The road to the camp is a bit of a trekk. It's long, windy, and much of it dirt with pot holes. There's also no cell service out there so be sure to communicate with anyone you're meeting shortly after turning off highway 2. The camp sites themselves are good sized, we easily fit 2 tents and our cars. There was a fire pit and a picnic table too. We had access to the river and enjoyed a nice cold plunge on a warm day. There were several hikes in the area to choose from but we couldn't turn down the incredible Lake Blanca, whose trailhead was only a few minutes away. We look forward to visiting this campground again next year.

Located about two hours from any…read moresignificant population base, accessible off of a (mostly) dirt forest service road, you'll marvel at the serenity of this idyllic campground. There are two sides to this campground, an east and a west loop. My spot was on the east loop, space 15 and I'd definitely recommend the spaces on the east loop, as they give you ample privacy with equally ample access to the creek and the North Fork of the Skykomish River. No power hookups means you can set the devices aside and worry little about what's happening in the city. Out here, the entertainment is happening in nature. Views of surrounding peaks, the rush of the water as it flows past and as night falls, the dotting of stars in the inky black sky will give you exactly what you need before heading back to civilization. Nature truly is the best. I'll be back to this campground again, no doubt.

Cable TV they offer is a joke! Duck and goose poop everywhere around your site. Don't count on sleeping in as the ducks and geese will have you awake well before the sunrise. No wood or charcoal burning! All in all it's Ok. Would stay again when it's dryer weather so we are not surrounded by a marsh.

Lush campsites with fire rings. 2. Location: Perfectly surrounded by Trout Creek and the North Fork of the Skykomish River which makes for surreal camping, epic trout and salmon fishing, and a great site for rafting/kayaking trips. It feels like you're on an island. Easy location to begin hikes from as well. 3. They even have porto-potties (which makes it easier for the ladies)! Located off hwy 2 past the picturesque town of Index WA and on at the end of the Index-Galena road washout. This private campground is owned and operated by Outdoor Adventure Center right in Index. Reservations are required in advanced with the Outdoor Adventure Center (see link). I've stayed here numerous times with family and friends. Highly recommend for family, fishing, hiking, climbing, naturalist, and photographer camping getaways.

I have been visiting Tiger Mountain (AKA Fraternity Snoqualmie) Family Nudist Camp for about 7…read moreyears. During the summer it's the best time to just lay out in the sun and swim in the heated pool. You must be nude to swim in the pool. I've always found the locals and residents at the park to be warm and helpful. There is a full covered kitchen available for anyone to cook in and eat at the picnic tables just outside. Being publicly nude seems strange at first but that soon goes away. No one cares what you look like, just who you are and they are willing to get to know you. A couple of years ago they built three small cottages next to the restroom/shower facility. They are called the "Birdcages". All three use the established facilities so it is a bit strange but worth the place to stay at a very reasonable price. I plan on going back there for my annual summer "migration" to the park. It's worth calling them at 425-392-6833 and talk about any concerns. They are very professional and concerned about your privacy. Cross it off your bucket list if for no other reason.

It truly has everything and is completely beautiful. There is tons of parking and it usually isn't too busy. They have yurts, tent camping, and drive in camping. All gorgeous spots. There are 3-4 amazing river access spots. The river has deep spots, shallow, fast, and slow, making it perfect for any speed of swimmer to hang out. There are usually people in floaties and on paddle boards enjoying the area. The view from the suspension bridge that connects the two sections of the park is stunning. It reminds me how much beauty Washington has and gets me choked up just thinking about it. There are endless cool trails to explore, all leading to fun little adventures and scenic views. This is the perfect park to just spend a day getting lost in nature, swimming, having a picnic, or having a leisurely campout.

Or you can come with your car or truck and stay on one of the spots at the beginning. Either way you'll have quick access to the Snoqualmie River with splendid view. You can also fish and have a good time with your kids in this small beach. When you cross the bridge be mindful for other people coming the other way or behind you. There is a sign that you must have some feet in between groups. You'll get to the trail which is at your right. Watch out for bears with cubs. It is a nice trail with pepples at the beginning. Not a good idea for strollers but still can have a great time at the lawn. Easy parking near the baseball field. Good way to spend family time on a weekend.

But this park is more about the sunset. I was in town as a day trip and the weather was so nice that I wanted to check out the sunset. We sat there people watching on the bench as the sun started sinking over the water. People walked out down the pier and it made for really nice pictures. Once the sun went down, people left because there was a chill in the air, but until that moment, the sunset was magical. Definitely glad we hung around for twilight.

The shower water in the community shower is barely lukewarm. I asked the lady at the front desk,…read moreand she said the shower was cold because of the type of push button shower knob and there was nothing they could do to fix the cold shower water. A bit later I was able to get a sneak peek at the hot water heaters and they were turned all the way down to the lowest possible temperature setting. This maybe fine during the summer but it is now headed into winter and the park refuses to provide hot shower water in the community restroom. Other than the cold shower water, the park is very clean and well maintained.

We camped here this summer after launching our kayaks from Anacortes and really enjoyed the stay in…read morethis remote and uncrowded camping ground. After kayaking in on a Friday night there wasn't a lot of space on the hill so we had to settle for the beach which was a bit windy but still nice. Most people had traveled by boat and brought more things but we kept it pretty light. Saturday morning a large group left opening up a site with great views for us to snag and it was beautiful waking up to such a lovely sight. There are two locations with composte toilets, sites with picnic tables and fire pits. No water access so pack your own and there's lots of mice so be sure to have a way to store your food. Also please make sure and pack out whatever you pack in as there are no garbage facilities or regular maintenance and we want to keep the mousey home nice, yah know?! When not gawking at the view there's lots to do on Cypress Island. We did a 5 mile out and back up to a little pond and airfield, there's a protected bay for swimming and paddle boarding, and lots of wild life to see. We watched eagles, sea otters, dolphins, sea lions, and tons of birds..and of course the mousies, while we visited. Lovely spot!
