One eyebrow is jet black, the other has faded as it should. Not sure what the heck she used on one side

I just read these negative reviews and I appalled with how these ladies are reacting, I've had the complete opposite experience with Trudy. My sister and I found Trudy through Instagram, I booked her via email and had no issues organizing a time. I'm from Ottawa, I flew down for my appointments which was on time and very professional. Trudy explained everything step by step, I took care of my brows post-procedure as told and I've had amazing results. I just had my touch up appointment March 3rd, which was 3 months after my original appointment as I could not return sooner Toronto but prior to touch up I've been happy with my results! I know it's an investment but look at her Instagram and see her before/after and also before/after touch ups. Her microblading is amazing, I've had many compliments and I feel confident without makeup now. My sister is going next month for her and I'm excited to see her results. I found Trudy through her Instagram and was amazed by all the perfected eyebrows in the vast amount of real life before and after pictures there. Despite her hefty price, I contacted her in March 2016 and got myself appointment two months later. It took so long for her to reply back to me but when the time came to her taking my deposit that was not the case. That should have been the first red flag with her lack of communication but I still insisted to overlook that because I was so convinced from her Instagram pictures. I finally met her and got my eyebrows done. She appeared nice but nonchalant. I made sure I gave myself ample amount of time to show up ahead of time to not be late since her fine print emphasized on one's implications should one arrive late. The process was very straight forward and I was excited as heck to finally get eyebrows. My eyebrows didn't turn out completely the way that I had expected but Trudy emphasized that the results are very individualized and vary depending on the natural shape of my brows, fine, I respected that. What really upset me is how unprofessional she is and the lack of a flying care for her customers AFTER she gets your money. I emailed her on June to secure my first touch-up appointment and she gave me her "the next earliest available date is September", and I gladly confirmed. I was on maternity leave while all this was happening and I returned back to work and had a conflict with the date. I emailed her immediately to request for a change in appointment date. She finally emailed me back saying that the next earliest appointment that she had was in September which pushes pass the 6 month point for touch-up appointments and that it would cost me an additional $200 fee. I really wished that Trudy treated her customers like real life humans instead of being so fixated on her advantageous rules to squeeze whatever she can out of the clients. This really upset me that she showed no flexibility or accommodation to work together with her customers to foster the long term relationships. I told her to cancel my appointment altogether as I rather lose my eyebrows than to ever give her another dollar of my money. I followed her aftercare instructions exactly and my eyebrows faded and empty patches as can be seen in her pictures. I would highly recommend that readers to consider looking at my uploaded pictures of the harsh reality that not everyone's eyebrows would turn out beautiful as only shown on her IG account, such as in my case that can be seen in my uploaded photos. Save yourself the trouble and take your business to somebody else that would have more respect and care for their customers because Trudy doesn't care beyond money. read more

Trudy is unresponsive and impatient. Contacted her several times to get a touch up a year after getting micro blading from her but no response. Then has the audacity to post on Instagram you have to pay full price if you get micro blading done elsewhere. I mean if you responded to your customers, they wouldn't need to go elsewhere!!! read more

The GOOD AND THE BAD As much as I know Trudy probably does not care for these Yelp reviews, I still want to paint the full picture for anyone who DOES care to get a better understanding. Let's clear the air here. THE GOOD I have been receiving microblading services from Trudy for a couple of years now and I LOVE it. Being someone who is brow obsessed and had the ability to draw my own 'on-fleek' brows, I was VERY meticulous with my research before making my initial decision to go with her. Seriously, she is a professional. This is based from my experience and not just Instagram photos. The woman knows brows and she is literally an expert in what she does. If you want beautiful brows, you will be in the right hands with Trudy. The money spent is well worth it, NO QUESTION. The only note of improvement for Instagram would be to post more photos of clients many months after a procedure so that expectations are very clear. The brows do look the best (but sharper and darker) after the initial treatment. These photos are the typical AFTER pictures posted by anyone that does microblading, basically an industry standard. Once they heal, they shrink and are lighter and more natural - not that it's a bad thing, but again, just so that clients know what healed really look like longer term . THE BAD. Yes, I myself have experienced times when