I put in a mobile order about a month ago, and it was messed up horribly. I ordered the hummus veggie wrap, which might be their only vegetarian food option, I can't recall but it's definitely a vegetarian item. I asked to remove cheese and replace the ranch to make it vegan. I also asked for the limited edition 'Ohana Breeze smoothie, which was really delicious and tropical. The food was ready in the pickup area when it said it would be, but when I walked back to my car and bit into my wrap I realized there was chicken in it. I thought about just picking out the chicken, but there was too much mixed in. Luckily I didn't drive off and was still around the corner so I could easily get my order fixed. When I told the cashier about the mixup, her first response was if I asked for it with no chicken, where I had to show her the online menu where it shows that it's not one of the ingredients. She was very apologetic, and ended up having to go back and remake the wrap herself, even though she wasn't familiar with the the kitchen. (The rest of the staff disappeared.) When the manager came back, staff relayed the story and she was also very apologetic, and took over to make sure my order was right. I'm grateful that they were able to fix my order, but I do lose trust in an establishment once they add meat to a dish that is listed as a vegetarian option. Vegetarians and vegans can get very sick from eating meat, it's not pleasant. It was my first time ordering a food item from tropical smoothie, I've only ever ordered smoothies, but it'll probably be the last time. Once they got the order right, the wrap was just really bland, and I didn't enjoy it. read more

I probably won't be back just bc she thought she was talking shit about how we couldn't listen silently but actually it was rather loud. And she's lucky I wasn't in the mood to say something back. When you first arrive inside there's an awkward amount of space as if there's not enough tables. Seating options outside would be nice to take in the downtown area. It's truly a hit or miss with the staff whether you encounter friendly ones or annoyed ones. I normally prefer the other location on cypress but sometimes I am closer to this specific location. The food normally is ok. But today I placed an online order that was missing an item and I wasn't informed upon my arrival until I checked and asked. The guys working there told me there were out and offered me another side option. If I didn't ask I would have left without any notice. They also packed the bag without utensils or napkins and the açaí bowl was upside down tossed in the bag. The açaí bowls from other locations usually have freshly cut fruit but mine had half frozen half thawed out bananas that were nasty and mushy so I had to remove them from the bowl. On top of that my kale salad tasted old. When I checked it had a written date giving the kale salad a week to last in their fridge I supposed and the one I had seemed to be a day old. I didn't eat it not because it was refrigerated for a day but because it tasted old. Like fridge taste. $30 spent I should have just stuck with the wrap I ordered and nothing else. If there's another tropical smoothie on the way I would try them out before stopping here. read more

Dad's Lunch Adventure!!! I have been to this location a few times. I ENJOY The Thai chicken wrap and the Green Detox Smoothie, but the last few times I have cane to this downtown winter haven location I have experienced a decline in the food & Smoothie quality. The Thai chicken wrap seems to be getting smaller as less ingredients are being placed into the wrap the peanut sauce seems to be reducing in amount as well!! The Green Detox smoothie tasted very bland. Before I was able to taste the mango, pineapple and banana. On the last couple visits it just taste like all greens and has no flavor. I am disappointed as I did like this place and was ready to leave a good review hoping the experience was going to get better from the last couple times as it was a great healthy lunch place for me on the weekends. Unfortunately. It did not and seems to be continuing to decline in food value and care of the staff. The only staff member that was attentive and seemed to be working was the front counter girl. She was welcoming and attentive. The rest of the staff seem to be preoccupied as one staff member was on her phone the whole time I was there, except when she wanted a sip of her drink. She took her sip from behind the food table she was at and went right back to her phone moving down the line and a little more away from the front. If she was on break she should not be standing in the area where the food/smoothies are made while on personal devices and drinking over prep tables, it is not ideal to see that. I just Hope she washes her hands before she starts working!!! Also, while standing there waiting for my order. I listened to 2 other staff members getting a Togo order together for themselves from another restaurant that has rice and beans. This tells me if they won't even eat at this Tropical smoothie with an employee discount as I am sure they get, something is up!!! I know as a past kitchen employee you may feel like something different than what's on your establishments menu, but you can make anything with the ingredients you do have and save those other food cravings for when you are not at work where you serve food!!! This is a Red Flag for me!!! I think I will be driving farther to try the other Tropical smoothie on Cypress gardens next time. Still in Winter Have just farther drive, but when the food is good it's worth it. I will follow up with another review for that tropical smoothie, to be fair!!! This was my first time going to Tropical Smoothie. The location was clean but a bit cluttered with boxes in the corners of the main dining room, not sure if they are still transitioning to being fully open after the pandemic or if this was the norm. I ordered an All American Breakfast Wrap which was a bit cold. I also ordered a Watermelon-Mango Smoothie which was delicious and they made it for me even though it wasn't on the menu. I did like how they have a designated area for all online orders so that delivery drivers and people themselves can just walk up and pick them up without interrupting customers who are ordering at the counter. read more

