Best Nail Salon in Bloor West Village! The prices are reasonable, the customer service is excellent, and the quality of work is exceptional. My personal favorite is Mimi---she is detailed with her manicures and pedicures, and is excellent with facials....all with a sense of humor! The owner of the store is also very good accommodating any last-minute requests as well as eye-brow shaping. There are several shops much closer to me, but I choose to travel a bit further to get better value. read more

I was in Toronto for work and decided to get Lash Extensions. I've never had them before and didn't know what to expect. I called Nail Story to get pricing and info, they were able to see me right away for a consultation and service. LOVED IT!!! The salon was inviting and the staff was friendly. I had a shellac mani and regular pedi and my Mom had a regular mani pedi. The Nail Story team were great! Careful and gentle with my elderly Mom. Took the time to get three perfect coats on my nails. Yay Nail Story! Very friendly staff, clean and professional and actually talk to you (not just ignore you like some salons). Very close attention to detail (no half-was work) and good price tag. I got a shellac manicure with two fingers (both ring fingers) designed. The woman who did my nails was sweet and took pride in her work, checked that every nail was the way she liked it, I loved the particularity of it all, made me feel important. Another woman did the daisies on my ring fingers, I showed her a picture from google and hers came out exactly like it, if not even cuter. Also very close attention to detail and not rushed at all. I enjoyed the hand massage too and my nails look great. Can't comment on how long they last cause I just went today but so far so good and I would definitely return. read more

I went in today for Shellac. Called ahead and spoke with the owner who told me it was really slow so I could come on in. I live really close so it was a short walk. The lady who did my nails (I think she is the owner) was very kind and had an excellent rapport with her other customers. I could tell she had many regulars because she addressed them by their first name. I got black nails with my ring finger a different colour (sparkly gold). Overall it was a pleasant experience and I would go back but next time I won't get black. She was very careful but the black still ended up smudging a bit at the cuticle and bugs me a little bit. She did a hell of a lot better job then I could ever do with a dark colour so it's not the biggest issue for me. The shellac manicure was $30. Something to note; starting October to March they will be closed on Sundays for winter. read more

On day 5 my gel nails are turning orange. My facial was horrible. I was left in my bra and pants until I asked for a blanket during my facial. My facial was done in what looked like a staff room (coats, bags and a microwave) as they were overbooked. I walked in with a Groupon Coupon that I paid $55 for. She offered me an extra 15 lashes for the same price of $55 because I was a new client. However, on my way out while cashing out, she tried to charge me $20 for the lashes that she initially offered and $27.15 of some other random tax. I asked for clarification and she said that it was her own service fee. This made absolutely no sense. I left paying $7.50 which is the hst for the coupon. In addition, most of the lashes fell off within 3 days. The lashes were terrible and the owner is such an over-friendly money grubbing thief. I will never go there again. Most of you will probably get sucked into her kind and smiling face...I'm glad I didn't. Never again. This salon are crooks. read more

I bought a Groupon for eyelash extensions. The extensions themselves were okay--not the worst I've gotten but not the best. I'm ok with that as long as they don't fall off within a couple of days and they seem to be holding on pretty good so far. The negative review comes from the nail part of this. I had asked for UV gel three times but they used acrylic on me, and since I got rhinestones insisted we had to use shellac, for another $10. Seems to be another acrylic/UV scam place. They also tacked on another $7 to my eyelash extension service at the end. read more

I don't recommend at all. My lashes weren't full at alllll when the technician was done. I noticed so many of my own lashes that she could have applied extensions to just empty once I got home. I felt she rushed. I also got a groupon and they told me it was pointless because it's actually their regular price. Hidden gem. I've been here 3 times so far & am now a devoted client. Their attention to detail is great. I got a shellac mani that lasted for over two weeks without chipping & could have gone longer but I wanted a different colour applied. The girls here are super sweet too. I went in today, without an appointment, and was seen within 15 minutes. The tech who did my nails was named Mimi and she was incredible. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and with only one quick look she replicated the design perfectly. Mimi was incredibly nice, talented, friendly, and really quick -though I was in no rush at all but this may be important for people who might need to get in and out. The rest of the staff seemed to have a great rapport with customers and while I was there at least 3 regulars came in so they obviously have a loyal client base. I don't get my nails done often and have no regular salon but prices are reasonable and seem on par with most other places. $30 acrylic set $35 UV Gel set. read more