Trudy was not as responsive as I would expect. There was once when I had to reschedule my appointment, and it was EXTREMELY difficult. Eventually, I was finally able to get another appointment months later. The truth is, she's NOT some money hungry monster that doesn't care about her customers after they have their first treatment. I truly believe that if this has happened to you, it's because she's TOO meticulous and tries to do everything herself to stay in control (like manage all the bookings) and can become disorganized. Hey, no one is perfect. WHAT'S MY ADVICE? It's like going to a fancy restaurant that's impossible to get a reservation. Follow their rules, and stick to your reservation! No changes, no problem, lol. That was a half joke. But seriously, you have to be flexible with Trudy. The woman is booked up AF. Can you blame her? She's the best. Ladies, please do your research before spending your hard-earned money on being treated like sh!t! BELIEVE THE TERRIBLE REVIEWS ON TRUDY TRINH and beware of her selfish, shady way of doing business. I found Trudy through her Instagram a little less than three years ago and like everyone else, I was amazed at her work. Microblading hadn't blown up yet and it was hard for me to find a comparable artist in Toronto at that time. I booked with her through email, and had to wait about 4 months for my appointment. I had my free touch up about a month after my initial appointment. Her initial session was much lower than the price she's charging now and included a free touch up (as of January 2018, her current rate is $640+tax WITHOUT a touch up). Her price for annual touch ups, if I remember correctly, was about $100 when I got my brows done. She also only had about 2000 Instagram followers at the time. I was pretty happy with my brows, and I said to myself "$100 per year to maintain fuss-free brows, is so worth it". I was planning to see Trudy yearly for a touch up. I even referred several friends to her. Fast forward 8 months after (she has about 20k followers on Instagram by then), I text Trudy to try to book my yearly touch up. No reply. I email her, no reply. I think to myself, maybe she's just really busy, I'll be patient and wait. A month later, no reply. I try emailing her again after a month, no reply. MEANWHILE, she has time to post a million pictures on her Instagram and reply to people commenting on her photos, but she has no time to reply to her clients? She also seems to be constantly posting pictures of herself jetting off to her next exotic destination with the money she gets from overcharging and quite frankly, RIPPING OFF her clients that she has ABSOLUTELY no respect for! My friends that I referred to Trudy, have too experienced the same thing as me, and from reading other reviews, it seems like this is just how she does business. PLEASE BEWARE, ladies! Be prepared for her to turn you away and not even have the decency to respond to you after she's ripped you off $600+ from the initial session. read more

You can do much better. I would avoid Trudy at all costs. As noted in other reviews, it's nearly impossible to get a follow-up appointment with her. She books months out, and she often wants to change the time last minute. I waited months to get in with a price of $650. We had a follow-up appointment booked three weeks later. However, it didn't exist when I returned from vacation. Once again I waited months for the follow-up. (Beware, there was a charge for this appointment that should be included in the initial fee.) I waited months to get in, and my eyebrows are so imperfect I have to fill them in. It's been over a year. Today I went to see her, and I went to her old address. I didn't realize she had moved. My fault for not looking at the address. I texted her and told her I was on my way. It's about a 10-minute drive. We spoke at 11 am when my appt. was to begin, and I explained the situation. By then I was on my way up Yonge Street. She told me that her client at noon had arrived, and she would be putting her in the 11 am time slot. I took off time from work, and I have waited months. I told her it's my appointment, and I will be there in a few minutes. She stated that even if I showed up at 11 minutes after my appointment is booked, she wouldn't take me based on principle. After 10 minutes you forfeit your appt and $. She had no empathy and took no ownership. She agreed to refund my deposit and we parted ways. She has a sliding scale determined by when you come back. It's impossible to book an appointment in time to avoid the more costly charge. I warned Trudy that I would leave a truthful review months ago. Unfortunately, after my experience today, I am prepared to spend the $ to go to a reputable company. There is one just down the street. I will have to pay $600 again, but it beats dealing with Trudy. It has been one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. She is unprofessional and incredibly unorganized. Save your time and read reviews. The review below is sadly accurate. Trudy is talented, but I found her to be very unprofessional, especially considering the price she charges. She never replies to emails and is impossible to get in touch with which is highly aggravating. She failed to write down my touch-up appt date (she said she must have forgotten) thus was double booked when I came in (after making the commute downtown) and couldn't take me (even though she took