Lynn caused the biggest headache today trying to reschedule, then cancel, then claiming that she felt unsafe letting her cleaning people into my home. Really unfortunate case of an owner causing a tremendous amount of unnecessary grief. She communicated that her cleaning crew would arrive from 2-4 for a two hour cleaning service. The miscommunication was that i thought they would finish by 4 but when i called to clarify, she told me they would arrive by 4. Since i made plans to meet with friends in the evening, i asked if it would be fine to leave them before the job was complete and this is when she got really worked up, saying she will prioritize refunding me because i would not be home to welcome them in (which is untrue) and because she didn't feel safe... Very odd switch and dramatic change of tone. I said that my call was just to ask a clarifying question and that i could keep the appointment and be present the entire cleaning period, but she refused to discuss it any longer. The call ended with me telling her the call was completely misunderstood, unnecessarily stressful, and i would provide a bad review. I was so incredibly grateful to have true blue maids come to my house to do a deep cleaning post Eaton fire. I was far enough to still be able to access my house after a few days but close enough for ash to have come in through window seals. I was exhausted and overwhelmed and when the ladies came to my house, they set to work and work they did! I was like having some fairies who seemed to quietly know exactly what to do and they got on with it. Needed help cleaning my house while I'm laid up with this broken ankle - reached out to True Blue Maids based on their awesome reviews on Yelp - and I am SO happy with the excellent job their team did today! I sent a text to them Friday discussing what services I was looking for - a deep clean with additional oven cleaning for starters and then a weekly maintenance cleaning until my ankle is healed. In less than an hour, I had a detailed response and quote from the owner Lyn! And she had called my by the end of the day and set up my first appointment for today (Monday afternoon)!! Lyn could not have been nicer on the phone - so patient, answered all my questions- very lovely to speak to. I was given a 2 hour window for the cleaning team to arrive and they were right on time! Ryan and her two teammates were just awesome!! And wow - did they deep clean my house or what?? It would've taken me weeks to do what they did in 2 hours haha!! They scrubbed down my windows, all surfaces, bathrooms, kitchen, window treatments, major dusting and vacuuming, even the baseboards - they even vacuumed my cat tower!!! And omg the oven - wow the oven!! They got grime off I didn't even know what on there LOL!! They even washed the cover over the oven light - I'm so impressed! It looks and smells absolutely fantastic in my house! I'm so pleased and definitely feeling like I can relax now. They bring all their own supplies and equipment - I didn't have to do anything! In all of their advertising and marketing material, True Blue prides themselves on paying their employees well; including having proper insurance. We share this belief and want insured employees/businesses in case anything happens, even if we have to pay more. However, when something happened, they didn't want to fix anything or use their insurance that they so proudly include in their pricing. Any consumer, homeowner, or business owner knows that things happen (accidental or not) and that's why we pay insurance. Today, one of the employees left an apology note stating that the shower door fell off the track and the corner of the door "left a mark in the tub". They left the phone number if we had any questions. When inspecting the tub, there's a 1-inch hole (not a mark!) in the fiberglass tub and a small chrome screw cap left on the sink. When my husband called True Blue, the owner stated that a screw had come off and that the door had fallen but the employee (who happened to be the owner's daughter) caught the door. She stated that it was unsafe and that it could have been worse if it had fallen on any other employee because it would have been a Workers Comp claim. Instead of acknowledging the damage by their employee, we were blamed for having an "unsafe" shower door. She did not offer any solutions and when my husband said he was cancelling the service, she stated we wouldn't be billed for today's cleaning and said nothing else. Instead of the business taking responsibility for the damage, we're told that our door simply fell off after a screw came out. This is untrue. A screw cap was left behind, but that is only a decorative piece that covers the screws. All screws were still in place. A shower door doesn't just come off a track...it must have been bumped forcefully. This is a new shower they've been cleaning for 2 years, with no problem or safety concerns reported to us. It is really disappointing that this business wouldn't do the right thing and try and fix the problem. Instead, they blame a loyal customer of two years. This family owned business acted very strangely today. One of the 2 daughters called her mother and walked off the job when I asked if her sister had remembered where they had put something last time. Any new housecleaning service occasionally puts things away in a different place than the homeowner until they have worked with the homeowner longer, and I wasn't angry or accusing. The owner/mother told me they didn't feel "safe". She said "no one had notified me that anything was missing", and I said I wasn't accusing anyone of taking it, but just wondered where they had put it after cleaning in that room. Her daughter had said she'd ask her sister and I had felt no need to call the owner/mom. The owner/mom kept repeating that they didn't feel safe, and she wouldn't answer my question about having a different team. The item was only a bathroom scale, and we'd bought another one, figuring we could each have one where we prefer to weigh ourselves. She started saying over and over that she'd reimburse me for the scale we had had to go buy, that she wouldn't charge me for today, and that the team was "leaving the premises because they felt unsafe." When I continued trying to clarify if a different team was coming, she kept repeating that she'd reimburse us for the scale, which I had never demanded. Finally, I asked if I asked, "Are you firing us?" Then she told me that she'd tear up our credit card number, and repeated that the team didn't feel safe and "it's my responsibility as an employer to keep my employees safe." No, she wouldn't send the other team (her other daughter) because our house wasn't "safe." We have used this company to clean our house 4 times, once a month, and were very happy with their level of cleaning. However, their communication that had seemed clear at the beginning, and their behavior which had seemed professional, suddenly became very peculiar today. read more
