Campground was clean and well kept. Fairly easy to find (read written directions on recreation.gov) Tent pads were nice, easy to find firewood, don't pay for wood. Easy river access for washing and exploring water areas. Toilets were clean, water available by entry. We reserved online to be sure, but you can just show up before 4pm and register for any available spot. The camp spots are about 30 feet from neighboring camp spots, we were lucky and it wasn't busy but if it was it would have been crowded. Not too much hiking available or great views other than the river in walking distance. River was awesome though, don't try crossing it, it's too strong (month of July) Overall had a good stay and it's a really decent spot.

Best camping in the woods and on a river for families. A short and very well maintained trail through the woods and over Troublesome Creek on a footbridge built on logs - very cool, and thank you Boy Scouts. Our campsite was steps away from the North Fork Skykomish River and listening to it rush and roar and gurgle every night was hypnotic and a much needed break from city noises. Lots of rocks to climb on, lots of peace and quiet and an extremely well maintained campground. Smokey Bear paid a visit, which the little kids loved - though my teenagers were much to cool to admit they liked. This place is about 10 miles past Index, up in the mountains and woods, but still less than 2 hours from Seattle. Great place to pitch a tent if you don't feel like backpacking away from it all, but still want to get away from it all. Better do it in the summer though, this place is closed in winter.

The site itself is on the north fork of the Skykomish river so the scenery in and around the campsite is awesome.

It truly has everything and is completely beautiful. There is tons of parking and it usually isn't too busy. They have yurts, tent camping, and drive in camping. All gorgeous spots. There are 3-4 amazing river access spots. The river has deep spots, shallow, fast, and slow, making it perfect for any speed of swimmer to hang out. There are usually people in floaties and on paddle boards enjoying the area. The view from the suspension bridge that connects the two sections of the park is stunning. It reminds me how much beauty Washington has and gets me choked up just thinking about it. There are endless cool trails to explore, all leading to fun little adventures and scenic views. This is the perfect park to just spend a day getting lost in nature, swimming, having a picnic, or having a leisurely campout.

Guests can enjoy a seating area at the top of the hill and there is a nearby shack that provides firewood and propane for convenience. Some of the park's sites include cozy cabins, each furnished with a comfortable chair, desk, and a generous king-size bed, along with a window offering views of the RV area. A bit later I was able to get a sneak peek at the hot water heaters and they were turned all the way down to the lowest possible temperature setting. This maybe fine during the summer but it is now headed into winter and the park refuses to provide hot shower water in the community restroom. Other than the cold shower water, the park is very clean and well maintained.