my money transfer deposit which NOTED the appt date in the transfer message box - a rule she instituted!). I was so frustrated because I emailed her 3 times to confirm my appointment and she never replied. I also left her a voicemail. No reply. The closest she could reschedule me was in 2 months time (even though she was the one who screwed up!). My original touch-up appt (that she double booked) was THREE months from the first appointment so this would now be 5 months I had to wait for my touch up! I had strokes that didn't take from the first time and she needed to add more lines. Thus, I still had to draw in my brows for 5 months until I could get the touch-up. Too long. I get she is super busy but that is no excuse and it is completely unfair that her customers pay the price for her inability to keep up with the demands of her job. She gets paid well, and big paychecks usually means long hours. When she is done for the day she should be replying to emails/calls from her paying customers instead of ignoring them and uploading instagram pictures. It is the most infuriating thing when you see she had the time to add a bunch of IG pics but still has not replied to an email sent weeks ago. To me that implies she doesn't have respect for her customers and her prime focus is advertising herself and making money. With the amount of money she makes ($700 +hst for brow and touch up - and each appt takes about 1.5 hours....calculate that...) if she doesn't want to/have the time to invest in the admin side of her business, she should hire someone part time to take care of scheduling and to deal with email inquiries. My final brows are pretty nice (I do like the shape and I was super afraid to microblade but no regrets) but even after 2 appointments they are not perfect and are missing strokes and I still have to use powder! I think for the price you should be 100% satisfied with the brows. Of course they will fade later but from the initial appt and touch up I should get what I paid for. I could have gone to the competition and paid less and gotten equal results (check out Crista Nicole Brows, Perfecting Touch, Elysia Beauty Bar...) Trudy is decent brow artist, but is definitely overpriced for the service she provides and is seriously lacking as a businessperson. read more

I've now had 3 procedures down with Trudy and still cannot rave enough about her! -- Had my brows done less than a week ago, and so far I can only say excellent things about my procedure and experience with Trudy! She was very responsive to emails, able to answer all questions and was incredibly nice during the procedure. She was very thorough with advising about the aftercare (which is very easy) and booked my follow up on the spot (and added into her calendar at the same time). I'm always absolutely in love with my eyebrows, since the first time, and every time I get a touch up. I religiously book appointments with Trudy every six months to keep them looking amazing. That might be overkill, but having perfect eyebrows, and NEVER filling them in, is a good enough reason for me. Trudy is amazing at what she does and I've never been disappointed. My brows are seriously perfect. She's very truthful about the healing process and your skin type and how she thinks they'll heal. Everyones skin heals differently. After my first appointment the strokes had faded a bit and some disappeared, but after my touch up they were perfect. Her IG pictures depicting the shapes of different brows and the results are highly truthful and accurate. Also if you're aware of her IG then you should be well aware of her following and the demand that brings for the amount of clients she has. If you expect an email back ten minutes after you send it, then that's your problem. And if you expect an appointment within a week, then that's also your misguided judgement. She's in high demand and like any quality high demand professional, bookings need to be made far in advance. Don't leave from your appointment with Trudy and not rebook your next one. If something comes up where you need to reschedule last minute, you're going to be booking months down the road again. No matter what I'm doing in the future, I make sure I'm available for my appointment; it's a priority for me especially knowing how in demand she is. I also always make sure to text her a few days in advance to confirm and double check the appointment and her address. I've never had an issue. She's wonderful to talk to during the appointment. I normally do not post reviews but I came across this page and was shocked to read some of the comments made here. Since I feel these existing reviews do not at all fairly represent Trudy or my very positive experience with her, I feel the need to share. Trudy is one of the most talented permanent makeup artists out there. As you can see on her Instagram account, her work is impeccable. Like some of the other reviewers, I first contacted Trudy after seeing the many photos of her work on her page. I'm sure she gets tons of emails/messages/calls each day from interested clients, but I've never had any issue getting a response back from her. Yes it can take a day or two but she always gets back to me. Yes, she is in high demand and has a wait list (I think i booked my initial visit a few months in advance), but that's expected for any talented artist. If you're great then there will be a waiting list of people wanting your