As a redhead it took me many years until I found a technician that could make my eyebrow tint look natural, so I appreciate the salon for this. The issue I have with this company is with the bare club membership. It is marketed as 20% off of services but doesn't actually apply to everything like the Bollywood brows (henna+ brow wax) which is the main service I use here... Thats fine as a company you can make up your own rules but tell ppl about them before they commit to a $80 membership. I purchased at the salon while paying for my Bollywood brow appointment and no one mentioned that I can't actually use it for this service it was a Thursday so the 20% on my receipt was for that promo that is free and not the membership I just bought -but I only learned that when I came back on another day thinking I will get the membership price from my brows they told me it doesn't apply... once I'm done my membership I'm not going to continue with Beauty First, don't appreciate the sneaky sales tactics.

I have been to various Caryl Baker locations over the last ten years; and have come frequently in…read morethe past for eyebrow waxing, make-up application and ear piercing. I have come less frequently in the last few years since moving to the States, but nevertheless this was one of my go to places once upon a time. I am SUPER bummed that they have changed their make-up application prices. It used to be about $45 for make up application -- but you could put that towards buying their products, so you don't just "lose" that money. No brainer! I came in this past Saturday and the new pricing is $75 for a full face and you can't use that towards products. The only thing I did get with the pricing was a set of false lashes. They do have a "targeted" make-up application that is $45 but you choose the service. For example: eyes, lips, contouring, etc. Which is also an insane price in my opinion. Sephora does the same type of targeted service for FREE. Honestly, they do a great job at application and I do really like their products including some of their skin care line (particularly Scientific Organics). I also enjoyed their quick and dirty 3 minute facial prior to applying the make up, it makes it feel a little more spa like--- but the spa feel ends there. Almost every location, including this one, ends up being small and cramped, especially with how busy they can become. I am not sure why they have never invested in a more spacious location, they could certainly use it. In my experience, always book an appointment if you can. It is usually very tough to do a walk-in. However, it was easy to schedule an appointment with only 1-2 days notice. A Beauty Club membership pretty much pays for itself if you come in for services and/or buy products. Plus, they have a whole bunch of perks like free "targeted" makeup on your birthday, 50% off a facial, 10% off products, etc. Final word: The new pricing is going to make me think twice about coming back (especially for make up). Sephora still does make-up for $50 and you can put all that towards products (ANYTHING they sell in the store, so it doesn't even have to be make-up-- it can be perfume, hair, bath products, etc). Personally, I prefer Sephora but it is much more difficult to book and you have to do so much further in advance (weeks- months). Caryl Baker is still a solid choice, and it is still on my list for other services--- but I can't justify the new price for make up and would only do that if I was in a pinch.

Heidi made sure to explain the process fully and carefully created the colour that I was looking to achieve. To help her with the colour I had in mind, I brought the lip tint that I normally used. She then crafted the colour with her pigments and ensured that I was happy with the colour prior to applying it. Keeping in mind that everyone's pain tolerance level is different, I did not feel uncomfortable or in pain during the actual process (numbing cream was used before the process begun). Heidi made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire lip blushing process. Upon completion, she thoroughly explained the healing and aftercare process. Again, keeping in mind that everyone's skin will react differently, my lips were pretty swollen after. However, as advised by Heidi, the swelling subsided after 2 days and the whole healing process took about 6 days for all the scabs to come off. Thank you Heidi for doing such a wonderful job!

While browsing places to get microblading done for my mom, I came across Oh My Lash and Brow on Yelp. What stood out the most, were the before and after pictures of Heidi's previous clientele. Add in the $250 for $450 voucher and the relative close distance to my house, and I was sold. Next, it was easy calling in and making an appointment for the next day; and Heidi gave useful directions over the phone, for getting to her unit number within the plaza - she is located on the second floor; & once you get up the stairs, there are large signs above each door in the hallway letting you know of which business is which. The overall process took about 3 hours, with the majority of the time being spent on the pre-procedure tasks including: initial information session on microblading, consultation, and sketching of the eyebrows. My mother is a very picky woman so they had to be perfect before we could move on haha - I appreciate Heidi's patience. The actual procedure took anywhere from 30-60 minutes and a lot of numbing agent is applied to the area before and during the procedure to eliminate any pain sensations. Heidi also continually checked in with my mom asking her if she was ok and/or feeling any pain. Another great point to mention was Heidi's obvious knowledge and experience performing this procedure. She gave us plenty of information in the beginning regarding risks, signs of infection to look for following the procedure, and she was sure to explain the sterility of the microblading tools she would be using. [Cool to note that she even staples the freshly opened package to each client's consult form.] With my mom and I both being nurses, we were very happy to see that detail and attention were put into the health safety of the procedure, which involves needles and the breakage of skin, therefore carrying a high potential of transmission of infections. Overall, my mom and I were very happy with the results, the entire process and this wonderful microblading experience with Heidi. She gifted us with another voucher to help spread the word and I will definitely be sure to pass it to a friend. It is well worth the time and money spent! Thank you again Heidi for your professional and courteous service, we will see you again in 3 months time for the first follow-up!

I made an appointment after work, and I arrived on time. First impression, it was clean and well kept. I had to wait about 15 minutes while the hairdresser (I think Gary) was finishing up with another client. It was fine, I was not in a rush. When it was my turn, Gary greeted me and he was a ball of energy. He mentioned it was a really busy day and he made himself an espresso (offered me one too) and began washing my hair. It seemed like he was in a rush and washed quite quickly. He consulted me on how I wanted to get it cut, and I explained, and showed him a couple quick examples. I just wanted some layers. He said that will be easy and started cutting my hair. He was quite speedy, which was concerning at first, but I was chatting with him the whole time and became distracted. Gary is a great conversationalist! After the cut, he round-brushed my hair and it had some curls. It looks nice and I was satisfied. He quickly cashed me out and went off to his next client. My entire appointment lasted about 40 minutes from washing to cashing out. So why the three stars? Today I straightened my hair and I think it looks ridiculous! Left side, top layers appear to be significantly shorter than the bottom layer; whereas the right side is blended pretty well. I am not happy with this. The experience at the salon was a solid 5 stars, but the cut... 1. I might still go back to them for a quick blow-out, but I am a little skeptical about getting my hair cut. In fact... I will have to be careful about rushed appointments in general. I want to recommend this salon, but I am torn. Please make sure you talk to them carefully about how you want your hair cut, and inspect it carefully after.
