The Deli Basket by far makes the best sandwiches. Made perfectly to order, with generous portions of meat, by the nicest people you'll ever meet! Anytime I'm over in Winter Haven around lunch this is where I go. Sometimes I make the 30 minute drive just for it! Was looking for a sandwich shop. Found the Deli Basket!!! Simple sandwich menu at great prices! Have tried a couple different sandwiches. They were great! What a great spot! Stopped here for lunch with my family while here on vacation. And we were NOT disappointed! Easy to get to, bright and clean deli. Even the bathroom was immaculate. There seemed to be a lot of regulars that stopped in, and the owner (Heather) treats every there like family. The sandwiches we had were phenomenal! I had the Italian sub, and chose all of my favorite toppings. My husband had roast beef and Swiss. There is no skimping on meat, the bread was even perfectly soft but held together perfectly to keep everything on my sandwich. Prices were more than fair for the quality and quantity of food you get. I will 1000% be back to this spot when I come back here on vacation. You should absolutely give this place a shot. And they deliver within a radius too. Try the Italian!!! read more

The Deli Basket has the BEST sandwiches and salads. We are locals and visit here weekly. Our favorite sandwich is their pressed cuban. The signature sandwich I get on a wrap and I can only finish half of it. I recommend trying this place out as it is a well kept secret on the southeast side and Heather, the owner, and her staff treat you like old friends. I was driving my route for work in the Winter Haven, FL area when I looked up best Sandwich Shops and the Deli Basket showed up so I checked out their website and their selection looked really delicious. My choice was the Cuban Sandwich which was made to perfection with lots of fresh ingredients and mouth watering meat very well portioned. My whole meal was well priced. The costumer service was fantastic when I ordered my food over the phone it was ready when I got to the shop and I was helped by this very lovely lady who I assume was the owner she did fantastic job. My whole experience with the Deli Basket was truly amazing and I will be coming again if I am ever in the Winter Haven area again so I recommend the Deli Basket to everyone. Finding the Deli Basket was like finding that diamond in the rough once you find it you always want to find it again. I thought it was pretty Magical that I came across this little sandwich shop on my work journey through the city of Winter Haven, FL. Best deli around. The store is always clean and and the employees are always friendly & helpful. My fav is the DELI CLUB! So big I get two meals from it. They have specials like 1/2 sandwich & homemade soup or 1/2 sandwich & salad. All is very good! All food is freshly made while you wait or you can have it delivered. read more

Two days in a row...this place is great. The sandwich portions are huge. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. I wish they had more to offer in sides such as maybe Spanish Bean soup (maybe they offer this but it wasn't here on the two days I visited). It would be nice to have French fries or onion rings. They have a large variety of sandwiches though and you can get them pressed or heated. They also have a large variety of condiments. I had seen where another reviewer wrote that the prices were high. I didn't really think they were any higher than most sandwich places like Crispers or Panera. For two sandwiches, chips and two drinks, I paid $14.12. I will definitely be back. read more

I tried them for 1st time. Based on a review, I tried the Ruben & it was excellent! Based on that, I ordered the chef salad on another day. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was! I got to order it as I liked it- no bacon or onions. They custom made it! They also deliver within a certain distance for a VERY reasonable charge. Certainly is a nice change from all the other places where you can't get any other food that I refer to as a "heavy" lunch or dinner such as pasta or pizza. Deli Basket is a refreshingly great lil Deli! My only suggestion I'd to include a nice wedge of dill pickle with the order. read more

I even phoned this place and was told, yes, they make really good hot pastrami sandwiches. Of course they will say that. Unfortunately it was far from the truth. If you like your pastrami salty, greasy, dry, and tough, then this the place for you, yummy, I think not. This is not an authentic deli, just a run of the mill sandwich shop. Asked the server if they had a steamer, she said no, they heat it up in the oven. So you take the meat out of the fridge, slice it, and them warm it up in the oven. Guess that's why it was all of the above. Only plus was the fact the sandwiches had a lot of meat on toasted rye. Why do you toast it, I have no idea. Anyway the sandwiches were large, I think they wanted to get rid of this meat. They don't even buy their meat from a meat supplier. (they buy from Publix). I make my own pastrami, takes 7 hours in the smoker, then 12 hrs in the fridge, then 2 hours in a steamer till it's heated to 203F, and only then is it sliced and served. Okay, this place has been removed from my GPS. So far we have visited 8 delis , and have only felt one was decent, and it certainly wasn't the Deli Basket. Have to make a return visit back to that one, just to make sure...... There is a plus to this review, the dill pickle was delicious.. read more

This place is crap. I got the roast beef sandwich, which was equivalent in price to a sandwich at Crispers. Got it to go, opened it up at home, and it looked like a sandwich I would make at home. The people who run the place are very kind and sweet, but the food was basically like I would make at home, except blander. I had a ham sandwich and potato soup. The soup was oily and lacked salt and pepper. The ham sandwich was on store sliced bread and was dry. My husband's salad was generously portioned for the price and the veggies were fresh, but he didn't enjoy the dressing and didn't finish his food. If you just need a simple sandwich, it's fine, but not special. The store is clean (rare around here) and they have lots of topping choices. If the bread was a little nicer, it could be a good improvement. read more