services... that's how it always is! But she is worth the wait! She is very professional, always says hello and greets me each time I go to the salon (I've been there 4 times now - my initial visit, a touch up a few months after, and then I go back every 9-10 months for touch ups). She is such a sweet person every time which is why I'm shocked to read some of the reviews below. She is very experienced and knowledgeable when it comes to microblading so will explain the procedure and answer any questions you may have. She will be honest with you about what type of results are realistic for you to expect as different skin types may have different results. I remember how patient she was with me during my first visit...I was so particular about what I wanted. After the skin is numbed, she draws an outline of the brows before the microblading begins. I was so picky about shape, arch, thickness, length -everything! She was so patient with me, redrawing the brows at least 7 times. I never felt rushed, not even once. She kept reassuring me that her priority was for me to get the perfect brows that I would love. She took the time to redraw, making all the adjustments I asked for, until I got the perfect shape and was happy. I absolutely love my brows! And I love going to Trudy as I trust I'm in good hands (she's talented, knowledgeable, award-winning, and the sweetest person). My first visit and all subsequent visits were all great experiences and I left each appointment very happy. I even recommended her to my sister, who also loves her brows. The following is honest and truthful feedback on my recent experience with Trudy. Please do not believe all the negative reviews. They are absolutely false, opposite than the experience I had. I had my eyebrows done in December 2017 and at the end of the appt I scheduled my follow up for March 2018. Trudy is extremely professional, kind and excellent at what she does. I have to admit that it is expensive but you get what you pay for. I would not risk going to just anybody simply because it was cheaper. She's an expert. When I looked at Trudy's Instagram pictures, I saw the consistency of all her work, every single one was amazing! The before and after pictures were great. I knew I made the right decision to email Trudy for an appointment. Trudy is very professional and explained what she was doing, it made me more comfortable and stress free. I have oily skin and Trudy explained the importance of aftercare. Trudy is so friendly, I am so glad I found her when I decided to get my eyebrows microbladed. I have visited Trudy 3 times and all 3 times, I found her to be very professional, nice to talk to, and very accommodating. My first visit was a consultation because I had my brows previously microbladed by a different artist which turned out terrible. Trudy saw how upset i was with my brows and agreed to work on me. My second visit was the day of my microblading. I got off the wrong subway stop so i couldnt arrive 10 mins before my appointment. Trudy was very understanding and told me it was ok. I enjoyed talking to her during the procedure and i loved the results of my brows. I booked my touch up appointment a few months later. Btw it is not her fault if she is fully booked and you have to wait longer for your touch up. My third visit was equally pleasant. I told her what i wanted out of my touch up appointment and she happily complied. We talked and laughed during the procedure and I got exactly what i wanted out of my brows. She thanked me for coming and said it was a joy to see me. i came from montreal for my appointment and my touch ip made my day. I would happily recommend trudy to anyone. In response to the pics of the faded brows in a previous post, if you are happy with your brows when you leave then that means trudy did her job. How they heal is up to you and your skin. There were no patches after the microblading meaning trudy DID work on that area. What else do you expext her to do while your brows heal while you go about your daily life? :/ read more

Ladies, please be cautious if you're considering going to Trudy Trinh. I was also awed by her Instagram hype, despite many other comparable microblading artists in Toronto. Unfortunately, the way she runs her business is totally unscrupulous and arrogant. I should have listened to the reviews below, and saved myself the $250 deposit. After sitting down in Trudy's cramped office above a salon, I felt an odd sense that she was very distracted and anxious. No surprise given how she packs her calendar with no consideration for her returning customers (see reviews below). She took one look at my eyebrows and said, "I can't work on you," and then turned away from me and coldly asked me to leave. I asked her why and she said she could spot acne "below the surface" and took pictures on her iPhone on zoom to show me. Frankly, there were no visible marks, further proven by the fact that my next microblading artist was fully able to accommodate. The worst part about this experience was how impersonal and rushed Trudy was in trying to escort me out of her office. I stood outside her building in shock and soon after, saw another young woman go up the stairs to her office very soon after I left. It makes me wonder if she often double books and then turns people away, while keeping their deposit money ($250). Microblading artists do have the discretion to turn away customers, but