GTE was recommended to us by a family friend who had used their services for their wedding in Yosemite. My parents had attended this wedding and had the best compliments for them, so even though my wedding was in Santa Cruz, we wanted to use them as well! They were willing to travel for a fee and had a few tiers of DJ services for different prices, which were reasonable. We had DJ David and all of our phone calls and communication up until the wedding went super well! We gave him ideas of songs we wanted and how we wanted the dancing to go. Our wedding was an absolute party and everyone was on the dance floor the entire time! David was also a great MC, he was excited, clear, and organized throughout the night with the sequence of events. He worked really well with my coordinator as well. The up-lighting we added on was set up well and added something special to our reception space. The only issue we had was kind of a big one. He played the wrong song when I walked down the aisle with my father. We had double checked this multiple times with David prior to the wedding since there are so many versions of the song. It was super important that a specific version was played, and it was the biggest distraction during our first glimpse of each other when my dad walked me down. When we told him over the phone and sent him the exact song, he was sure he had heard of it and knew what version and reassured us many times. Update from my previous post: Ryan (DJ Smooth) rocked our wedding. He kept us on schedule and dodged every obstacle that came his way. He kept the party going and was sooo easy going. He really made our wedding spectacular. The bilingual aspect was a little hard, if you're looking for someone bilingual youd probably want to go with one of their other talented team members but Ryan definitely rolled with it. He's such a good personality. He hyped everyone up and kept the party going all night. Thumbs up all the way for DJ Smooth. Photobooth was also a hit. Everyone had such a fun time and even though the photographer left at 9pm. The photobooth continued to capture priceless memories until 11pm. First off, if you're wondering whether or not you REALLY NEED to invest in the DJ/Emcee for your event... YOU DO! They set the tone for the entire event, bring the energy, guide the agenda and so much more! That said, GTE is hands down the best event group in the Central Valley! We had Andrew at our event, but also worked closely with Isaac on planning the timeline and discussing the details. They stuck with us through all of the challenges presented by COVID, made adjustments as needed, and were super supportive and awesome to work with. Our event was unique in that it was a casual, picnic vibe with lawn games, food trucks, and more. I really don't know where to start with GTE it's crazy to finally be able to write this review. We met with GTE back in 2019. They were the first and only DJ company we met. But soon as I met with Issac I knew I didn't need to meet with anyone else. Issac was and is such an incredible person and truly cares about his clients. We originally had our wedding booked in 2020 at a venue but unfortunately with Covid we had to reschedule for a date in 2021. During the entire process GTE was super understanding and always reassured us that they would keep in contact through it all! Issac always made me know that our wedding will be party of the year. On our wedding day I can't say enough words about DJ Smooth & DJ Dez (Oscar). They rocked the entire night. It felt like a movie was everyone was dancing everyone was into the music. I elected not to use GTE Event Group after my initial interactions with them at the Fresno bridal event in January, and I could not be more pleased with my decision after my experience for the last 6 months. At the bridal show, I was turned off by the pushiness of the representatives at the booth, and I was concerned about how personal their services could be for the large number of events they brag about doing each year (reading reviews later validated my concerns). Their vibe and approach did not mesh well with what I wanted for my wedding at all, but I wanted to get quotes from all companies to make an educated decision, so I gave my info to them. BIG mistake. I then began receiving phone calls asking me to drive to their Fresno office to collect the bottle of wine that I "won" (I have several friends who also "won" the same bottle, hence the quotation marks). I understand the sales tactic, but I live so far from Fresno that I would have spent more money on gas than the wine was worth. And no, I did not return any of the calls because I just didn't have time and I did not want to deal with declining the sales pitches. They finally stopped calling about the wine, but I have continued to get calls, emails, and texts from them for the last six months to get me to come "discuss my wedding plans with them", which, although they were polite, is a bit ridiculous considering every other vendor from the same event had discontinued their sales attempts within two months of the show. Six months is a pretty slow learning curve to figure out someone isn't interested. It's called harassment in other circles. I received yet another text from "Andrew Atkinson" today while at work, and I just happened to have a spare moment to shoot a "please leave me alone" text, pointing out that I had been ignoring sales calls/texts/emails for long enough that someone should have taken a hint by now. the response? "No, you're wrong. Communicating that you don't want are services are a sign." First of all, maybe have someone that has professional-level communication skills to man your texting lines. Also, I was only mildly annoyed since everyone I had heard from up to that point was at least polite, so you had an opportunity to smooth things over. Instead, you not only made sure that I never consider your company in the future, but that I make sure no one I know ever uses your company either. Customers are not obligated to give or tell you anything if your only contact with them was at a show where they are meeting with multiple vendors, and being rude and snarky is completely unacceptable and inappropriate. read more

