not at all. I dined in and ordered a large coffee to go with the Sweet Heat sandwich. Oh boy--both were excellent--but the barista down-priced me to a medium coffee when I requested a mug instead of a to-go cup "because [we] don't really have large mugs" and you know, it's only about a dime difference but he didn't have to do that, did he?

Egg and cheese on a french toast bagel (yum!), toffee caramel iced coffee
    Anna M.

I was looking for a cafe around the area so that I can have some brunch while studying. I found this place and was so glad to have! There's a large parking lot here so you don't have to worry about finding parking, it's also free. Inside is quite spacious and there is free WiFi. The bathrooms are clean and tables had a little something when I sat down but I just used a napkin to wipe it off. I ordered an iced toffee caramel coffee which was delicious! I then ordered an egg and cheese on a French toast bagel. It was the perfect combination of not too sweet and savory!! I would definitely recommend it!

The raw bar is the best thing here. They did get rid of soy milk but offer oat which is an okay trade.

So I get a large Chip's Tip sub and a few pastries for snacks. The bill was steep for what I got but I thought it would be worth it for my son to try the sub. After getting it, we split the sub and ate it in the car. Let me tell you that this was not the same steak tip I remembered. It was so bad, we tossed it in the garbage at the gas station next door. The steak was very tough and hard to chew - almost like the tips had been cooked earlier and then reheated for my order. Everything just seemed greasy. We also did not enjoy the raspberry turnover or yellow cream cannoli's we got for dessert. Maybe it was us or maybe it was the food but I will never go there again. We are not food snobs by any stretch of the imagination, and I rarely will say anything bad about a restaurant experience but we ended up going to Augusta's which is just a little bit down the road, for chicken just to erase this experience from our mouths. I know a lot of people will swear by their steak tip subs and that is great but it's just not for me anymore.

It was a good amount of people in there when we came, but the line moved super fast. I got a strawberry bundt cake, and it was so good. It was soft and tasted so good. They are finally popping up near me so I was able to go in and see for myself how amazing they truly were. The bundt cakes themselves are everything I imagined they would be. Delicious, delicious, delicious. Which is why it really saddens me that they use cream cheese frosting. And only cream cheese frosting. Desserts are kind of my thing, and although donuts are my #1, cake is a close second (you can see the similarity, yeah?). Walking into the smallish store their bundt cakes are displayed in such a way that I want to buy everything they have to offer. Mini bundt cakes. Regular size bundt cakes. Bigger bundt cakes. Themed. Non-themed. Weird flavors. Regular flavors. All the flavors. And the staff is more than happy to answer every single question you may have to throw at them. For hours. It is a wonderful bakery of bundt cakes. Why can't they have more than one kind of frosting? I'm not asking for a frosting bar (although far be it from me to be the one to discourage that kind of thinking), but cream cheese frosting is a very specific flavor and not everybody likes it. Buttercream seems like a pretty easy, and the odds of someone liking it if they do not like cream cheese frosting are pretty good. When I asked about an alternative the staff was very nice about it, I just could not hide my surprise. I really want those bundt cakes, but unless something is done about that hideous frosting, I am going to have to take a pass. This makes me sad.

The shop has a cozy, intimate feel, and one of my favorite details was the large window into the kitchen, where you can watch the bakers preparing dough and pulling fresh pastries straight from the oven. It operates primarily as a grab-and-go bakery with only limited seating, but the steady stream of customers gives it the lively atmosphere of a neighborhood favorite. The pain au chocolat was one of the standout pastries from my visit. The laminated layers were beautifully defined, creating a crisp, flaky exterior that shattered with each bite while revealing a light, airy honeycomb interior. Inside, the dark chocolate was rich and evenly distributed, adding just the right amount of sweetness without overpowering the buttery pastry. It's an excellent example of a classic done well, with careful attention to both texture and balance. The classic croissant was equally impressive. It had a rich buttery aroma the moment I opened the bag, with a crisp, golden shell that gave way to a soft, pull-apart interior. The pastry felt light despite its richness, striking the balance that makes a truly great croissant. Every layer was distinct, and it never felt greasy or overly heavy. Since everything is baked fresh in relatively small batches, timing your visit makes a difference. Many of the most popular pastries sell out well before noon, so arriving earlier gives you the best selection. Even during the morning rush, the staff kept the line moving efficiently, making it easy to grab a box of pastries without a long wait. Nouvé Bakery is a fantastic addition to Lexington's bakery scene. The quality of the lamination, the careful execution of the classics, and the fresh-baked experience make it well worth the trip. Whether you're stopping by for a simple butter croissant or the excellent pain au chocolat, it's the kind of bakery that's easy to revisit whenever you're craving authentic French pastries made with care.

The pastries are really delicious and so beautiful. The pistachio croissant is huge and definitely good to share.
