Just had the most amazing bagel, crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside! The cream cheese was super fresh, and every bite was perfection. Definitely a new favorite! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

$16.00 bagel and lox expensive !
    Beth K.

My friend and I got bagels yesterday. I was craving a bagel and lox sandwich with schmear of cream cheese, lox, red onion, capers, thin slice of tomato with sprig of dill. This is the only place to get a bagel and lox sandwich in the Bury. yep. The bagel cost me $16.00 which is about the same price I would have paid at a place on Houston Street in lower east Manhattan! ROFL! But Salisbury is not a bagel city, nor do they have delicatessens. I have to say the Nova lox was fresh and the bagel had a decent amount of chew, however, the tomato could have been fresher and sliced thinly. A sprig of dill was greatly missed. I will add the "everything bagel" had plenty of sesame, onion, garlic, and salt flavor. Unfortunately, Ahem, the price of the bagel and lox was so ridiculous overpriced at $16.00 I can't see returning. BTDT

My friend mentioned grabbing a bagel with lox and so I found this spot right off the main S Salisbury boulevard. It has the standard counter line ordering system. The picture of the crab bagel was featured and it looked so delicious. I decided to try one myself. Omg! If you are a crab dip lover you got to try this at least once. I loved the bagel with lox too. I will be coming back for more!

It's easy to see what everyone is saying in the reviews about the customer service. The girl working behind the counter definitely seems like she would rather be anywhere but here and barely glanced at me while I was placing my order. I stood waiting for my Crab Dip Melt for roughly 10 minutes before the guy standing at the register said he could ring up my order. I decided to also order a vanilla cappuccino, which he promptly made. I waited about 5 more minutes and finally my melt was ready. I sat down in the restaurant to eat, which looks out dated. The food was very good, and I even ended up placing an order for another melt just to bring home to my boyfriend. As long as good food is mainly the only thing you're looking for, you're at the right place.

A Solid Bagel Stop in Lewes…read more I've eaten at Surf Bagel before, so on the way home from a recent business trip I decided to stop again and grab breakfast to go. I ordered a sesame bagel with egg, cheese, and scrapple, along with a hash brown. The bagel was nicely toasted and very fresh, which is really what you hope for when you're stopping at a place that specializes in bagels. The sandwich itself was simple but very satisfying. Nothing over the top or crazy fancy, just a well made breakfast sandwich that hit the spot. The service was friendly and quick, and the place itself has a unique feel to it. Inside they sell quite a bit of Surf Bagel merchandise, which gives it a fun local vibe beyond just being a bagel counter. I included a few photos because the shop has a cool look to it. I stopped in around 9 in the morning and it was still pretty busy, even during the off season. That tells me this place probably gets packed during the summer months. Overall, everything was fresh, the staff was nice, and it's definitely a place I'd stop at again when I'm in the area.

Overall, I thought the service was pretty friendly and the restaurant/diner was clean with plenty of seating. DePaoloa seems like a popular place for the locals because the team seemed to know everyone's name and their orders. For my breakfast/brunch, I (as recommended) went with a bacon, egg, cheese on a sun-dried tomato bagel. While the bacon, egg and cheese portion was pretty tasty with a generous portion of bacon and egg, I did not really taste the sun-dried tomato flavor in the bagel. The bagel itself was fine, but I was expecting a bit more of a tomato "kick". I thought the prices were fine because my sandwich, two iced coffees, and tip was about $20. Since we are planning to visit Matapeak Beach a few more times this summer, we hope to stop by again and try more of their bagels.

The shop is located in a strip of several businesses, and has convenient parking right in front. A few of us came to order to-go items for our larger group of about 11 individuals. The menu has a wide selection of items, and a ton of different bagel options. Being that we never had been here before, it took awhile to look over the menu and figure out what we all wanted. The staff was friendly, answered all of our questions, and gave some great product suggestions. Our food came out quick, especially for the volume of the order. The prices of the bagels were fair, and the other items on the menu were average. I am not from this area, so it is hard to say if they were high, but I did not think they were anything egregious. I personally had a Sausage, Egg, and Cheese on a French Toast Bagel. It was very good! Also got to enjoy a Large Cold Brew that was a great size. At the recommendation of the employee who took my order, I got a Rosemary Olive Oil Bagel to try. I never had a bagel quite like it, and I enjoyed it! Lastly, got a small container of the Jalapeño Cheddar Cream Cheese for the group to share. It was fresh and the inclusions really added to the spread. I would recommend this spot for a quick breakfast, or even a coffee date. There is a lot of seating, options, and the atmosphere was welcoming.

They have various bagels, cream cheese, sandwiches, and even lunch/house specialties. We ordered: +an Everything bagel, toasted, with a Low Fat Scallion cream cheese +a Jalapeno bagel, toasted, with Jalapeno cream cheese Honestly, these were probably the worst bagels we've tried - the bagels themselves were just poorly made; not sure if they were just not fresh, if they were stale, if someone put too much of an ingredient or two in, or it was a combination of all the of the above, but it was just difficult to ingest. The cream cheese was super thick, and there seemed to have been some type of difficulty in spreading it on the bagel themselves. Also, the bagels were cut haphazardly. We each took a bite and tossed the rest. Service was kind of pushy, so you better know what you plan on ordering before getting in line; it's kind of hard, since the place is small, so once you go through the double doors, the staff is already waiting for you to put an order in. There was some sign and note on this place being recognized as having the best bagels back in '11; perhaps back then, but definitely no longer... Seating inside is fully closed, so it's just to-go only. I did like the painted murals inside. Plenty of parking in the shared plaza lot. +awful bagels and cream cheese T___T +pushy service +no seating inside +plenty of parking in the shared strip lot

I was driving from Bucks County to Newport News to visit family over the New Year's holiday and Surf was my first stop about a third of the way to my destination. I wanted to buy a half dozen for the family to enjoy for the next few days. I hadn't counted on the Christmas break causing this shop to be full on a Tuesday morning and low on bagel inventory. But, it was, so my options were limited. My first choices (onion and sesame) were gone, so it fell to secondary availability to meet the need. A few garlic, poppy and plain rounders would have to do. Still, these were quite good; well textured semi-hard skin with softer chewy bread within. Taste was forceful (particularly the garlic) and with toasting, cream cheese or butter and slice of Gruyère, enjoyable. Strong brewed coffee complemented it as hoped. Service was friendly and helpful and appropriately apologetic for lacking my desired flavors. Not their fault that they were so busy on a holiday week. Good for them. Surf is definitely a bagel stop to make on a quieter day when they wouldn't be nearly sold out before noon! 4 Fat Bagel Stars
