She is a career dancer, so it's not like other places where a fitness instructor just takes a few certification classes. Because of her experience, she is great at explaining how to move and hold your body and how to correct your form. With a maximum class size of 5 - 6, you will have as close to personal training as you can get. The space itself is also top notch. The whole gym has a luxe feel and the studio is small but airy and bright. Between the nice facilities and unique classes, they offer a lot that you won't find anywhere else.

To be…read morehonest, I'm not sure it's something they actively seek clients for, but since I live a block away and work from home it worked out well. I can tell this gym is focused on personal training and from the reviews looks like 5 stars there as well. But back to the part-time membership - worth every penny. Because they are a personal training gym, we usually always had the place to ourselves which I ended up really, really liking. When I was in fantastic shape, going to the regular gym was nothing, but when you've got some extra pounds to shed, having a nearly private space was amazing. I was concerned that because it was a personal training gym a trainer would eventually come up and try to sell me on some sessions, but that didn't happen. Unlike larger gyms I've been to! Also because they are personal training, you have just about every piece of free-weight/aerobic equipment that you could want, along with several machines - again at your disposal, no worrying about waiting for them. They also offer classes that look fun. Finally you CANNOT, I repeat cannot beat the atmosphere here. It is really cool inside, extremely clean, set-up well (2 floors), modern and the staff/owners are so friendly and pretty much mind their clients and not your presence. In conclusion, the weekday membership is not for everyone, but if you can swing it, it's worth it!

After knee replacement and chronic joint pain from a breast cancer drug it has been excellent in maintaining flexibility and combating stiffness from treatment. My husband, a physician, who recently retired and has been going with me has benefited as well. He's an avid cyclist and used to do Tai Kwon Do but over the years had lost some flexibility. He's gaining it back now with this class. Deb, the usual instructor is great about offering several alternatives for each pose since many of us are over 50. I told her I was new to yoga and she was very helpful in guiding me throughout the class. It was here that I had learned that the mat I was using wasn't suitable for yoga (it was too thick and had no grip on it). The studio is extremely welcoming - the teachers and community are so friendly and genuine. The manager Jess is always planning something new and fun, so there are special classes, workshops, or social events happening all the time which is so fun! The staff working here are very kind and friendly and were there at the beginning of class welcoming everyone. Even though I couldn't keep up with the class, I was never made to feel uncomfortable about it. The instructor was great at teaching the yoga class. Originally, Lisa worked with me to build a yoga program within my community, which is roughly one hour away from Lisa's community. From the first moment we spoke, Lisa was fully committed and determined throughout the growing pains of building a new program. After one year, Lisa and I both arrived at the realization that the program would not be self sustaining. I asked Lisa if she would be interested in doing a private class for me once a week, which she was, and the fee was minimal considering her travel time and our time together. Lisa and I practiced together for roughly three years. Throughout that time, Lisa provided amazing guidance along my journey, and her teaching style is one that strips away any intimidation, and results in a deep trust. Lisa is very personable and so intelligent. I looked forward to the many interesting conversations we had as much as the practice itself. Anyone who is left feeling that 'you' are not the center of Lisa's practice is misguided. Yes, this is her business and livelihood so there is a financial component of the arrangement.