Yelp apparently took down my wife's review, so we'll try this again: Alex was the DJ for our wedding in late June. He absolutely killed it. Alex is the pinnacle of professionalism and skill. I started out working with him and he was incredibly organized. He had the process well thought out and anticipated all the things we had not thought about. Work got really busy for me, so my wife took over working with Alex. Unsurprisingly, she was nervous about every wedding detail, but was instantly put at ease about the music and flow of the night after meeting with Alex. The day of the wedding, Alex was on point. His music selection was great and kept the group going. But Alex also went above and beyond. We initially planned an outdoor wedding, but it was sinfully hot in Fresno that day, so we moved the reception indoors. But our venue did not have adequate A/C to accommodate even our small wedding (roughly 65 people). So Alex watched for things to cool down outside, then suggested that we move the party out onto the lawn. It took maybe 5-10 minutes, tops, for him to move his system onto the back patio. After that the party took off. People were so much more comfortable dancing outside, with a slight breeze to cool us down. The highlight was when, at our request, Alex coordinated a legit dance off. We brought up the idea on the spot, Alex asked us for a few minutes to compile a list, and then he choreographed a perfect selection of songs, well-timed, and with smooth transitions. I would recommend Alex for any and every event you might have where you need a DJ. Our friends already asked us to renew our vows next year just so we can have Alex put on another dance party. Had them for my wedding in 2016, Alex was the main guy we had all our meetings with he is great as his job and convincing you of all the things there business has to offer, I had hoped to get him as my dj but instead we had gotten Geo and a girl I believe the night of my wedding I heard he was training the girl but he seemed very nervous and kept forgetting what I was telling him, a couple of examples were I let him no we were not doing a garter toss because my husband didn't feel comfortable doing it and what do you know he announced us doing a garter toss so everyone was waiting for it and it upset my husband because he thought I was forcing him to do it and went behind his back, another was when he asked me if I wanted to play some cumbias I let him know just a couple more because majority of my guest lol we're white and wasn't what they listened to but instead he played cumbias the whole night! I wrote on my paper to Alex that I had planned a surprise song for my parents to dance for and he never played it A huge upset was when he called me up for the father daughter dance and never gave me a heads up, so I was at least ready... but my dad was handling some business with the mariachis, mind you that the song I chose was only like a 2:30 song and he had started playing it while I was all the way on the other side of the venue at my sweetheart table while the song is playing I'm looking for my dad trying to find him as the crowd is watching me look for him, then I find my dad and everyone is watching him pay money to the mariachis and the mariachis were late to there next show so it had to be taken care of bottom line it was embarrassing, and the moment was ruined, he messed up big time and nothing about my dj was great, he handled that situation poorly and should have given me or my maid of honor a heads up so we were ready, unfortunately my friend is having this business for her wedding this year in June 2018 I hope it goes way better than mine read more

We used Good Times for their uplighting and dj service at my cousin's wedding. We had found of picture of a wedding they had done at the same venue and room. I sent the picture to them inquiring on price. The price paid was over $1900. However, the room did not look at all like the picture and we really noticed this when we received the professional pictures back. The dj service was not bad, and we were pretty pleased with their overall service. They could have done a little better job with organizing the flow of the wedding. However, it worked well overall. The only problem the dj really seemed to have was getting people to dance after the money dance. Hey now, I am not being critical it takes a lot to keep people dancing all the time. Am I right? It looked pretty ok/average. My family paid the extra money thinking it would not be typical. The DJ would have done the uplighting with initials for extra. In retrospect after seeing the professional pictures, our family feels we paid too much. read more

