Stopped by because I wanted a smoothie and love the "Blimey Limey". It consists of strawberries, pineapple, orange juice & lime. It's SO good. I usually go to the one in College Park but since I'm in the area, I decided to try this location. I added almonds as well. I'm giving this place three stars because the almonds could've been blended better in the smoothie (just sayin') and the customer service was pretty subpar. I had a coupon for a free 24oz smoothie (thanks T Mobile Tuesdays!) so decided to walk over. There were absolutely no customers in the store, not too many in the drive thru, and I still ended up waiting quite a bit for my order to be taken. The smoothie was pretty good, and I'm usually not the biggest fan of smoothies! It was a mango smoothie with yogurt. I am glad it was free though, because these smoothies are PRICY. Not sure I will be back because I waited some time for an order, and the prices were crazy. What I did get though was tasty! read more

The food is good when it is made correctly, and the air is filled with the dulcet sounds of the owner yelling employees, customers, or anyone who looks in his general direction. I've been here three different times and every single time I've had to wait 30+ minutes in the drive through! Manager did come around and give everyone a "buy one get one free coupon" First time trying it I get to the window and the girl says "what did you order" what???? she then says, after paying, I forgot we don't have any blueberries for your blueberry smoothie, so I order something else. Wait another 5 minutes for her to say "oh yeah we don't have lids either or that Bananna you ordered" the buffalo chicken wrap that I ordered barely had any buffalo sauce on it when I clearly asked for extra. Then they forgot my fruit, so I sat for another 10 minutes to get my piece of fruit they forgot to put in my bag. Tropical doesn't seem to have worked out the quick service you'd expect from fast food. We tried to order 2 bowls, waited more than 30 minutes and asked for a refund. When we asked about our order status....the answer was simply that a lot of orders are in front of yours. The drive thru seemed to be at a standstill. I'd avoid this restaurant. read more

Only reason why I'm not giving 5 stars is the service is SUPER SLOW and their prices for food are quite high. That being said, their smoothies are delicious. Worth every penny. I've had almost all the flavors and can't decide a favorite. If you're coming for just a smoothie you'll leave completely satisfied. Coming for lunch? A welcome addition to this section of town. I have been multiple times since it opened and have normally had consistently good smoothies and food. However, I did go through the drive thru today for my Avocolada smoothie with pea protein. Since I only have a short lunch break, the drive thru is a huge plus. I should have tasted my smoothie before I left because it was definitely missing the pea protein that I paid extra for and I'm pretty sure there was no avocado in it either. A smoothie that I have had multiple times that has always had a smooth, creamy consistency today was icy. I'm waiting for it to finish melting so I can finish it. Definitely disappointing after spending extra money for something I didn't receive, but it's a definite lesson learned to check everything before you leave. Side note, if you need to park, there is ample parking in the back of the building. Yes, it's a hike to get to the entrance but it saves frustration and many close calls that I have seen in this unfortunately tiny parking lot. read more

I made the mistake of trying the drive thru today. Not only was I there for OVER 25 minutes, I was given the wrong sandwich. I didn't even want to wait to get it fixed because it always takes so long. The sandwich was made with turkey, which I do not eat, and I ordered chicken. Literally the worst experience at a Tropical Smoothie Cafe ever! I visited around 10am. The lady at the drive-through window misunderstood my order (which is completely understandable as we are human). When I got to the window to pay, I kindly clarified that this was the incorrect order. The lady called her manager over and he starts yelling at me through the window! He first offered to do an equal exchange for a meal that was $5 less. When I disagreed with the fairness of his offer, he told me to "Get the hell out of here and never come back to my shop!" I enjoy the food at Tropical Smoothie and find the App very convenient. I will say that the drive through was not thought out very well. Also, the music is excessively loud and they set the thermostat at just above freezing. Besides that, it is a great addition and option to the other fast food dumps in town. read more

I wish I could give this place zero stars but that is not an option. Not only is this place so overpriced, the management is horrendous. The owner Sam mistreats his employees and a couple weeks ago stopped production to yell at them for not going fast enough, no wonder this place is so slow. The worst thing to ever happen to tropical smoothie cafe is the manager. Other locations are so sweet and nice but that guy seems to suck the life out of the whole atmosphere. I walked in to pick up my online order a few days ago, and a middle aged man (presumably the manager or owner) was too busy screaming at his employees over minor details to notice I'd walked in. Their unfazed body language made it obvious this was a regular occurrence. After a few minutes, he shifted his anger on me, asking why I was just standing there. The staff does not know what they are doing when using the registers and wait time is long even when they are not busy. My online order got skipped so after waiting 30 minutes I asked about my order and the guy at the counter was very nice and asked someone to make it for me. The smoothies here are AMAZING. I'm always looking for great consistency in my smoothies and this place nails it. The food is also super flavorful and delicious. The only reason I rate 4 stars is because this place is unbelievably slow. You can be the only person in the drive thru and it still take 5-10 minutes for you to get 1 smoothie. It's okay, I went 20 mins before my work shift started in hopes to get the drive through, but it was closed . Inside was a nightmare. I watched the girl making my sandwich eat something off the bar and my smoothie just sat in a blender for like 5 mins, I was indeed late for work. In the month or so that this place has been open I've eaten there 6 or 7 times. Every sandwich I've ordered has been tasty and fresh (especially the Baja Chicken and the Thai Chicken Wrap). They also have veggie chicken by Beyond Meat if you are a veg or vegan and they will sub it into most of the wraps. Right now my favorite smoothie is the Orange Ginger Glow but Blueberry Bliss is a close second. I'm so glad they've opened up and expanded the variety available in Salisbury. read more
