LONG REVIEW ALERTT!!! NEVER GO THERE FOR FULL BODY WAX!…read more As the owner of an IT company with 10 years of experience in the customer-facing industry, I have never encountered such awful people and service. It's shocking that a business can operate with such a lack of empathy and professionalism. I recently had the misfortune of visiting Prayosha Downtown beauty salon for a full body wax/Brazilian wax service. I arrived an hour late, apologized, and offered to wait or reschedule, but the front desk girl, Jasmine, suggested we proceed. The service was a disaster from the start. The initial technician, Roopi, was rough and careless, causing me to bleed from a burn bruise on my right hand's finger within the first 5 minutes. When I politely asked her to be more considerate, she was defensive and unapologetic. I was shocked by her attitude and lack of empathy. After that, Roopi disappeared and never came back to explain herself or apologize for her actions. Fortunately, Arushi took over and completed the service in another 2 hours. YES, 2 Hours!! Because the drama continued as Jasmine took turns trying to justify her ever changing statements and constant door knocks interrupting Arushi to leave my service and attend other customers. Arushi did whisper to me that I shouldn't tell others that she had finished the entire body waxing may be she knew that the other staff members were trying to take advantage of me. At two instances, I was offered a partial service by Jasmine but she would constantly change her statements. I think, she needs medical help with this foggy brain. It was clear that they were not interested in providing me with the full service I had asked for. They were asking me to pay the full price but they wouldn't do the front and the back as apparently, they didn't have the time bandwidth. I offered them that I could potentially wait or comeback in an hour or two but they didn't want that either. As I later found out, the girls were scared to provide me with the service because of my dry skin. While I understand that may be a concern, it was not the only issue. The real problem was that I was being body shamed and discriminated against because of my weight. I was made to feel like I didn't deserve the service because of my size. I was appalled when I asked Jasmine if the girls were hesitant to work on me because of my weight? And she said, YES! And kept blabbering further!!! Which honestly, I didn't listen! Throughout the ordeal, I was body shamed and humiliated, and I felt like I was being treated like dirt, a burden, not a customer. The staff's lack of empathy, professionalism, and manners were appalling. As an Indian woman myself, I was particularly disappointed to see such behavior from people who claim to represent our community. It's a shame that they are perpetuating the same stereotypes and biases that we try to overcome. Am I not allowed to have beauty services just because I'm obese? I'm paying the full price, just like anyone else. It's not like I'm asking for a special treatment? It was Roopi who suggested a special treatment while rolling her eyes in disgust and I quote, " I can't do the service alone if you expect me to considerate of your body (she meant flabby excess fat), I would need another girl to help out." To make matters worse, I started bleeding from a wound that I had, which the careless technician, Roopi had ignored and ripped off. It was a painful and traumatic experience. Eventually, I spoke to the owner, Kumud, who was 300 Kms away, she heard me but had a different story to share. Maybe her employees lied to her to cover for themselves. At least she was understanding and spoke in a professional way. In the end, I still ended up paying the full price of $89 for the service, despite the horrific experience and crying at the salon premises!! I want to warn others: beware of Prayosha Downtown beauty salon. The staff's behavior is unacceptable and is a reflection of the worst of Indian society from RURAL INDIA. Their body shaming and discrimination towards customers is a shame!!! It's a shame that they are bringing Indian community down with their ignorance and lack of empathy.

Hi guys! I've decided to be a bit of a #beautyblogger. I've been having such a hard time finding a…read moregood nail salon and artist to do my Biogel manicure. I was looking for reviews online on google and here, and there is hardly anything available. So, I've decided to share my experiences here. Hopefully, they will be useful for someone. On Tuesday, I tried @ananekebeautysalon. I went there to get my Biogel manicure refill. They are in Yonge and Eglinton area. This place was recommended to me, and it had such good reviews on Yelp, and BlogTo. Plus, with a personal recommendation, I thought it was going to be my go-to nail salon. Maybe it's just my luck but this is not going to happen. I do not remember the name of my nail artist. Here is a list of things I didn't like. 1) She took forever to do my refill, literally over 1.5 hours. I don't do anything complicated on my hands. Usually, it's just a French manicure which I was getting this time. She kept messing up the white lines on top of the nails and redoing them. And then again. And again. And again. ‍ While I did appreciate the effort to get it right, this is the first time somebody had to redo several times half of my nails. By the end of it, I wasn't sure that the lady knew what she was doing. 2) The lady didn't file the edges of my nails properly. I didn't notice it in the salon, but I noticed it later that day when I was already on my way home. 3) She was doing such a bad job filing my nails and cut so much skin next to the nail bed on one of my fingers that it hurt for a few days. 4) On Friday, four days later, the white gel polish started chipping on several of my nails. This is ridiculous. This is biogel. It last forever and can survive alien invasion, nuclear war, and zombie apocalypse. This is the reason why I do it: biogel is the only thing that doesn't chip on my hands for three weeks. I don't know how this lady did it that it started chipping so early. Not a happy customer here. Sadly, after this experience I can not recommend this place to anybody. Please avoid it. ‍

This was my first time having extensions and I loved them! Her name is Michelle and she's really…read moreeasy going and you won't feel a boring vibe from her. She specializes in tape, fusions, and custom clip-in extensions. I got tape extensions at a summer price deal for $315 for 20' but since her supplier didn't have 20' she got 24' and gave me the choice to cut it down to 20' but I just kept the 24' inch. She did not charge me for having 24' inch extensions because it wasn't my fault. As for the colour, it was right on! My hair colour was #14 and #22. Blending these two colours made the extensions look natural. The only thing is, if you have really short hair and you're getting really long extensions, you MUST get a haircut to blend your extensions with your hair to look more natural. Either Michelle can give you a haircut or you can go to your own hairstylist. Michelle gives you the option to have your extensions curled or straightened when you're done with no charge. My hair was left straightened and it looked absolutely amazing. She also told me background information about who has the right type of hair for either tape or fusion extensions. For instance, if you have really weak brittle hair, she will not do fusions even if you requested to because she knows it will damage your hair so she recommends an alternative either tape or clip-ins. Because I have coarse hair and my roots are healthy, Michelle said I can try fusion extensions if I wanted to since my hair can handle the process. Also, you wanna make sure that the place you are going to get extensions has really good quality extensions. I've had my extensions for exactly 3 weeks and my extensions are still soft and manageable. She also gives you a sheet with how to properly care for your extensions to make them last longer. This isn't a salon, it's her home but it certainly does feel like a salon, just with less noise from people. When booking an appointment with her, she is really flexible. What I like is that she's open later than most places which is a plus if you have a really busy schedule. Thank you Michelle!

Her location is great, easily accessed with TTC. Her salon is comfortable and extremely clean. Since extensions are a long process, it was so nice to be comfortable and relaxed.
