Many moons later their shala aka yoga studio moved from South Beach to the Wynwood neighborhood which is a unique neighborhood with many art galleries, heaps of graffiti murals, and an amazing vegan restaurant aka Love Life Cafe. I studied primarily Mysore style Ashtanga aka self-practice with Joseph Armstrong and also with Silvana. Along with more Yin and Restorative classes Yin with Wanda and Restorative with Dennis. All the teachers here are excellent, knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming. One room for improvement is during one Mysore class someone was texting throughout the class which was annoying. The studio should be a place to unplug from your phone. The studio offers remote zoom and in person both yet students in class shouldn't be texting on their phones if something is so important than they shouldn't be in class and handle that outside. I have spent many years abroad in India doing intense yoga studies and also here in North America yet feel that Miami Life Center is one of the best places to learn the transformative practice of Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga on our tiny planet. I live in Miami Springs and have been taking Madalay's yoga classes for almost half a year now…read more She is a wonderful instructor and I and can personally attest to the caliber of her teaching. She truly cares about her students - meeting them where they're at but also challenging them. Madalay's style of yoga combines breathing techniques known as pranayama, as well as Iyengar traditional methods which focus on correct alignment and positioning of each pose. She has a variety of classes all the way from Mommy & Me to private instruction; she teaches men and women, children, expecting mothers, and senior citizens. She believes that no one is ever too young or too old for yoga, and that every BODY, regardless of gender or size, can enjoy the benefits. She has an outdoor class on Saturday mornings at Stafford Park at 9am (weather permitting), and a variety of classes throughout the week at her studio, which is located in the Stadnik Building on the 2nd floor. An all-month unlimited pass can be purchased for $100; most general classes are $15 and I think the Mommy & Me class is $20. Definitely worth checking out.

I came by to take a 6:30 class and really was wowed by the environment. The blue ceiling was so serene with some candles flickering in the corner, I really felt at peace. All the other students were so nice, I wouldn't mind coming here everyday if my schedule weren't so hectic. I will however vow to come as often as I can. Yoga is a relaxing way to self-reflect bad with on your inner energy while stretching your muscles and using strength to build your stamina. Mecca does just that! Last year I hurt my illio-tibial (IT) band badly during a marathon. It's my fault for not incorporating stretches into my workouts so ever since, I have been trying to find new ways to find relief. Pranoga is the second studio I visit this year. I found out about them through a Yelp friend and decided to give it a shot after purchasing the $39 deal for new students, which allows you to attend unlimited classes for 30 days. So far I've found the schedule to be very convenient, the classes are excellent, and the instructors manage to create an awesome flow in the class. Their schedule is available online and you can sign up (or cancel) your classes conveniently. They also offer great packages of all shapes and sizes (you know what I mean $$). The classes are available for every level, but you will definitely be challenged in some ways. For a beginner like me, I feel support from the staff in terms of practicing the art of yoga in a fluid and effective manner.

Life Changing…read more Located on the second floor of a building, it is away from the hustle and bustle of Doral, so from the moment you get out of the car you start feeling a little more "silent." The physical layout of the studio is very simple and clean. A small waiting room and a spacious, wood floor classroom, beautifully painted and with wonderfully regulated temperature. Their website is easy to navigate and you can see who is teaching what class, the times and go ahead and reserve your spot. The class sizes are small ( I think I have seen 10 people max?), so you get a lot of individualized attention. The instructors, however, are the reason you will want to come back.They are patient, motivating and full of wonderful energy. The classes are challenging, even the beginner ones, but you never feel pressured to do more than you can and they really do a wonderful job with the flow and allowing you to progress at your own pace. I had heard about the wonderful effects of yoga, but experiencing it has really changed my perspective. Physically i feel much better. I can touch my toes, my back aches have decreased and I can do all these cool "instagram worthy" poses. Mentally, these classes have given me a haven from my day to day and allowed me (a type A personality) to step back and give myself some love. Definitely a place to try!

I have a Florida ID. My father also has a secondary residence in Miami. Yet somehow, after arriving for what was advertised as a free first class, I was told my dad didn't qualify and was charged about $80 for the class and mat. What made the experience worse was my interaction with Jara. She claimed she had left me a voicemail explaining the relevant requirement beforehand. I still have all of my voicemails. That voicemail does not exist. Then, instead of simply resolving the issue, she held onto my ID while trying to upsell me on a "50% off" next class. There is something almost absurd about charging someone for what they reasonably believed was a free introductory class, then immediately presenting a discount on another class as though this were a customer-service solution. Maybe Yoga Joint has some technical interpretation of its promotion that explains all of this. But if you advertise a "free first class," the burden should be on the business to make any disqualifying conditions clear before the customer arrives - especially when the customer has a Florida ID. There are plenty of yoga studios in Miami. I'd recommend going somewhere that treats an introductory offer as a way to earn trust rather than something you need to litigate at the front desk. I've found places like Mimi Yoga to be far more understanding. One star. The yoga itself became almost irrelevant compared with the way the business handled the transaction.

First of all parking is super easy as there are plenty of parking spots all around the building. It's located on the 3rd floor and just follow the scent of incense once out of the elevators. The studio itself is super clean and very welcoming. Our instructor Shakti was amazing. She had the perfect pace which was great and accommodating for all levels. Her voice is very soothing and encouraging. I truly enjoyed her giving us options and letting us go at our own speed while at the same time keeping us focused on our breathing. In the end, my body felt sore but my mind felt clear. The perfect reset from the busy day to day of Miami hustle.
