So True Blue Pest Control is absolutely fantastic. I could not be more happy. I had a couple of pest control companies come and take a look at the pet droppings at my home. Other company said they were rat droppings. True blue was able to identify that they were bats and did a full abatement with humane service so that they could leave. Ben from True Blue Pest is the best, period! I am new to the South Lake Tahoe area and I called a long list of companies that either do not service the area or ask you to sign up a monthly plan. True Blue is the one that responded professionally and honest about the date, pricing and reliability. Once I described to Ben the ants coming from the skylight, it took him no time to understand the source and locate the nest. He sprayed the yard area, trees and the skylight within 15 mins. As promised all the ants are gone within 3 days of application, so he does not have to return for a second time (not to mention a monthly service!). He also advised multiple preventive measures including trimming dead branches, sealing skylights that certainly would help in the long-run. Better yet, he also noticed bird dug a hole in the house sidings to nest and recommended the solutions (whether through True Best or animal control in a 4-6 weeks!). Thank you Ben for your service! This review is long overdue, but I wanted to give a shout out to Ben and True Blue Pest Control. I am a part-time second homeowner in Truckee and came up one day last spring to find a carpet of carpenter ants in our bathtub. Many of them were winged, meaning that they were searching for a place for a new colony, and it was not clear where in the house they might be nesting. Was going to call a pest control company that I have used in the past that were "dynamite" but a check of the more recent Yelp reviews for them left something to be desired. The reviews for Ben and True Blue seemed all good, so I decided to give them a try. Left an e-mail for Ben and got a quick reply back, even though it was the weekend. Ben came out on Monday, spent a great deal of time explaining/teaching about carpenter ants, and then suggested a very step-wise approach that would involve the least amount of pesticides (as it was still not clear where the actual ant colony was located within the house). In short, his initial visit ended up being all that was needed as the ants have not re-appeared since his initial treatment. The price was very reasonable, especially given the very quick response time. Ben even graciously came back for a follow-up visit at no charge. Last night a bat flew across my bedroom. My wife's reaction was not one of scientific curiosity. As my wife hid under the sheets, I sent Ben an email. By 6am he had responded. We spoke on the phone this morning and he was at my house by 1pm. Ben spent a hour going through the house to assess the situation. He explained how bats, mice, insects get into houses, the damage they cause, and how to treat them. We took immediate action where appropriate and developed a longer term plan (when the snow does not limit access). Ben is a real Pro, friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. He identified where the rodents were getting in, offered to repair them and when was able to do a couple of them myself, he lowered the bid. While I can't be 100% sure that all of the squirrels are out from under and in the walls of my house, I haven't heard them in over a week so fingers crossed. He was very professional and eased my concerns about my "friend." He came to my home and looked under eaves, etc. to find out where the bat come in. Ben from True Blue Pest has been a godsend to us! We have a vacation home up near Alder Creek we come up to 4 times a year. We've noticed droppings the last two years and have cleaned it up with hopes that the ingestion was only temporary! Well it wasn't!!! We called Ben one day and he came out to our house the next day. He thoroughly inspected our house and informed my wife and I about our mice infestation. Then he put 5 traps around and under our house and within 2 days helped us catch 10 mice! Fast forward two mo this later and our trip up to Truckee this time had no evidence of mice droppings at all in our house! Ben's solutions worked and we now want him to do additional work to keep our house as pest resistant as possible. The best thing about Ben is that he will spend all the time with you explaining his methods, his solutions, and everything else you wanted to know about pest control if you want to k ow. I asked him for a monthly service for mice control but he told me honestly that he didn't think that was necessary and to do that would waste my money. He recommended bi-monthly with eventual semi-annual service so we do not waste our money.
