We looked it over and loved it. We bought it and went on our way. Got back to Maine and it popped a code and the check engine light. We checked the code and it was the cat, no big deal as our county doesn't check emissions. Unfortunately they didn't sticker us, and as we weren't going to have the title before our trip we couldn't register and I had to drive back down and have them sticker it. They finally got the light off by putting 02 spacers, but told the inspector who then refused to sticker it. I leave and by the time I get to Maine again the check engine light is back on. Same code, so it is irritating but not a huge deal. One thing I had noticed driving the jeep was a gasoline smell, but assumed it was due to a known jeep overflow issue. Took our trip, got back, registered it, and took it in for an inspection. IT FAILED HORRIBLY. It failed due to the following plus a few others: - Fuel leak from the tank, only evident when the tank is full and the actual reason for the smell. - All of the axle seals are faulty. - Leaking differential fluid. - Leaking coolant. - Broken water pump. In short, we are now going to have to pay thousands of dollars on top of the 17k we already paid for the vehicle. Unfortunately as it was sold 'as is' we are stuck with it.

They have lots of slick responses and excuses from the dealer replies and I would all but wager MANY of the 5 stars are from non-customers stuffing the ratings because those never mention make and model or specifics, just the snake oil guys by name as so great to work with. Google ratings are 1's and 5's and nothing in between, so at least you have a 50/50 shot at a car that isn't a Lemon. Think about that, better shot at Black or Red at a local casino for $5000 and winning huge than getting a car that runs issue-free from this place. Who buys a car in NH that isnt inspectable, it should be illegal to sell these types of cars without a sticker for safety!! Do we get 20 day plate? - you can just register it yourself Where is the inspection sticker? - It "should" pass inspection easily but we don't issue one unless you ask us and it could delay the paperwork. WE ARE HAPPY TO TAKE YOUR $4500 RIGHT NOW, THOUGH, (IN CASH). The reason it wasnt $6000 compared to comparable year and mileage is because it needs the difference in repairs just to drive it home legally!! Traveled 90 minutes plus and they could only finish half of it so going back for a 4th trip to their site. Told them this was going with me to Tennessee and they promised it would make it. Prior to one of his visits I had work done to one of my cars and he had no clue after a 25 minute inspection of where the work had been completed. When I have brought my car in for a lease turn in Dave Matthews (son of original owner) always does a quick touch-up as BMW will kill you for the slightest paint chip. The story here goes that a long time ago Matthew's Senior owned a body shop and his son, Dave slowly took over the the point that he is the primary point person on all estimates and repairs. Don't be confused, Dave has one employee and his name is also Dave. They are very good with quotes and have done a great job of fighting with insurance companies to get supplements for unseen damage before tearing off a fender, etc. He also has a state of the art paint booth and as mentioned above, he is amazing at matching highly complicated metallic paint colors and applying an even finish.
