My boyfriend and I stopped at Twist Bakery & Cafe for breakfast because we were hungry and wanted somewhere that wasn't too busy. The restaurant itself was nice, and the staff was friendly enough. Our food also came out pretty quickly, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the food was a major letdown, especially considering we spent around $60. I ordered French toast and an iced vanilla latte. The syrup had a really strange flavor, which neither of us liked, and unfortunately my French toast was raw in the middle. I still ate some because I was starving, but it definitely ruined the meal for me. My vanilla latte also tasted like bitter iced coffee with milk -- I could barely taste any vanilla. My boyfriend ordered pancakes, eggs, bacon, an apple crisp latte, and a blackberry lemonade. His bacon was burnt, his eggs were partly cold and lacked flavor, and he also didn't care for the syrup. The pancakes were very thin but otherwise okay. The apple crisp latte was decent, although he didn't care for the foam. The blackberry lemonade was easily the highlight -- we both really enjoyed it. Overall, I'd give the atmosphere/service 4/5, but the food was 2/5. For the price, we expected much better quality. Twist has the potential to be great but falters in the execution. We got the iced salted caramel lattes and an iced banana foster latte and all of them lacked a strong enough espresso flavor. For breakfast we got the breakfast tacos, the handheld and the avocado tomato balsamic with an added fried egg. All of these were pretty tasty, but unfortunately, the grilled bread on the avocado tomato balsamic was not crisp at all so kind of ruined the experience. Everything else on it was pretty delicious but soggy bread was not so great. The lemon blueberry scone was just ok. Plaza Parking Glad to have gluten-free options available although I wish there was more to them. This cafe was bustling, you order at the cash register and they bring you your dish. There are many options to choose from desserts to sandwiches. The portions were smaller and the sandwich was more on the dry side. I had to add some hot sauce on it to add more flavor and some sauce. Today I had breakfast at the Burlington location with a friend. I was very disappointed with the food and the service. We had to ask to have the table cleaned off and the wait staff still left food trash on the table. I ordered the traditional breakfast with a side of pancakes. They have the full trust of my friend who has celiac disease who has been here many times and can vouch for the fact that it is entirely gluten-free. It was creamy and flavorful and had crushed candy cane and chocolate chips on top. 10 out of 10, would recommend. I also had to bite of my friend's pancakes which were melt-in-your-mouth fluffy. I also appreciate that they automatically give real maple syrup. Pretty much everything can be dairy free upon request-and they know exactly what is in everything if you need to avoid nuts, eggs, etc. Many items are vegan as well. They have dining areas inside and outside and the location is next to Wegman's in a cute outdoor mall. This is a go-to place for people with food allergies-and those of us who just love good food! I didn't try breads although they looked very good. I am a home gluten dairy free baker all the time so I was so excited to find this place. Under new (and terrible) management sadly. This place used to be amazing but I have been here twice now, tried to order something that was fully on display and seemingly available, only to be told that it was not available. (Then...maybe move it from the display so it's not just hanging out there seemingly available for purchase?) I asked why they didn't simply take the items out of the case and was told by the manager who had just popped up that they are "too busy" to do it. (Although it also seemed to take the cashier 5 minutes to check if it was available through their not-great system, so really using time and resources well. A+ management all around). I asked what I *could* actually order,manager then spoke to me condescendingly telling me he was trying to help me and this is just how their system is, and that "everything else" on display was available, but how was I to know if this was the case since they clearly don't update anything? He also then backtracked and said "No wait, the rustic apple tarts are sold out too." In case you were wondering, yes, there were 4 of them in the display case. I really miss previous ownership - they never had issues like this and everything ran so much more smoothly. I don't like playing guessing games of what may and may not actually be on sale when it's openly displayed and no of no other business that would to this. Again this has now happened twice so this is not just a one-time bad experience - it's how they operate, confirmed by the manager telling me this is how their system "works." It was served as is on a dish. No chips, no pickle for $14!!! The filling was the worst thing I ever tasted. It was dark (yuk) tuna with stuff in it. I don't mind celery or even red onions but apples? Really?! The roll disintegrated as I was trying to eat the sandwich. The bread texture was mushy and overall it was the most disgusting thing that I ever had. I was really hungry so I ate what I could but basically choked it down so I could get out of there.
