Had a great day fishing the Middle Provo. My guide Eric was awesome! For a young guy, he knows a lot about fishing.

Duel catch! We kept Mark busy

Best fly shop in the park city area. Good fly selection and helpful people behind the counter. What more do you want?

Fly fishing is about getting on the river and enjoying life and if you happen to catch a fish you get hooked, pun intended.

He informed me that his store did not have but he would research other stores, and would call me back. When I didn't hear from him the next day, I called HIM back. He said he did find what I wanted in CO, but I would have to come in and pay in person. I went in, and found Reed, and thanked him for finding the skis. I asked about bindings and he brought out a set. He proceeded to tell me he would have the skis sent from Colorado to HIS store and then he would send the bindings and skis to me. During this entire interaction, he acted like he was "doing me a favor". He almost had an attitude of detached and "could-care-less what you do" behavior. Then I asked if there would be free shipping. He told me in a curt manner that no, he would be charging me for shipping. It was up to the store manager's discretion to decide about charging for shipping, and that free shipping was only for online purchases. Me: "So EVERY store charges shipping? Which store has the Nordicas?" Reed: "Beaver Creek" Me: OK, can we have the skis sent directly to my home from there and can I talk to the manager at Beaver Creek?" Reed agreed and called Beaver Creek. He put me on the phone with John, who was the complete opposite of Reed in terms of his tone and demeanor! He was super helpful, he said of course he will ship the skis to my home and NO shipping charges. I told him we skied in CO and he said please come to Beaver Creek and that I would love it. I told him I would see him next winter. I told Reed I would NOT be purchasing the bindings from him because of his rude attitude. As I had gotten previous help (on another visit to Christy's) from BETSY, who was absolutely helpful, knowledgeable and gracious, I walked out after telling Reed that "he could learn a thing or two about customer service from the other employees." If someone in upper management at Christy's reads this, it would benefit your company to think about weeding out bad seeds like Reed to preserve the reputation of Christy's. That was one of the worst examples of customer service I have ever encountered. Word of mouth spreads quickly.

There is a great selection and variety. I mostly go for the toys. There is a specific toy that I seek and this is the place to find them. While their toy department is not huge and is just a relatively smaller department within the store, what they do have is quality stuff, things that people actually seek out. Lego sets, RCs, educational children's toys, games, etc. I was pleasantly surprised to see a decent selection of disc golf discs. They even had some of one of my favorite brands, Kastaplast! Either Kastaplast is finally getting some mainstream recognition or Scheels has a good sporting goods manager. Speaking of which, Ashton is a great guy and truly thinks of the customer first and the customer's experience. There were even Zuca disc golf carts there. And they were all on sale. Another aspect to love about Scheels are the things you can do there like mini bowling, shooting arcade, and the Ferris wheel. You can have a date there for cheap! And then go to the cafe for a meal or treats. BTW, the jerky they sell there is excellent! All the employees there are very helpful. In some small ways, Scheels is better than Bass Pro, Cabela's, Sportsman's Warehouse. In this competitive market, small ways is what stands you apart. I really like those other stores, too, but Scheels just feels different. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

(I had several questions) 10 minutes in golf department. Same story. 20 minutes in BBQ and the two guys there seemed more worried about the display looking great than offering help. I've always loved Scheels but I am very disappointed with the current lake of service or lack of. I hope things improve! (I only spent $250)

The entire experience was outstanding from start to finish! The whole team at both Park City locations was patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. Special shoutout to Matt, Craig, and Natalie--especially Craig, who is a true expert in ski boot fitting. He asked thoughtful questions about our skiing ability and style, took precise measurements, and somehow nailed the perfect boots for both of us on the first try. We couldn't believe how comfortable and dialed-in they felt! No one rushed us, every question was answered thoroughly, and we were encouraged to try different options until we felt 100% confident in our purchase. They treated our time and money like it was their own, which goes a long way and is rare these days. We even had our 6-month-old baby with us, and the team was so kind and welcoming--helping keep him entertained throughout the process.
