Popped in to grab something on my lunch break after seeing this place highly rated. It's in a small shopping plaza and has ample parking. The space itself is small and unremarkable but the service was quick and friendly. I was pointed to the daily special on the whiteboard but decided to try a classic BLT. The food was ready shortly and I took it back to my office to eat. The BLT was neatly made and very tasty. It comes with one side, and I chose potato salad--I could have eaten a gallon of it, very flavorful and the perfect accompaniment! All in all, a decent price at $11 and I'll be back to try their French dip. read more

What a find! We are from Kansas City, passing through to Naples and found the Bistro on Yelp. I had the Reuben sandwich, the corned beef was the leanest I have ever had. The portion size was generous. My husband had the tuna sandwich and enjoyed it. Chef Neil is personable and enjoyable to talk with. He's proud of his food's quality, and he should be! A down to earth small business w a wonderful owner (Neil) and good food. The sandwiches are on a good ciabatta that has texture and they panini crisp it warm so it's perfect. No cold sandwiches unless you want it cold. We loved the food and returned 2x in the same day. Try the tuna and italian sandwiches bc they are so good. I have to say Chef Neil's is my FAVORITE restaurant in Winter Haven. Amazing sandwiches, homemade dressings and soups (Spanish Bean is truly an out of body experience) I wanted a grilled chicken wrap with spinach and the homemade DELICIOUS ranch dressing and Chef made it for me-it is now my 'usual' and they know me by name. I go with my husband, order with the girls in the office, several times a week. Trust me; this is THE place. There is construction on Dundee now but they are open and whipping up some amazing things-Chef is there...everyday...and he is grateful his customers brave the construction but you will be grateful you went. I feel like I went to the wrong place! After reading all these great reviews, my husband and I stopped by one day for lunch. The ambiance is non existent. A few tables and chairs in a very small storefront with a counter where the chef stayed watching you eat. We ordered a couple of sandwiches and they were really subpar. The bread was thin sliced store brand bread from a grocery store and the sandwiches were very bland. We were very disappointed and will not be going back. read more

I LOVE this small, mom and pop type, friendly, clean restaurant! I have been eating there for 7 years, get lunch there at least twice a week and have withdrawals when they have the nerve to close for vacation a couple of times a year! Haha. I love the small mom and pop feel of this restaurant. I asked the owner the generic question of what's good? He replied with everything. I gave it a whirl and ordered the chef's special of baked spaghetti and Italian sausage with garlic toast. It was delicious, garlicky sauce, it was simple but great taste. We stopped by on our way to an appointment so we didn't have a lot of extra time. It was clear to the owner it was our first time so he kindly came to the table and offered some suggestions. The bistro was small but very very clean and the menu had enough variety to accommodate most anyone. We had Cubans and the black beans with rice. It was all very very good. Everything was fresh and tender. It may sound like an ethnic restaurant with out choices but actually that was the only thing on the menu remotely ethnic. It was actually hard to decide because of the variety of sandwiches and salads. We will return! read more
