Welcome to Trova. The name is a tribute to creativity to the nostalgic Puerto Rican classics where everything is local. I'm going to start off by saying I have read the reviews and they are either 5 stars or 1 star. We ordered a bottle of processo and the octopus thinly sliced with avocado. I ordered the octopus salad and a side of time and beans. I'm from Puerto Rico and rice and beans are a staple. But the beans must have sofrito in them and I did ask. They were there!! I would have never thought about having octopus with olives, grapefruit, oranges. Yes this dinner was expensive but I knew that coming in and expected it. So the bill was no surprise. What was a surprise was the amazing flavors we got to experience tonight and after all isn't that what life's about? It's not the gift but the experience and if you want that I am highly recommending Trova. Plus our waitress Genesis was awesome to get to know! read more

Part of a Resort Pass was the inclusion of brunch at Trova. Gorgeous restaurant with fantastic service. The brunch choices were selections from a menu. We had the steak and eggs and the fish tacos, both very tasty. Portions were not overwhelming so we had room for the dessert also included. Our meals also included perfect coffee, fruit and bread, and bottomless mimosas! For dessert, both of us enjoyed the bread pudding with ice cream. We couldn't finish it all. Lovely place! read more

I can't say enough good things about this fabulous restaurant. Wow! The service was attentive and Genesis offered good conversation as she tended to us without being overbearing. We enjoyed a bottle of Prosecco with dinner. We were served delicious yeast rolls before dinner. For appetizer we shared the polpo dish. It was amazing. I think it's the best octopus dish I've ever tried. The perfect balance of tender octopus and lively dressing with slivers of pepper and onion. The onion was not overpowering at all. For main course I enjoyed the grouper soup. Every single bite I think I said out loud "wow!" The balance of flavors - I can't describe how delicious it was. Truly I would get this dish again. I enjoyed a side of tostones which was more than enough to share. Two of us couldn't eat it all. The server brought sweet tiny butter cookies either our check. A lovely gesture. The ambiance of the restaurant is coastal but refined. Comfy chairs and cozy tables. Overhead soft lights and beautiful Caribbean music softly plays in the background. And take time to read the stories that go with the menu items. It adds much to the experience to know what the chef was thinking when he created the menu. This place was so expensive I was hoping it would be good. We got the coconut ceviche good and different, I got the gnocchi and it was interesting but not my favorite too cold and looked like an appetizer not a meal. My man ordered steak and they did not bring him it and it was his birthday. Our kids became restless I took them to the bathroom when I came back I got the news they forgot his steak , then they tried to bag it and charge him full price, and I told Him I hope they give you a discount. He got a discount 25%.. I think they should have taken it off and given him it for free. No I won't be back. The waitress was nice and sweet but I don't know how they forgot his entire meal like that. I don't recommend going to a place that's hundreds of dollars for your food to be forgotten. Don't go. Flan was outrageously overpriced I could have made one at home. 50$ for 5 flans . read more

I ate at Trova daily during my stay at the Wyndham Palmas Del Mar. The food is a little on the pricey side, but the convenience of having a quality restaurant right in the boutique resort makes it a great option. Whether you sit indoors or enjoy the breezy outdoor seating the vibe was always perfect and the food always came in a timely manner. Highly recommend for anyone staying in Palmas Del Mar! read more

We had an outstanding evening for my MIL's 92nd birthday. We tried several appetizers - all were unusual and delicious. We had the coconut ceviche and I've never had anything like it before. We also loved the tuna appetizer. The entrees were also wonderful and we started the evening with outstanding cocktails. I loved the Trova Sour.. While a bit pricey, the food here was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed a churrasco steak with chimichurri served with brocollini & papaya slaw, as well as scampi mahi mahi. If you're looking for a high-level culinary experience, look elsewhere. The food here is overpriced and not very good at all. I ordered a tuna tartare that was not tuna tartare at all--chunks of second rate tuna in a very mayo heavy sauce. My husband ordered the burger and liked it, but you can get a decent burger just about anywhere, so why pay the prices here. We ordered tuna tartare appetizer, a salad, my husband's burger, a cheese pizza and drinks and the bill was $137. Nope. There are so many great restaurants nearby that there is NO reason to go to this restaurant. The service was awful too, but apparently they were super understaffed, so I'm not even counting that toward the one star review. read more

We had such an amazing experience at Trova Coastal Kitchen in the Wyndham Palmas. From the decor, to the service and delicious food, everything was perfect. Everything we ordered was uber delicious and beautifully presented. Perfect quantity as well. Yara, our waitress, was absolutely amazing. She was super friendly and knew the menu like the back of her hand. She answered all our menu questions and suggested dishes to perfection. We are planning on coming back before we leave Palmas. The place looks amazing so we had high hopes and we wanted to love it. First time I had a fried chicken, my wife a pizza. My chicken tasted like fryer grease past it's change date, extra greasy taste and texture not very crispy, her pizza was underwhelming but we left willing to try again. Round 2 - next visit we brought our family and sat in their dining room. There was a man having dinner in the dining room listening to a baseball game on his iPhone, full blast no headphones. I asked the staff if they would ask him to turn it down/off. out of 5 staff members, No one would ask him not to use the restaurant as his living room. So we moved our party of four outside. We knew all their cocktails are over sweet so I asked for my old fashioned with half the sugar, no luck, same over sweet drink. For dinner I had a skirt steak. It had clearly been over marinated, good flavor but a texture like a mushy meat loaf. I couldn't eat it. My wife had salmon, good flavor, but then she was pulling pin-bones out of the filet. All of their appetizers have been good so maybe I will just drink wine and apps. there's not anything that looks like this in Palmas. I sincerely hope they can pull it together. TERRIBLE. VEGAN TRASH. Over priced and pretentiou. As a restaurant owner I was doing recon. The menu was thought up poolside while sowing margarita. I've had vegan food, good vegan food this was not it. I was eating this outdated stuff ten years ago. Step it up guys. read more