We actually used Good Times Entertainment for their DJ and their Videography services and both greatly exceeded my husband and my expectations! As a young bride with ZERO wedding planning experience and my groom in Maryland, planning all the little details felt overwhelming. Alex met with me first and had me sold because they have a planning system that allows you to create your wedding day timeline step by step in addition to a song creator so you can pick and choose all the songs that you want (or don't want) played at your wedding! I even met up with Isaac for the videography and he spent two extra hours that evening setting up the flow of our day. When I thought I wanted events to go in a certain order, he would actually explain to me why it did not work as well as another alternative, and pretty much 100% of the time I went with his suggestion! All of the DJ's are EXPERTS. Isaac actually travels to DJ conferences to better his skills, then he brings it back and passes it forward to his fellow DJ's. When I found out that Sheri was the DJ for our wedding, I was not entirely sure what to think since I had seen Alex at another wedding and was kind of set on having him. The day of, however, she definitely did not disappoint! She's super fun and peppy and kept the energy high throughout the entire wedding! She interacted with my husband and me all night and engaged all of our guests! She is such a firecracker and I would definitely recommend her for any event! Nathan was the videographer for the wedding and did a phenomenal job despite having a broken foot! He and his team were prompt, professional, and engaged with all of us to capture all of the true emotions through the day. I could not have been more impressed! Good Times Entertainment is as good as it gets for DJ and event entertainment! My wife and I hired them for our wedding at Cardella Winery in Sept of 2014 and they did a perfect job! With our wedding more ONE HOUR outside of town, we had our concerns about hiring any DJ, but Good Times was there on time and ready. Their work during our ceremony with music and mics, cocktail hour, reception MC, and the dancing went off without a hitch! They are true professionals. It all started with a consultation with one of their professional DJ's. They went over our music options and asked us what we liked or what songs we really wanted to hear. We honestly did not know what we wanted (just no country), but they guided us in the right directions and played us samples. They also sent us home with a list of wedding events (i.e. first dance, walking down the aisle, entrance, etc) for us to think about what songs we would like played during these times. This was VERY HELPFUL. In collaboration with their DJ, we created a custom playlist for the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and dancing. On the big day, Good Times performed flawlessly and did everything they said they would do (and that we paid for) including custom lighting and extending the DJ time so we could party a bit longer. The DJ was very good at getting our "old folks" out on the dance floor with music everyone liked (including some oldies) and also catered to our Hispanic portion of the family with Salsa y Merengue and a few slow jams. They also cranked up the beats for us "younger folks" and kept the people out on the dance floor and the energy high. When looking for a DJ, don't skimp. We hired Goodtimes as the entertainment for my daughters Sweet 16. We considered a well known local radio DJ initially in order to embrace the ambiance of the teenage event. I'd like to start by saying everyone had a wonderful time at our reception. It was truly a night to remember. I do, however, feel the meeting we initially had with Isaac turned out to be a lot of gimmicks, and the services we received were over priced. We were made to feel like our DJ and the team would work closely with us, but 3 days before our reception they still didn't know who would be our DJ for the night. 2 nights prior, I received a call at 9pm from the DJ we were assigned. I made sure to reiterate (I told Isaac and Alex several times) that we did not want to do the garter removal; having my new husband's head up my dress in front of my family just wasn't appealing to me. We reminded our DJ the night of also that we'd just be tossing the garter around a football. And what happened when it was time? The DJ brought out a chair for the garter removal. I was very disappointed at that. Another disappointing moment was regarding the photo projector. We were convinced last minute to add this with a discounted price-literally the day before the event. We spent some time getting photos together and scanned to USB drive the night before our reception, which anytime before a big event is always busy. This ended up being a waste of time, as there were some technical difficulties and the projector ended up not even working. The music during the night was good, but the DJ himself was not as engaging as Isaac sold his team to be. My family members' names were mixed up when announced also. It just felt like we could've gotten the same quality for half the price elsewhere. We were glad we got the photobooth, though, I hadn't seen one that style before and it was pretty cool. My friend's wedding was this past Month and Good Times was their DJ. On the wedding day, he played an okay mix of current dance songs, oldies, and every type of music to try to keep the party going. He also took requests and played them immediately and even played the ones that were not so great. He got on the mic and said some cheesy nonsense. Kind of crazy experience for me! He's very expensive. The most expensive in Fresno by far! If you want a party with the Macarena, Birdy Dance, and songs like that which clear the dance floor faster than your portly uncle clears out an all you can eat buffet, then you know what to do! read more

GTE was everything we were looking for and more. I was pretty stressed out as far as timelines for the ceremony/reception and they took the reins over and helped me feel at ease. In our meetings leading up to our wedding on March 28, 2015 we had every single detail in tact. We met with Alex in our consultation with GTE and we hit it off right away. He totally understood our love for all types of music and even had some great ideas that we loved! The planning tools were great as well. You are able to select your songs individually and make adjustments up to a week before the wedding. The team was always available via email or phone. They all communicate great with each other which isn't always easy but you can tell they definitely take pride in their work. We also lucked out since they offer videography as well and ended up working with Nathan who was just as professional as Isaac and Alex. Rey and Alex ended up being our DJs for our wedding and everything went so smoothly. I can honestly say that I was able to RELAX and not worry about what was going to happen next because Alex completely handled everything!! Guests were commenting on how great the music was during dinner cause they played a variety of music since our guests varied in ages. We gave them a few suggestions on what genres we were wanting and they absolutely nailed it. Our reception was a freaking blast!!! I told Alex I wanted our guests to stay on the dance floor ALL NIGHT and thats exactly what happened!! We all had so much fun and had more than one "this is the best wedding ever" comments thrown out which was more than we anticipated. I would definitely recommend Good Times Entertainment for an event DJ. I know that if we ever need their services again they will be our go to.My only regret is not getting a picture of us with Alex! :) I cannot thank Alex enough for all of his hard work and making it a night we will never forget!!! read more

People often underestimate the importance of having a professional and quality DJ for their special events. I originally had another DJ in mind but after meeting with DJ Isaac and Alex, I was sold. They were very professional and genuine during the initial meeting. During the wedding planning process, they help us picked out songs (because we were indecisive) down to the day of the wedding. That's how accommodating they were. I think I talked to like three different DJs at Good Times and they were all in constant communication. DJ Alex exceeded my expectations during our wedding day. Everything was on point because of him. He kept us on time and paced everything perfectly. I'm looking at our wedding videos and his professionalism speaks volume. We had no speaker problems during the wedding ceremony. His timing was impeccable, even the tea ceremony song he picked out was perfect. I told them what song I wanted to play, but the version he played was better! He was also very polite especially with the venue's owner and the guests. Wedding can be stressful, but they took a ton of stress off during our wedding. Well worth the money spent! read more
