Tropical Vinyasa is an excellent Miami yoga studio with thoughtful instruction, a welcoming atmosphere, and classes that leave you feeling both stronger and more grounded. It has a distinctly local energy that makes practicing here feel especially good. read more

Gorgeous space with instructor welcoming of all abilities. It may have been too ambitious for me to try Sunrise Vinyasa while I'm still building neck and shoulder strength but I plan to try the slow flow candle lit yoga in the evenings. PS you can always drop off your canine companion at the doggie daycare nearby. read more

Tropical Vinyasa - Yoga Near Me - Miami Beach, Florida

Great boutique yoga studio in the heart of Sunset Harbour, full of ambiance and cool friendly staff/yoga instructors. After taking Michelle Berlin's class (Hatha Yoga and sound healing) I literally became her fan and have been stalking her all over Miami Beach haha. Shelly's magical sounds heal and elevate, you will feel as good as after a good deep tissue massage or a 10 hour sleep. This was my first experience ever with sound healing and I am never looking back, what a great addition to a modern (stressful) lifestyle. My only wish is for the studio to offer restorative classes for those days when you do not wanna jump through vinyasas :) read more

This is one of the studios that feels like home. It's a beautiful space! I feel it's true charm comes from all who practice there. Amy and Paul created a space for the community to come together, and have made sure that everyone who walks through that door feels welcome. I enjoy the teachers, of all different backgrounds. There is always something new to learn. That may be just where my practice it is at! Open mind , open heart! So much love for tropical vinyasa! read more

I tried every Yoga studio in South Beach when I first moved here and Tropical Vinyasa was hands down the best for me. They have a diverse with classes almost every hour morning, afternoon and evening so I can fit it in with my hectic schedule. The best part however is the family vibe of this studio. Amy, Paul, Dani, and Lucia made me feel welcome since day 1 and that's what makes me keep coming back. Paul and Amy have built something special here and I'm glad to be a part of it. read more

By far, the worst yoga class I have ever attended, and I've been to a lot. All-in-all, it was clear that this class was meant for the regulars to get time to show off for the instructor and their friends. The energy in that room was just sour. I'll start from the very beginning, when my friend and I were in Miami on vacation and wanted to practice. 1. The loaner mats are the worst. $24 is a lot for a class and with that money they should invest in quality mats. 2. There is a huge mirror. I know lots of studios have mirrors, but i think this is one thing that fosters the "look at me" environment and makes it impossible to turn inward. 3. Cliques. Before class, the front row (the ones RIGHT at the big mirror) kept talking about how the front row is "the cool row". My friend and I placed our mats in the second row, and then the other regulars who joined later than we did made multiple snarky comments about how they "got pushed back to the third row"? Is this class a game where the "better" you get, you get to move closer to the mirror? Ugh. 4. The instructor placed her mat in the middle of class and practiced with us the entire time. This was so strange. And half of the time she didn't even use words to walk us through the postures, she just waited for people to look at her and follow along. It was obvious she didn't put time into preparing for class - it felt like she made it up as she went. She didn't actually instruct how to get in and out of poses, and some were challenging ones like bound marichyasana or kapotasana. It was expected that you knew and if you didn't, too bad. I imagine lots of injuries could happen here. 5. Most of the students didn't follow the structure of the class and just decided to do what they wanted. It was a bit of a cluster. At any given point there was someone popping up into a handstand or dropping back to wheel. It's one thing to pop up to a handstand when the pose we're in is a prep for that, but not when we're working on going deeper into twisted triangle. Again, "look at me". This was wildly distracting. 6. People chatted with each other throughout class. They clearly were not treating this as a sacred space and did not respect the practice of others. Also very distracting. 8. The music was up and down throughout class. Sometimes it was crazy loud and I couldn't hear the instructor (and this is a small room) and then sometimes it was a strange little murmur. 7. There wasn't a wind down. We went from kapotasana to "flip over to savasana". The one star that I'm forced to give can apply to the physical space. It was nice and light and bright. Lots of potential there. Overall - pretty terrible experience and I left this class feeling worse than when I went in. Take your yoga dollars elsewhere and find a class that is really interested in teaching YOGA, not just playing with handstands. Usually I'm all for trying out different teachers before making a judgement like this, but instructors (and even students) are a reflection of the studios values, so it was pretty clear this was not the place for me. Ps. I am also a yoga instructor in NYC so some of these comments are from a place of understanding yoga as a whole and of fun & challenging postures, which are just one small piece of the pie. read more