it must be for a valid reason. Please be careful with your investment and do your research, ladies. This review is for Trudy Trinh, the owner and only operator of Natural Impressions. She works out of Langton salon downtown. I received microblading from Trudy Trinh in early September 2016, and I am only writing this review now because I have been trying to pursue legal action against her, however the process would be expensive and lengthy, so I will settle for this review. Trudy Trinh was the most expensive microblading artist in Toronto. Her fee? $700 +tax. I purposely went to her because I thought that since she charges more, she is serious and I will have good results. Wrong. The $700 microblading service was to include the initial microblading session + a touch-up / corrective session after 3 months for another $50. The results after the first session were just OK, the tint was too dark and the shape did not follow my natural shape, it was a standard industry shape, which is not ideal for my face. She missed several spots, and I told her, but she said to let it settle and we'll take care of it at the touch up. OK. 2 1/2 months later I e-mail Trudy to schedule my follow up in the coming weeks. No answer. I follow up with her, no answer. I send her another e-mail, this time stating my frustration that I am not being replied to, no answer. I see then that she updates her webpage, and sends a message on instagram saying that: "as Trudy is very busy, follow ups will be scheduled only when time permits." !!!! By this time my several wisps of the microblading had fallen off, the spots she missed the first time became more prominent and I looked horrible. WORST of all, during the process she CUT my natural hairs and I think scarred my skin at the hair root so that my NATURAL eyebrows partially fell out AND were not growing. I was desperate. After e-mailing her AGAIN, this time a more aggressive email, she finally replies saying she can do me a favour and squeeze me in after December. I was both livid and scared to entrust my face to her again. I began looking into consumer protection laws and following up. Turns out this industry is VERY unregulated. I could START a inquiry but since there are no precedents I need a lawyer and it will be a lengthy process. I was unable to dedicate the time and money to this endeavour, which is unfortunate, and exactly what people like her count on to get away with this. I would never ever get close to this woman again. I have been doing laser treatments to remove the random wisps of blading remaining on my face, more $$$ added to the $750 I spent with Trudy. One more thing: She is the owner and sole operator of her microblading business YET when you check out she demands a tip. Just my two cents, but I thought this ridiculous. read more

Trudy is amazing at what she does and it is a pleasure to work with her. She is honest with her opinions and recommendations, is very professional yet personable and has exceptional skills. My sisters got me microblading with Trudy for my birthday. The experience and results were so fantastic and I trusted her so much that I have given the gift of gorgeous microbladed brows to 3 very important people in my life. Trudy does not disappoint and if it takes some time to get an appointment it's because her work is in such high demand and she does not rush. I found Trudy on instagram and followed her for six months before actually booking my appointment. She was one of the priciest micro blading artist and once you let her work on your brows, you understand why. My brows were over plucked from the 90's and although I had some hair left they looked like Lucille Ball's eyebrows! (Ok, maybe not that bad but you guys get the point!) When I first arrived I was still nervous but when I met her I was immediately comforted by her calm and friendly demeanour. She explained the process and asked me if I had any questions. She then proceeded to apply the numbing cream and lowered the lights in the room, I was so relaxed, I almost fell asleep! When she came back, she drew the outline and asked me if I liked the shape. I thought they looked a bit bigger than I wanted but she then explained to me that once they heal, they will shrink to the perfect size. I'm happy I listened to her because she was right. The process is not fun but it didn't hurt as Trudy asked if I needed more numbing cream or if I needed a break which I didn't but it was nice of her. After she was done, I was immediately happy with the result. She gave me a care sheet with instruction on after care. She also explained that they will look like they are disappearing as they heal but once the light scabbing goes away the colour will come back, and again, she was right. She suggested I rebook for my follow up before leaving as she gets quite busy and said if I waited I may not get the time I want. I have had my follow up touch up and one year later am going for a retouch. I am still very happy with the results and would definitely recommend Trudy for anyone out there unhappy with the Lucille Ball look. read more

She was nothing but professional when showing me her tools and explaining the process and was super fun to chat with - she made me feel at ease! My eyebrows fantastic - she is so skilled that she is able to make them look natural, but perfect! She does get booked in advance, but I've never had a problem with getting a response from her.
