Mike was hesitant at first because he didn't feel he had much experience taking pictures of people. Lucky for us he accepted the challenge and to say the least, the photos came out perfect. We live in a beautiful area and Mike took his time planning different locations to have fun with the shots; from jumping off boulders to up in the mountains to near flowing streams. He knew just where they should go to get the perfect photo. Then the time came to choose a wedding photographer and my son, daughter-in-law-to-be, and I knew we wanted Mike to capture the special day. Again this would be his first wedding shoot but after having so much fun with the engagement photos he was excited to do the job. The wedding was out of town and Mike made sure to be at the location the evening before with us so he could scope out the venue, including the lighting at the time the wedding was to take place, the grounds and landscaping, and inside the building that would host the reception. Thanks to all detail he paid attention to, the special day was captured beautifully. I can't express enough how professional Mike is to work with and how perfect the photos he takes come out. They do not provide trailer parking, but there's a park across the street with RV parking. The hotel is gorgeous with a rustic, elevated, cabin feel. Has a small creek in the middle of it with relaxing chairs and fire pits. The Jacuzzi was also very lovely, we spent a very lovely afternoon /evening there. We also had a pet friendly room that accommodated our 2 small dogs. They have areas for the dogs to go potty, which is awesome. They also have an outstanding lobby bar / lounging are that was very relaxing. Diego the bartender was outstanding on both separate times we stayed there. The food is delicious. I highly recommend the Caesar salad with grilled chicken, the mushroom pizza and the barbecue chicken pizza. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, and there was hard water on the bathroom, shower glass, but it happens. Some people prefer soft beds. Some people prefer firmer beds. I understand that. Yes, it's on the more expensive side, but it's a gorgeous hotel and people shouldn't complain. If it's too much then don't book it ! The cancellation policies & prices are upfront so I don't understand why people complain about that.

Before booking, travelers should understand that Wayfinder appears to enforce its cancellation policy even when a major wildfire prevents the original trip from taking place. The hotel offered to convert my one night reservation into a credit, but only if I selected and confirmed new travel dates within 48 hours. In my view, that is not a reasonable accommodation. When travel is unexpectedly disrupted by a natural disaster, it can take weeks or months to determine when a replacement trip will be possible. A more customer-friendly approach would be to issue a credit valid for 6-12 months and allow guests to book new dates when their plans are finalized. We also discussed moving the reservation forward by one night to accommodate our revised itinerary. While I understand that weekend rates are higher, the additional cost would have been several hundred dollars, making that option impractical. As a result, I lost the cost of one night's stay and will not be booking with Wayfinder in the future. This was my first experience with the company, and unfortunately it left me with the impression that there is little flexibility for guests facing extraordinary circumstances beyond their control. Management already has my contact information. I hope you'll reconsider and issue a credit that can be used within the next year, rather than requiring a new reservation to be booked within 48 hours.

The bathroom in room #8 was super small and had a tiny sink. Had a kitchen which was nice with a full size fridge. Comfy mattress. Decent wifi speed when I did a speedtest but decided to stick with my TMobile cellular data and had good signal. Basic Cable TV but not HD so picture was fuzzy. Parking is right outside your unit. Have to back out of your space but wasn't too bad. It was 100 degrees in town but once I set the AC to 68 degrees, I was able to get cool in the room. Adriana at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is two short blocks from Hwy 395 so very quiet. Walking distance to several restaurants. Overall, it was fine for a solo fishing trip.

Turns out, when I called (ready to panic), my daughter and her friend were standing right there (they had no cell service), and the employee who answered handed the phone right over to them. For whatever reason, hiring a photographer is usually delegated to the groom. Such was the case for my wedding and I was determined to not mess it up. Since we are getting married at Convict Lake, I wanted a photographer to capture the natural beauty of a place. Minaret does so, but they were expensive and booked for the weekend of our wedding. Several hours of navigating the murky waters of the internet later, and I was brought to Bruce's page. His photographs were just what we wanted and he seemed like a pretty cool guy so I emailed him asking for his availability. A couple hours later, he confirmed that he was available. We talked about our backgrounds, added each other on social media and became well acquainted. But then Bruce did something that truly warmed my heart. He realized that since I am fresh out of grad school, I am in mucho debt. He saw that while we still wanted to have a beautiful wedding, we also have to cut corners because of our budget.He saw all this and offered a discount up-front. No negotiation. No hassle. Just pure good-ness. It was a breath of fresh air in our increasingly capitalistic society and revitalized our wedding planning. From then on it was just one great thing after another. Free engagement shoot. Included Photobooth. Funny emails. Dogtogropher. etc. We just had our engagement shoot with him and he edited 200+ photos in 2 days. 2 DAYS! I have had photographers take 20 days for 20 photos. Insane. During the shoot, he was so funny, friendly, and kept us all at ease. He made my ugly mug look like Joseph Gordon-Levitt. It was less than 10 degrees and in the middle of a blizzard during the shoot, yet he still burrowed in the snow like a photographic snow-lizard to get the best shot of us. He even brought along his beautiful ice-princess of a daughter to keep us laughing during the shoot. I am excited to see what he has in store for our wedding day.