Terrible! I had been coming to this studio for awhile. It was one of the few studios that didn't use incense or at least the instructors in the classes I attended previously didn't. However, I came today to one of the Tropical Flow classes and asked the instructor if she uses incense or would be using incense. She said she had just lit it. I asked if I should cancel and she asked if I had allergies. I said I had asthma and allergies. She said to tell the instructor next time if I didn't "like" the incense. If you cancel a class on ClassPass, you are charged a fee. I had been looking forward to the class and decided not to cancel even though I knew I would start to have trouble breathing. I found a seat close to the door as I figured the air would circulate the incense. Class began and the door was closed. The fan was turned off as well. After there was a pause before the Vinyasa flow began, I tried to get her attention by pointing to the fan without interrupting her instructions. She wouldn't make eye contact with me initially and then said she turns on the fan at the end of class. I was asking because the incense was starting to make breathing difficult. and wasn't due to the warmth in the room. I am a certified instructor as well and have trained in the heat both outside and in a heated room so I'm used to the heat. Past instructors I have gone to previously have asked if anyone had injuries or would be comfortable with the incense. The instructor today didn't ask either of those questions and wasn't friendly overall. One person in front of me was coughing and maybe the incense bothered her too. After class, she didn't ask if I was ok or if the breathing became better. Another person had come up to me and asked what my name was and saw that I was on ClassPass. She said she would try to refund me the money. The money doesn't matter to me....it shouldn't matter how a participant paid for the class. I'm more concerned about the inconsideration, rudeness, and lack of concern for possible injuries or medical conditions of class participants. I let the second person know that the instructor lit the incense without asking if anyone in the class would be uncomfortable. Overall, I was disappointed and shocked that there are instructors out there teaching who care so little and lack common sense. read more

Wonderful yoga studio. I've never walked out of Tropical Vinyasa and not felt lighter than when I walked in. Great energy from the floor to the light to the instructors. Paul's class has been a Miami Beach yoga staple for a hot minute and is super. Definitely worth a drop in if you're in from out of town or a local looking for a different vibe from your regular practice spot. I try to pop in twice a month (I live 45 minutes away) but would go more if I was closer. If you're reading this check them out. read more

Tropical Vinyasa does yoga right. Walking into the comfy space feels like returning home after a long journey. Amy and Paul are legendary in the South Florida community and are the kind of teachers we need. Soulful, committed, knowledgeable. If you are ready to live your yoga, this is the place to do it. Namaste. read more

I love love LOVE this studio. As a Miami Beach resident it is one of my very favorite places to practice. Beautiful and inviting design. Very clean!!! A welcoming staff and master yogi teachers who take great care in their teachings to deepen your practice and inspire you. Highly recommended for yogis of all levels. I'm a long time yogi who practices every day in Miami's many studios. My weekly visit to Tropical Vinyasa is one of my favorite practices. The vibe in the room, the experience of the teachers, and the joy of the students trying new things or working on the basics are all part what makes this a place I always leave feeling fabulous. I always practice wherever I travel, and it's rare to find a place where mats, towels, and even mat towels are available to the traveling yogi. If you're in town, drop in and enjoy! read more

Love the space and instructors amazing yoga studio and great addition to the community

Came by this place hoping to check them out and take some yoga classes. I've been practicing yoga for a number of years now in studios in a variety of cities. Was surprised by the space itself -- it's a rather small room, without any waiting area nor reception -- people waiting to take the class were waiting outside on the sidewalk. Unfortunately, the space outside on the sidewalk is not terribly inviting, there's a large dumpster nearby. Chatted with the instructor who said that their trial class was $25, or $50 for classes. Seems ridiculous to me given that most studios let you try out their space for free -- there are a lot of different yoga modalities and communities, and it can take some time to find a studio that is the right fit. Went inside briefly to see the space and it felt cramped to me and smelled too much like a locker room, it didn't feel like it had good ventilation. Had also never done yoga in a space that was literally one room, nor had them have the audacity to charge $175 for a membership to a studio. Given the size of the space, and the lack of studio amenities, I'd expect a monthly membership to be in the $50 range. All in all, just felt like they were trying to lock me in and get me to pay money -- I think a better strategy is to focus on the yoga first, and if people like your yoga, they'll become loyal customers -- there's no need to try to get as much money as possible from first-timers. read more

Sunday Hatha and south bath with Michelle Berlin is probably the best yoga in town. I love how balanced is Michelle's format. She allows me to breath while getting the true benefits of the poses but don't think is not a work out because it's intense! Lots of breath work and cleansing. I love It so much! read more

This is the most beautiful, fun and warm-hearted studio. All of the teachers here are top notch. They're kind, caring and genuine in their own practices. Personally I love hearing Paul talk about Oneness from his genuine and vast experience. This is definitely a place to check out, practice, learn and connect with community. I highly recommend it. read more

The studio is very small, too small. I took a class with the arrogant Amy Steiner, who spoke about herself the entire time. No thanks.

I really enjoy practicing at this studio. Paul is an excellent instructor, calming and positive. The pace of the Pineapple Express class is good. The studio is bright & clean. They have free loaner mats and towels. The classes are always full. My favorite place to practice yoga on the beach. read more

One of the best studios is Miami! The staff is welcoming, kind, and always willing to help. There is a great range of classes which means you'll never be bored. Gives a whole new meaning to yoga, it is no longer slow and purely technical. The studio instructors (especially Amy R.) transform their classes into something fun and challenging. I would especially recommend Amy R's class to anyone that's in the area and is looking for a good sweat, stretch, or personal challenge. Amy R. Is hands on and ready to help you if you need her at any point throughout the class, she has the best energy, that lasts till the very end of class, and is constantly pushing you throughout class to better your practice and get the most out of the workout. read more

I recently joined ClassPass and stumbled upon this studio - I was blown away. I usually don't enjoy yoga because I prefer exercise that is more fast paced but this class was amazing! It was the perfect mix between a good work out, a fantastic stretch, and an unbelievable relaxation opportunity. Highly recommend this adorable studio if you're nearby. read more