This place should be called horror story. Scammers. The receptionist was extremely rude. I called in to make an appointment she said come in right away I said I would be there at 11:30 when I called at 11:10 to say I was running late and would be there at 11:45 she said that was fine and she would see me soon. When I walked in I wasn't even greeted. I approached the desk and she gave me some weird look and she said you are over half an hour late. I pointed out that I had called her to say I would be there at 11:45 and it was now 11:55 she then said should have to charge me a late fee of $15 and I was like no I'm not paying that. and she just waved almost to shoo me out of the salon and said to just leave. After I left I thought that maybe on the Groupon website they would say something about a late fee being applied but that was not there's only a 24 hour cancellation fee. I was still keeping my appointment I do not see why there would be any fee charged to me. These people are greedy and I would not trust them with my eyelashes avoid this place at all costs. read more

PLEASE DO NOT GET FACIALS HERE. IT'S A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. Diane was working on other pedi/mani appointments during the session and hygiene was questionable - she was sniffling the whole time. I wanted to leave. Though it says 1.5 hrs on the website, the whole session was just under 1hr even with the mask. When I pointed out that this discrepancy might mislead new clients, she became defensive and made it sound as though I didn't know how facials worked and that I was the one being rude and petty, claiming she did all the steps. Here's the catch: I heard her tell the manicurist not to take walk-ins till 6pm in Korean (which would have been the 1hr mark for my facial session, so she was intending the session to be around 1hr in the first place). She grudgingly admitted that she wasn't keeping exact track of time but I don't think she realized that I speak Korean and heard what she had said before. She was talking about me to the manicurist like I was a task that needed to be squeezed in between her regular clients. I tried to ignore this and just wanted to let all bad feelings slide because I went in to treat myself and leave with a positive experience. I was just looking for a light-hearted apology for the misunderstanding, not compensation or extra service - but I guess that's what she thought I wanted because she rudely insisted we go to the back so she can give more service. She says she will take my feedback (which she claims no one brought up in her 8 years) into consideration next time but sadly there will not be a next time. There are similar negative reviews about the facials here on Groupon too (buried among good nail/lash reviews). I'm just very disappointed because I had high hopes for good quality service based on other positive reviews. This was a terrible experience and I will not be returning even for other services. I came in last week for a pedicure and a full set of bio gel nails. I paid over a hundred dollars and tipped very generously just to have ALL my nails fall off less than a week later. Way over priced for such poor quality. Very disappointed. As a frequent salon goer (I always get bio gel so I know it's pricey) I expect the professionalism and quality to be there, that's what I'm paying for. This hasn't ever happened before (they last upwards of 3-4 sometimes 5 weeks!). I came here because unfortunately my favourite/regular salon closed down a month ago and the reviews made it seem like it was a decent place. If I wanted nails that last a week I would have went to shoppers drug mart and bought a pack for 10 dollars. I would not recommend. read more

I've been steady going since Jan 2015. Amazing staff! Friendly, inviting, and funny! For some reason my last set of nails(fake-gel) were lifting only after 1 week. I came in and told them and owner took it all off and re did it for free. And she really took her time, she did not rush me just because it was for free- which I've been rushed at other places and I'm paying! Very poor customer service. I made an online appointment for lash extensions. I never received a confirmation. Thought maybe it was closed for the holiday. Called the following day and struggled to make an appointment for the following day. Not only did I have a confirmation over the phone, the technician sent me a text apologizing for not responding to my online booking, and to confirm my July 5, 5pm appointment. Upon arrival at the salon I was told Diane had just started a treatment. I stated I had a 5pm appointment. Another employee went to get Diane. She had no apologies to offer, just asked me to wait 30 or so min until she was done with the customer she had. I said no I have a 5pm appointment. If it won't be honoured, I am leaving. I have been looking for a new salon for regular treatments, since moving back to the area. I guess my search continues. read more
