We went through all the paperwork. We paid the fee. I donated. We had the kitten in the carrier. Then we were told, no we couldn't adopt her as there was an appointment for someone to see her 2 weeks in the future. So we had to leave her. My 7 year old has cried on and off for an hour and shows no sign of stopping. Please consider adopting elsewhere. This has been a distressing experience and I don't want anyone else to go through this. I don't understand how I could fill out the entire application in the app, and pay the fee and nothing flagged until we were walking out the door. The system must be profoundly broken.

I received a wonderful email from Susan who is the intake manager saying that they would be happy to take the kitties, they wouldn't separate them because they were brother and sister And they would make sure that they went to a wonderful home. My fiancé brought his daughter up there and as difficult as it was, she saw how beautiful the sanctuary was and knew that they would be given to another wonderful home! We are so thankful that Purrfect pals took the kitties because the last thing we wanted to do is give them to King County or to a kill animal shelter :)

They also make a bunch of awesome pet products that cats absolutely love and one of the best things about these products are that they are elaborate and fun and unique and when we put them up for our cats they go wild and crazy and they last nearly forever. They're still using several of these. It's freaking awesome actually.

With that said, I've never worked with a better organization -- the staff despite dealing with the toughest animal welfare cases our society can bring do what is best for the animals. They throw vaccine clinics, do what they can to provide spay/neuter, and employ a behaviorist so that every animal gets a chance if possible. It's not always possible -- which those who don't work in rescue clearly don't understand. It's a thankless job as these comments show. I recommend everyone with something unkind to say to spend some time volunteering, and they'd get A PIECE of the demoralizing and bleak reality that the shelter employees deal with daily all to help and do what they can for the thousands of animals that come into their care. I could actually tell that they want the best for the cat and for the adopter, providing lots of information and resources there and post adoption. The cat we saw on the website was not available by the time we arrived but they had several options and we were able to spend as much time as we needed with the cat before deciding. I also appreciate that they will do a 24 hr hold so you can go home and think about it, pickup supplies etc. Highly recommend PAWS for adult cat adoption!

We brought 8-month-old Noodles home in November of 2023 and immediately noticed that he wasn't eating, wasn't pooping, and was scratching at his left ear. Many many vet visits later we have learned that his colon was so badly impacted that he will have permanent trouble pooping, and that the infection in his left ear had been neglected for so long that it had spread to the bones of his skull. His first major surgery is next week. Please, if you choose to use this breeder - demand a clean bill of health before signing anything. Otherwise you could be looking at five figures' worth of vet bills like we are.