Buckle up, this is a long one... This place is a joke. The food and smoothies are delicious if you ever get what you order. We have ordered from this place on DoorDash 8 times since March 24th of this year of those 8 orders we had to contact DoorDash 5 times for the order being wrong. That means nearly 63% of the time they get your order wrong. We usually order wraps. I can't eat tomatoes so I say no tomatoes but they put tomatoes, on a chicken Caesar wrap. Who in their right mind puts tomatoes on a chicken Caesar wrap? We've order double chicken and never gotten double chicken so we stopped. We order multiple different quesadillas like the Baja and usually end up just getting chicken and cheese. Where's the rest of the ingredients? Your suppose to get a side with your wrap. I like chips but good luck getting them. Out of 8 orders I've gotten my chips 3 times. If you order two of the same smoothies like 2 peanut butter cups for example and let's say you put no bananas in one you think they mark the cups with a sharpie or something, nope... so we make sure to get different colored smoothies every time so we can tell the difference. Ok let's get to the order that finally made me leave this review. I'll post the receipt; Baja Chicken Bowl said no rice, they put rice. Thai Chicken bowl was missing jalapeño corn. Jerk chicken quesadilla didn't have extra chicken and was a soggy limp mess. Supergreen chicken Caesar wrap didn't have extra chicken and was also a soggy mess. As for the two smoothies. One should of been green and the other brownish. We received one neon yellow smoothie and one red smoothie. On that order I called DoorDash and asked them to remake the order. My dasher called me and said some already picked it up. The shift manager then asked to speak to me and proceed to be rude as hell telling me the order can't be wrong because she made it her self and that no one contacted her about remaking it even though she told me several times she had both receipts in her hands. I hope the owners wake up and retrain their staff or maybe higher some competent staff so they don't go out of business but until then good luck if you order from here. read more

Finally tried Tropical Smoothie Cafe, and it was pretty good! I would definitely come back, I think I like it better than Smoothie King. It doesn't feel as heavy. I had the Blimey Limey (strawberry, pineapple, OJ, lime) and fiance had Sunrise Sunset (strawberry, pineapple, mango, OJ), both very good! I couldnt decide between Blimey Limey and Pomegranate Plunge (pomegranate, banana, cranberry, strawberry) and so glad for the register's suggestion bc it's a definite win and I may try other flavors next time! One star if that. Visited this location a few times but the last time now. The store was dingy and dark. Almost like a scary movie. I believe only 2 workers, the cashier seemed like she was completely intoxicated or was on some very strong painkillers. I ordered a chicken pesto flatbread to receive it without the pesto. I had to ask for the pesto but then was nervous on what I'd be given. I can't imagine ever coming back to this location. Service and speed were terrible today. I ordered a smoothie and acai bowl. I received the smoothie fairly quickly but waited 45 minutes and never received the bowl. I watched as other customers were waiting and getting frustrated. I understand being understaffed, but at least let people know if food is backed up an hour! I decided to get a refund since I had to leave for a meeting. I was told I couldn't get one because the girl who could issue the refund was on the food line. So, I was told I had to wait for the food or wait for a refund. I had to demand that someone be brought out to refund the money. Unfortunately, it took her forever to even give me my refund because she didn't know how to do it! I guess I will have to check my credit card in a few days to see if it's there. I really wanted to try their new bowls but it's certainly not worth the wait. I hope the company can get the staffing and organization under control. read more

A better meal than McDonald's for a better price. I always get the Smoothie and a Half for $8.01. My smoothies are consistently good (and I've been coming here since I was in high school) and the food tastes pretty good. Their new menu is good. Staff is always friendly and accomodating for my orders. I havent had any issues. The interior is typical Tropical Smoothie-island themed decor but with cheaper materials. It's very wide and kind of bare-looking. I'm pretty sure they decorated with stuff bought at a party store. It's in a pretty great location downtown on a corner space. I'd rate this Tropical Smoothie poor for their lack of customer service. The food and smoothies are fine, typical tropical smoothie, but they won't accept or give stamps for the frequent buyer cards. They also won't make adjustments to their smoothies such as adding a different fruit or adding protein to the kid shakes. They wouldn't tell me why other than management wouldn't allow it. In addition I went several times and asked for these changes on multiple occasions with different staff, just to be sure it wasn't one person being lazy. So today around 1430 hours Geoff Price and I went to Tropical Smoothie, located at 301 West Central Avenue in downtown Winter Haven, Fl. As we walked in together I was in plain clothes and he was in his police uniform. This guy in the picture and another worker were the only two employees present. This guy said "Hell no!" to his buddy as he seen us at the counter ready to place our order. His buddy replied what and then he said "I'm not serving them! You can... it's the cops! I like the smoothies and food here although it is very overpriced I rationalize it's due to their location downtown Winter Haven. There are some problems though. The line is far back from the menus so it's hard to take a look before you go up to the counter which is probably 15-20 feet away. I'm not sure who decided to make the line so far back. They have a spot for paper menus where the line starts but there are never any menus in it as if they ran out months ago and never decided to print any. The staff are friendly enough here although a bit slow and not in much of a hurry, but its slow enough that if I'm on the clock I usually skip it because I know it will take too long for too little. Another kind of annoying thing is that when they print your receipt at the counter for to go/carry out they have a receipt that asks for a tip. The thing is all I'm buying is a smoothie and I'm not asking for much service. If there was a self service station I could buy and make the smoothie myself in a matter of a minute. I don't feel like a tip is really justified for ordering a smoothie to go and waiting 10-15 minutes for it after waiting in line for 10 minutes. I don't know if the receipt just says this because its the same receipt printer they use for sit down orders but I feel bad not leaving a tip on the receipt. Its just not clear if they expect a tip for carry out or not. The smoothies are already very overpriced so the tip really seems unjustified. I like the assortment of smoothies they have here along with the different booster and protein options you can add in. If they change any thing in the future I will change my review since I like coming here. I feel my 4 star is being a bit generous when really I'd give them a 3 but I wouldn't want them to go out of business over a review. I just hope they change some of these things. read more
